It's a hybrid, and most of the time the engine is powering a generator, or is off, not connected to the wheels. That's why the engine sound doesn't match the car speed.

Honda needs to bite the bullet and add 50 lbs of sound deadening material to the bottom of the Accord. I realize he's driving on snow, but there's just way too much noise coming from the bottom of that car.

It has a CVT transmission which uses belts instead of gears. They are often found in hybrids and low-power cars.

Didn't personally sound this bad when I drove it. Was very quiet in my experience.
