- This is just some extra info about the improv. It was very exciting live.
The last song played (on the show) is RED EYES by DROOOM.
To the people asking why are Kira and Christi shown in the audience when they were actually on stage during the final round:
Like always the show uses different audience reactions. The editors like cut and paste clips from anytime they filmed them sitting there. Those clips were definitely from some other time in the day because Kira and Christi were watching the final round from the wings.That's why the announcer was walking over to the left at 3:32 when she said "thank you to the moms".
To the people saying Chloe got the loudest applause only because of fans:
Most of the entire audience consisted mainly of dance studios, dancers, and family of the dancers. There were far and few fans that just came to see the girls dance like myself. Secondly, all day the DM girls received moderate claps,they didn't get thunderous applause every time they performed. The applause they got for their performances was just about the same as the applause other dancers from different studios got when they performed. The girl who won got a loud applause too (she had a lot of support from her studio) but it wasn't as loud as the one Chloe got. Chloe got a loud applause because she did great in the improv. There was an immense amount of dancing in this improv that you didn't see.
So basically the show isn't scripted, it's just edited to make certain people look bad...
I can't speak on every episode some of it might be scripted, but from what I saw it is edited to make certain ppl look bad like you said. I think the producers create storylines for drama. And I also think the producers make them say/do certain things.

Discord We don't mean not edit it all together, we mean edit in a way where it isn't ONLY drama. I believe they shoot around 64 hours a week yet majority of the episodes are full of drama. They probably have some really great moments throughout the week that are edited out and instead they show petty drama all the time. Were saying it'd be great if they'd show some of nicer moments once in a while.

Of course, why do you think kalani is there? Before kalani I think it was safe to say abby only had 1 fav. #maddie until she met kalani on audc. In which I truly feel abby only sent kalani home b/c she knew she was going to be on the elite team. Like abby said, for the 17 shoot "look at kalni, she looks like she she should be on the cover!!!! There all BEAUTIFUL girls and GrEAT DANCERS!!!+!!
Look at joe joe, she never placed in completion until she improved. She got 3rd. Which is pretty dam impressive!!!!!!

Np! And yeah I agree, the producers like to manipulate things to make it seem like Chloe is a "weaker" dancer. Especially in season 1 and season 2, they cut out and/or downplayed quite a few of her wins. Thank goodness I know the truth now, she was amazing in this improv.

I think they want to show Chloe as the underdog, because that's what gets her all the fan attention and subsequently, the show attention. And now they're starting to manipulate editing of Maddie to show her negatively in order to provoke even more online debate/activity.

I think they try do try to portray Chloe as a weaker dancer too because many times they've wrongly portrayed results and have not shown some of her placings and wins. Out of everyone they've done that to Chloe the most. They do the underdog thing but I don't think that's the main reason people like Chloe. Even if she wasn't portrayed as a underdog I still think she would have a lot of fans. Chloe just has that sweet personality, the kid just seems like she has a heart of gold. Also she's is so resilient she just handles all that negativity Abby gives her with grace and dignity; I think a lot of people like her for that because even after all that she still goes out there and does her best and gives beautiful performances. She's an amazing dancer, she was so great live. And I don't like the producers or Abby for doing what they do these girls. They do it all for drama and its wrong.
Yes, I suppose you're right; her grace and dignity are lovely qualities in her. Hard to imagine where she got them from, when Christi is anything but. I think the 'underdog' thing does her huge favours fanbase-wise as well. However, it bugs me that fans of hers continue to insist she's the best dancer and deserves the success that Maddie's having, a lot of them insisting she deserves that success INSTEAD of Maddie. Chloe is beautiful, sweet, graceful, classy - yes. But the best dancer? No, I'm afraid not. She doesn't work as hard or want it as much as some of the others in that group. And that's probably Abby's fault, but the fact remains, she's not a 'star'. She's a lovely normal little girl. Refreshing in that sense. But Maddie's the 'star'.
I don't understand why the producers have to make Chloe look so undermined. I mean, she is such an amazing dancer. Give the girl some credit producers. They are kids and they shouldn't be manipulated like that. Thanks for uploading this :) I used to be a big dance moms fan but now I question that. I'm a huge fan of the dancers on the show but not so much the show anymore..
why? simple, it makes for "good" TV. The "villain" ( i.e Maddie ) and the underdog/the one everyone roots for ( i.e Chloe )..not saying Maddie is a villain in real life, i'm just saying thats how the producers edit the footage. Since s1 e1 there has always been this Maddie v. Chloe "rivalry" going on ( as well as Maddie v all the other girls on the team )..and I am afraid the show will always have that as an underlying theme. I agree i'm a big fan of the girls, they are incredible dancers..not a fan of the show. I haven't been since I found out how they portray Brooke and Paige. There have been MANY instances where they dont show their solos or other dances they are in. In s1, remember the beauty pageant that "only Maddie qualified for" no, Brooke also qualified for it as well..they just edited it out. Also remember how Chloe got the Joffrey scholarship? well Maddie got it as well, but the show didnt show it..and neither of the girls could even do the Joffrey thing because it overlapped with filming of Dance Moms

Maya Kosaraju Maddie did receive a Joffrey scholarship as well, she was listed on their website along with Chloe.

Yup she got a scholarship for modern, Chloe got a full scholarship for ballet.
kalani is my official favorite! her technique and improv is beyond her years and she's so cute and funny. She's always happy for others no matter if she wins or loses and doesn't have epically butthurt fans

Agreed. I stopped watching because of that especially when they started putting the full dances online. Forget the drama. It was better just to watch the dances.

Actually, all it shows is that Chloe is more stronger with her ability to do improv. I think Maddie is more used to dancing to choreography ;D
Aliza Dauterman yeah… i personally think that Chloe is just as good as Maddie, and tbh I kinda feel bad for her that she didn't get a lot of attention from Abby. I know how it feels to not get much attention. I'm the middle child in my family so my sisters usually get all the positive attention.

Exactly. At some point everyone of them were repeating moves yet she only confronted Chloe about it. Just shows how much of a dislike she has for a 12 year old. Chloe did amazing in this improv.

Well kalani proved her mom right. That she could put Ava in a grave. 👌🏾 noticed Maddie got bumped out 😂 she's Abby's "strongest dancer/go to dancer" but kalani and Chloe moved on and she got bumped out. I don't think that girl should have won. It was tough between kalani and Chloe. ☺️
Just because maddie didn't win doesn't mean she isn't an amazing dancer improv isn't every ones thing

So basically, chloe won.

Chloe didn’t win. The clap off wasn’t to decide who should win. Plus it wouldn’t have been fair anyways since two girls are from a dance TV show. The other girl won. You don’t have to accept it but it’s the truth.

Kalani is stunning to watch: gorgeous extension and there's a precision in her movement that's simply breath-taking but Chloe dances from her heart and will always be my favorite. I can't wait to see what she does with her dancing...
Sooo glad chloes moved studios will miss her soo much on dance moms, she'll be happier now because her dance teacher wont be dragging her down all the time and making her self esteem go down, so annoying how the show always cast chloe as being second best when shes just as good or even better than maddie, love you chlo you have a bright future ahead of you for dance ❤

I couldn't keep my eyes off of Chloe in the last round. Can't believe she was beat.
here's what we can learn from this:
-chloe and kalani are really amazing dancers and their improv is gorg!
-the show edits so their accomplishments are downplayed for the "storyline"
-the public favors chloe whether she wins or doesn't: what judges say doesn't matter to them (the judges didn't pick her for first, but the audience always will. i mean, who cares about that amazing local dancer or kalani?)

I absolutely love these videos because i hate how the editing doesn't always give a situation justice (obv i get they cant fit like 20 hours of film that week into 45 mins show), Sometimes i wish they would add more than just drama like it would have been nice to see Abby, Christi and Kira go on stage and the girls get given a scholarship, instead of showing Abby's unimpressed face all the time. Thanks for this video. Was you there ? Do you travel to many of the competitions?
Np at all! And I agree completely. I would like to see less drama and more of the special moments like that. And yup I was there. I don't travel to their competitions, I went to this one because it was in my area. It was really interesting to see how they portrayed everything.

Why did Marisa win if Chloe got the loudest claps? What was the point if the judges or someone else could change the results? I bet Lifetime was up to this.

I think they both have different strengths/weaknesses, and specific areas they're stronger in; for instance, Maddie is amazing at leaps, Chloe is amazing at turns. But in the its subjective, everyone will have their own opinion on who's better overall.
Depends..... Maddie might not be as good at improve as Chloe is and Maddie might be better at solos....... The judges decide though.

Not really, the judges had the final say
chloe technically won by the audience but the judges went with the other girl so I would say chloe got second and kalani got third.
Ritika Sharma Chloe got the loudest audience applause, she didn't win, the judges picked the local girl as the winner and she won a cash prize and scholarship. They never said who got second and third between Kalani and Chloe, they were both just finalists and also won scholarships.

at times I really hate dance mom, I cant stand how Abby treat the girls especially Chloe. the routines they give her at times are really boring nevertheless she tries her best to bring it to life... I cant get enough of her. I really love that she love school too.

This improv just shows how darn talented Chloe really is. And how little Abby really showcase her. Abby must be so jealous of the 12-year-old, it’s hilarious. To even criticize her at all in this improv is terrible. Because she was truly better than every other dancer on Abby‘s team, right up there alongside Kalani
of course i think they’re all so talented but i found it hilarious when they stopped the music and then played it again and then you see like 20 girls flailing their arms. obviously they weren’t flailing their arms but when it’s in a group of that many people it looks hilarious

Marisa is from my studio and we all clapped and cheered very loudly for her, so I remember hers as being the loudest but even if Chloe or kalani were cheered on louder they probably would have still let Marisa win just to add drama for the show

In my honest opinion i felt like Kalani should've won. Her dancing is just incredible. The other girls also did amazing but Kalani was my favourite
