2 things :- due to this mentality car makers never give good engine in small cars and yeah ek segment upar ja k kya faida agar engine Accha nai hai to like centre n6 14 lakh mt is good because creta s(0) costs 17 lakh with less features than n6 and smaller cars is way more practical in city. So why go one segment higher with worse engine and features?
