Thanks for stopping by the channel and for the comment. There’s so much I’d like to come back and see in Arizona. I’ll add Big Lake to the list! Adventure on!
A strong willed man, drive past countless restaurants along the way but resist and make your own meal. Thanks for showing all the places along the way and epic trip that is for sure. We have been having a nice little heat wave in the SW this year. My air bags on my GX 470 are starting leak air now, have you modified your rig ?
Haha, yes, I did pass LOTS of enticing restaurants and eateries. It was more about saving money than willpower. Road trips are pricey! Here in Redding, we had the hottest day on record so far - 119º! It's been a scorcher for sure! So, here's the airbag saga of my GX. I lifted my GX immediately after purchasing it about 3 years ago using the "airbag trick". This setup failed me on a trip and I had to do a trail fix to get myself home. Not long later, I installed 2" universal airbag spacers that we modified for the GX. This has worked ok, but this setup has failed me twice as well. The first time it failed was on this trip: th-cam.com/video/daqqGKc3EL8/w-d-xo.html. You can see the parking lot fix in this video: th-cam.com/video/zt2Pa8NaQYM/w-d-xo.html. The second time it failed was in early May when I was by myself deep in the backcountry of Nevada. I managed to do a trail repair, but it really shook me up because of how remote I was. I will be doing a coil spring swap sometime this next year, with helper air bags inside the springs. If you replace your bags, I would advise not buying the cheap bags off of Amazon - I made that mistake. If you don't buy bags from Toyota, consider the Arnott Industries brand bags. They are superior to anything you will find on Amazon. If you are doing mild offroading and towing, I think tricked airbags or a lift using a spacer would be fine. However, I push my GX more than that so I have found the air springs to be unreliable for my application. Hope this helps. Feel to ask any other questions you have. I'm no expert, but I have poked around quite a bit on my GX. Adventure on!
@@SoccerMomOffroad Thanks I will watch those vides, I am in the So. Cal. and one thing I have noticed over the last 10 years that the hot weather is migrating north, even though Palm Springs still hit its record of 120, the northern half including Oregon and Washington are getting whacked, we were 106 yesterday.
Thanks for comment! Yeah, everyone has their own preferences for airing down. I’ve been rock crawling since the later 90’s and I would always air down for rocks. Now days, rock crawling is in the past, but I’ll do minor rocky trails in the GX. As a general rule, my tire pressure (I run C rated tires)goes as follows: 35 street, 25 on the dirt, 15 for rocks, 10-15 for sand, and as low as 5-7 for deep snow. Works pretty good for me!
I have now! (at least by the middle of the trip I had). As I mentioned in the video (during the rain), being from the west coast my whole life, monsoons are a thing I’ve heard of but never experienced.
You camped on living soil. One of many reasons you should get to camping areas in the daylight. And why are you saying "we" and "our" if it's just you? So bizarre.
“We” and “our” = just a content creator thing. It’s like we’re on the adventure together, at least that’s the goal. “Living soil”… where I camped is totally acceptable and low impact = dispersed camping. You wouldn’t even have been able to tell I was there. A Forest Ranger would not have batted an eye at me. Adventure on!
Little to the west, near Big Lake, breathtaking.

Hope to see many more videos on your channel.
Hey Toyotero! Welcome to the channel and thanks for sub! I’ve got a decent amount of content here. Let me know what you think!
Kale is the best...said no one ever!!
Well said!
Love the Fort Bragg shirt.❤
Hey RockenRippy! Thanks for the comment. We LOVE Fort Bragg. Had to get a souvenir. Adventure on!

Only air down on soft sand, not on rocks.

"I ate kale 🤷♂️".
hahaha Chad.
I'm trying to be healthy! 😜
Kale is the nastiest food…no wait it’s on the level of Liver and onions.
Yep! Although, I don’t mind it in soups if it’s diced up and been softened quite a bit!
Ever heard of monsoon season?
