Enjoying the game. Solid 7.5. Not sure how much I'll dabble with NG+ when I finish it, but my first playthrough is pretty fun so far. I've noticed a number of things in this video are good, but could use further explanation: Tip 1: Those blue "target" spots do show all of the important things to find within a map. But also if people haven't realized yet, they ONLY show locations of things that you can currently use. For example, if you find Elemental Aeries or Elementites or Vessel Trigger locations, but you still don't have the Elemental Vessel to actually activate it, they just won't show up on your mini-map as a special point. But returning later will have all of those spots updated with targets to let you know where the stuff is that you couldn't find previously. Tip 2: Just going to point out that you also get EP from leveling up your characters, in addition to Elementite and using Gold Clovers. Later there are also (some) respec items you can get to use if you feel like it, so experimenting somewhat isn't terrible. Should be enough to reset every character 3-4 times if you really feel the need to. Tip 3: Lesser Aeries scale with you. The higher level you get, the monster levels within will match accordingly (a number of them are +4 to your level, for example). Waiting until later for some of them is definitely viable to get good elemental coverage or better Abilities/Moves/Seeds if needed, but you won't just make it easier by outleveling it because you just can't do that. Tip 4: Slight correction on the rewards. The monsters drop Corestones, not Niccolo Coins. But those you don't want can also be traded for Niccolo Coins instead of Ability Seeds (and a select few are only good for doing that), so... I guess I'm just nit-picking here. :P Good video though!
I'm really enjoying the full game over the demo. I'm playing on hard so that I have a challenge and don't rely on button mashing. The combat system is simple, but you can string combos together even if you haven't unlocked the extra combo strings from the skill trees. Air dashing is the fastest way to traverse without a mount and also the fastest way to close the distance between you and the enemy. For boss fights and nemesis enemies, it's best to utilize hit and run tactics. If you get too greedy, you'll get caught by a string of attacks and you'll likely die, especially in hard mode. So there is a tactical element to the game. So far, I'm loving it even though I'm still only in the beginning. I do wish that ability seeds were color coded so I can tell right away which ones add skills to use and which ones enhance stats. And I hope that they eventually patch in double jump and dashing in towns.
Bought the game Friday night. Got about 12 hours in and I’m still at the beginning of the game. Absolutely amazing. Love everything about it. And I bought it off your recommendation. Love the channel.
Thanks for these! I think the demo did a disservice to the game plopping players later in without easing them in a bit more. Game is already phenomenal, way better than I expected from the demo.
Hi David, I just recently picked up Visions of Mana and the game is breathtakingly beautiful! I have been a fan since the Game Boy and SNES days (Seiken Densetsu). I totally love the elemental class transformations between the characters! ❤️💯❤️
Yeah, you can always hit the Map button, select a Meridien and just go there, then fast travel to a different map. Or do it just to save some time on the same map when doing side quests. The Fast Travel in the game is about as good as it gets. But remember, it's only on the same continent. So story wise if you're moving from one continent to another, you can't warp back to an other continent. So you might want to go back to earlier maps just to see what you can get and have unlocked if the story is saying your moving to another continent...

I definitely find going into the Nemeses with a full Class Strike Gauge to help out. Gives a nice bit of damage off the bat and can clear out any other monsters hanging around if you've got one with AOE.
@@blairmcmackin8857 Yeah when I went in they told me I bought the last copy. I didn't even see a demo case in the new section I thought that was pretty weird. I almost thought they didn't have it.
while passive effects are class exclusive, active spells, abilities, additional combos and active abilities (for example pressure point, elemental blades, fireball, etc...) that are learned from your classes are permanent, so if you really don't like Val's great sword gameplay while he's a rune knight, you could teach him the basic spell abilities and save up your elemental points for one of his other classes later down in the game, alternatively, if there are other classes that teach elemental blade spells or gives an additional great sword combo, you could choose to invest a little into them so that Val can become the best rune knight he can be.
This is my first Mana game and I'm absolutely loving it! The characters are great, I love the exploration and class switching is super fun. I'm excited to try the rest of the series after this!
If you can, try to play 2 and 3 with local co-op with someone. You can play them entirely 2 player and its part of why do many people have fond memories of this series
Also a good point to make...go back and find the little cactus in every area of the game. He will reward you with shop discounts and such but most improtantly up to double exp gain which stacks with those cookies and valorflies and etc.
Once you’re around lvl 25-27, depending on your load out, you can start defeating the temple mobs. I was able to complete the temples and get the chests before looking for gnome. Be sure to use the exp boost items.
I like how some enemies are sorta oversouled like ffx2 where they are stronger than their counterpart. I found 2 in the demo . Also love the portals where you have a time limit to kill a hoard of enemies. Such a great game characters look super amazing
My tip would be: check all the yellow glowing spots for the gold leaf item. That resource allows you to exchange it 1:1 for Elemental Plot points. So you can make everyone max everything! Happy playing
Adapt your equipped Seeds to your play style! I found myself air-attacking a lot, so I watched out for a Seed that raises my aerial attacks. Do this with all your characters or at least the ones in your permanent group. I play with Val, Morley and Palmina so Vals is my Jack of all trades, supporting with elemental blade spells while hitting hard as a truck. Morley is my Crit-Damage-Master with his daggers. Palmina is blowing away enemies with the water-vessel attack and her icicle magic so she should have magic attack boosts. If you watch out for your setup, you nail even the harder fights. Experiment with the classes of your main! At first, I liked the fast-paced combat style of Val's one-handed sword style, but later I found that his lance and shield classes are devastating! His hard attack does aoe-damage and pulls little groups of enemies together and playing with them like they were balls xD Really fun to play your power fantasy :D Do the Ruins as fast as possible! In each of the eight ruins is a really strong boss to conquer, but they open a chest with wildly strong weapons for the endgame. try it at levl 25 first so you have already unlocked a class for every character in your group. Use that sweet crunchy cookies for exp boosts! Every time you enter battle against a nemesis enemy or before Boss fights you should activate one of these cookies to boost your gained exp by 10-20% for 10 minutes! This is more than enough time to beat the enemies you wanna beat and level up quite a bit faster. Find the Cactus! He gives you discounts on merchants and adds permanent exp-boosts later on in the game up to x2.0 the exp which is insane in late- and endgame.
Save your class strike until you can either kill or almost kill a nemesis (purple health bar) monster. These fights get harder the lower that you take their health, so once the fight is getting tough at the 30%- 40% remaining nemesis health, you can activate your class strike and probably finish the nemesis off, making the fight easier in the long run.
Im loving the game. I just got to the part where the demo drops you in. Im already tired of being turned into a snowcat ( playing as Morley, and I love his surprise lineage.), lol.

you also get EP from leveling up as well also don't really worry about picking wrong class at first later on in the game you can get a item that can reset your EP so you can re spec the char of your choice you can even buy the re spec item from the traveling cats that sells gear and weapons /items about half way through the game
oh i forgot one thing do the ruins you find around the world they contain class weapon's for char's and yes there is a lot of ruins in the game they are hard to late game area's have 2 and the weapons for the classes for the char seam to be in random not 100% sure on that tbh do them when your roughly level 60 and there are some bugs in the game where your party can be locked out of boss fights or one for instance if one party member dies you cant use heal at all tell other dies so have revives at hand or the revive seed on hand also there is a bug where if a party member dies you cant move yet you can switch to the dead char these are just some of what i have exp so far on the bugs in the game im sure there more btw Careena is pretty over powered imho with the fan classes and with fist as well not to sure with the spear though

I’m 10 hours in and find myself hoarding class points without spending f them. I know I could advance Rune Knight and make the game easier in the here and now, but at what cost? In Trials I let the supporting characters cast sword magic and buffs, while focusing on my main damage dealer’s BASE str and critic hit rate and damage boosting passives. That strategy paid off in spades so I’m holding out for the introduction of true buffer classes like Sage and Starlancer…. Basically, I don’t want to waste Val’s points on sword magic when in late game he’s not going to be using it
Oh my god I totally missed the figurative boat on the fast travel - thank you for clarifying! Made me feel not so dumb! 😂 My only tip would be to be sure to utilize the item shortcut menu - makes healing much easier!
I might get this one. I'm trying to get my BF to play something like Dragon Quest 11. He loves Pokemon but I cannot get him to play anything else. Oh whale.
Currently sinking 5 hours in 1 sitting in this game. Granted, the graphics aren't that extraordinary, and the setting (I'm on PC) is abysmal, but I have been having fun with it. I don't know what is in store for me going forward, but I can say this is truly a worthy successor of the Mana series.
I'm enjoying the hell out of the game - it is a lot of fun and very pretty - buuuuuuut I don't think it's Action RPG of the year (that title goes to Rebirth). It's definitely up there as one of this year's best games, though.
Did it bother you to have the map covered with all those blue things telling you where to find everything? I haven't played it yet, but that's usually one of those things I hate in games (like in a lot of Ubisoft titles or the Horizon ZD/FW games). Map clutter is annoying, and finding things on my own is part of the fun of exploring a new world. But if the game just points me to where every chest & cool thing is, I feel I'd be a bit bummed out. Am I overthinking it, or does it still have hidden things that aren't highlighted directly on the map?
Not exactly even on Beginner/Easy mode nearly EVERY region has at least 1 group of enemies that will START AT LV 50 so those enemies aren't really beatable at all YET sure Beginner mode still has a chose auto revive you with FULL HP/MP when the entire party dies but against the LV 50 enemies they will still kill you even at LV 25 IN 1 HIT and you'll still barely be able to DAMAGE them at all. So theirs no way I'd take on the LV 50 enemies in the first field map area at the START of the game on Beginner MODE AT LV 2. IF theirs a trophy for having 1 million Lucre it ONLY unlocks IF you HAVE that MUCH ALL at once.
My tip is to not bother with summons at all until maybe late game. They’re all trash, and the targeting is terrible. They miss constantly. I made the mistake of getting excited to make palamena a summoner. Huge mistake
I just bought this game tonight and only played it for about 45 minutes because i have to get up at 6 am.. ive never played any mana game before this but just from what ive played in the tutorial mission, im enjoying the combat quiet a bit... but i will say, its kinda strange that they made the main character a chick... but also a dude.. like its a man but its obviously meant to be seen as a chick.. and yes i know japanese games make men have girly features in the face.. but this main character was straight up made to look like a woman in every aspect... its weird

Saw people complain that you can't dash in town, while that may be true but you can still sprint using L3!

@Davidvinc RPGs I found out that Netease closed the studio that made Visions of Mana literally the day after the game released.
My power levelling tip: It is possible with some skill and patience to be 20-30 levels above mobs and story bosses.

I'm enjoying the hell out of the game - it is a lot of fun and very pretty - buuuuuuut I don't think it's Action RPG of the year (that title goes to Rebirth). It's definitely up there as one of this year's best games, though.
Did it bother you to have the map covered with all those blue things telling you where to find everything?
I haven't played it yet, but that's usually one of those things I hate in games (like in a lot of Ubisoft titles or the Horizon ZD/FW games). Map clutter is annoying, and finding things on my own is part of the fun of exploring a new world. But if the game just points me to where every chest & cool thing is, I feel I'd be a bit bummed out.
Am I overthinking it, or does it still have hidden things that aren't highlighted directly on the map?

Is this game as easy as the trials remake was? I'll need to play on hard if so
Not exactly even on Beginner/Easy mode nearly EVERY region has at least 1 group of enemies that will START AT LV 50 so those enemies aren't really beatable at all YET sure Beginner mode still has a chose auto revive you with FULL HP/MP when the entire party dies but against the LV 50 enemies they will still kill you even at LV 25 IN 1 HIT and you'll still barely be able to DAMAGE them at all.
So theirs no way I'd take on the LV 50 enemies in the first field map area at the START of the game on Beginner MODE AT LV 2.
IF theirs a trophy for having 1 million Lucre it ONLY unlocks IF you HAVE that MUCH ALL at once.
I'm playing on Hard difficulty now and the only real challenge was the ruins in early game that have enemies almost 50 levels higher than you. lol

My tip is to not bother with summons at all until maybe late game. They’re all trash, and the targeting is terrible. They miss constantly. I made the mistake of getting excited to make palamena a summoner. Huge mistake
not all abilities are created equal make me nervous perhaps a class guide or something for your next vid if you get the time

I just bought this game tonight and only played it for about 45 minutes because i have to get up at 6 am.. ive never played any mana game before this but just from what ive played in the tutorial mission, im enjoying the combat quiet a bit... but i will say, its kinda strange that they made the main character a chick... but also a dude.. like its a man but its obviously meant to be seen as a chick.. and yes i know japanese games make men have girly features in the face.. but this main character was straight up made to look like a woman in every aspect... its weird
