You did good for a lvl 4.
One thing that I can tell you is that each ghost has it's own tactic(s), with each giving away what ghost type they are.
If you don't know any, here are some that I know of:
(May not be the best explainations, but it's fine as long as I tried)
    *Shade*
    - Very shy, doesn't hunt or do an ghost event if the same room as you. If you get a ghost event or it starts a hunt in in the same room as you, you know it's not a Shade. If you get 2 pieces of evidence and doesn't interact with anything, assume it's a Shade despite it's lack of activity.
    *Poltergeist*
    - Very active and can throw many objects at once. This is good for if the ghost is chasing, and you want to check if it's a poltergeist, known as the *Poltergeist Check*. If you see if throw like 10 items as once and threw it pretty far, you will know it's a Poltergeist.
    *Deogen*
    - One of the easiest ghosts to test for in my opinion. If it is hunting you, but get's slower the closer it gets to you, assume it's a Deogen 100%.
    *Oni*
    - One thing I know about the Oni is that they cannot produce what's called an *airball* , which is normally a second choice for an ghost event. If you see it, you can cross out an Oni. If you mostly get normal ghost events but no airballs, assume it's an Oni.
    *Thaye*
    - The most active ghost yet. Unlike the other ghosts, the Thaye starts at an young age, but ages the longer the match goes on. One great way to tell if it's an Thaye is to use the Ouija Board (if you have it as the cursed possession). If you can, ask the board "How old are you?" from time to time. If the age get's older (for example, 15 years old to 45 years old), it's an Thaye. The older it gets, the less active it becomes.
    *Mimic*
    - One of the most annoying ghosts in the game, especially if The Mimic is greyed out. Despite it's evidence, The Mimic will always contain orbs and, like it's name, mimic a ghost type. One way to check for a Mimic (in my opinion) is to see if you get orbs at the start of the game (then get evidence later on), or after you get all 3 evidence without Ghosts Orbs as the evidence. If you see orbs, but you have a Phantom because of your evidence, it's a Mimic. The Mimic only has Ultraviolet, Freezing Temperatures, and Spirit Box. If you get any of these as a 4th piece of evidence, or all of the ghosts are greyed out with the 3 pieces of evidence, it's a mimic.
    *Hantu*
    - The Hantu likes cold areas, with the colder making it faster. There are 2 ways to test for a Hantu: Breath & Speed. If it speeds up at Colder areas, but slows down at warmer areas, it's a Hantu. In cold areas, The Hantu can also breathe out cold breath, which is something none of the ghosts can do expect for this ghost type and players.
    *Phantom*
    - The only thing I know about the phantom is that if it is hunting, appears in dots, or makes a ghost event and you take a photo of it, it will disappear immediately. If you take a photo of the ghost and it doesn't disappear, it's not a Phantom. However, if it does disappear immediately but doesn't show up in the photo, it's a Phantom.
    *Obake*
    - The Obake is pretty easy to get. How? Either from hunting, or fingerprints. If it is hunting you, keep a close eye on it. If you see it shapeshift into a different model for a second, then but to it's normal model, it's an Obake. For fingerprints, unlike the usual 5 fingers, it instead leaves 6 fingers on Ultraviolet.
    *The Twins*
    - The Twins are, well.. pretty obvious. 2 Ghosts that look familiar to each other. However, there is a way to tell if it's twins or not. One twin is 10% faster, while the second twin is 10% slower. If you notice a speed difference during a hunt, it's gonna be Twins.
    *Wraith*
    - Unlike the other ghosts, the Wraith cannot step on salt whatsoever, even if it shows up on dots and walks through the salt, but doesn't interact with it. If it steps in the salt and leaves a footprint, it's not a Phantom. If no contact has been made to the salt since the start of the game and it hasn't roamed or changed it's ghost room (favourite room), assume it's a Wraith.
These are all the ghosts that I do know off. The rest of the ghosts are... confusing to me, like the Myling for example.
If you have any questions/concerns, don't hesitate to reply to this comment! I am more than happy to help!

    hey man :)
for the ghost evidence, you need to be in the ghost room to actually find the evidence you need to determine the ghost
for the spirit box, you need to be in the ghost room in the dark and speak to it through that (with the spirit box im pretty sure the ghost symbol lights up red if the ghost hears you but doesnt respond)
you can see ghost orbs by looking on a video camera by placing it in the ghost room and looking at it in the truck while the room is dark
ghost writing book also has to be in the ghost room
the thermometer has to sit in the ghost room for a while so the temperature can drop and then you can see if it's freezing or not
    goodluck !
