Absolutely. Strange that in 2019 when I created the channel. All the trains started to change from stagecoach colours to purple EMR. Yh I'll take that sign from up top. 😃
I hope the seats are moderately comfortable, never be as comfortable as our pre-refurbishment 159s though. I was impressed with the depot whistle, all trains should have that retro fitted.
Gorgeous auroras icl that’s the best nova of hitachi ietat300’s ever been released, originally it was gonna be 7 coaches until they spaced em to 5 coaches so can couple up with another unit making 10 coach for flexibility that’s like the 5th unit built & out for test
Hi purple x co 😊 all Keith's are warriors ( sommat to do with the Celts 😂) I've seen this TWAIIIIN whilst on dog walking duty while my son has been in a caravan up Santa Pod 😊looks like European fast trains, very streamlined.
Absolutely. It's not just his railway content we have to thank for. We locals of Wellingborough have a wonderful video record of what once was. After making a few history videos of my hometown he pointed me to his channel which in turn leading me to show off more of what Wellingborough had hidden away. I then filmed a couple of trains after watching his railway content and they did well until the algorithms messed up the view count. Thus the creation of Purple&Co Railway Adventures. He is true inspiration to me and it breaks my heart to see him not as strong as he once was.
It’s really good to see the roof, tells us a lot more about what they’ve changed on these verses other class 80X 1 central HVAC unit in the middle of each carriage rather than two at each end, engine exhausts oppose each other which means we can expect toilets to potentially be paired together, still can’t quite see how they’ve changed the exhausts tho really wanna see the outlet design
My favourite wagons. I did hear somewhere that the short wheel base can't travel parts of the railways but from St Pancras area to Ketton it can so we still get to see these wagons
@PurpleandCoRailwayAdventures yes a genuine nice guy. He's been around forever. His back catalogue is immense. His photography collection going back to the days of steam must fill a house 😆
It does and spills out into the Wellingborough Film Archive group, who I met working at Wellingborough Museum. I film alot of everything Wellingborough on my other channel @PurpleVision
I haven't seen cement waggons like those 2 axle Castle Cement waggons for a long time, wondering how old they are ? I'll do some googling. Interesting to see the 810 Thanks everyone 👍
So I guess, as with current trends, another step backwards in passenger comfort if the other Hitachi trains are anything to go by...The current units with EMR to St, Pancras, are fairly acceptable..They may look sleek, be fast, and modern, but if the interior is not comfortable with a decent ambience..then its another train to avoid using.
Purple colour not too sure about, but I'm still like the new trains. I wasn't a fan of the outgoing ones, and these are much better for the environment 🎉👍🏿.
They will not help the overcrowding on many MML trains and let us hope the quality of the seating is a vast improvement over LNER and GWR, which, even in 1st class is truly awful. It is disgraceful however that the electrification which has now reached just south of Leicester is not scheduled to continue to Sheffield and Nottingham until at least 2030.
Problem is Thameslink was and will always be the main priority on the MML whichever way you slice it. Intercity services have always been neglected for a while, especially since you can't even hit 125mph on a lot of stretches. A lot of stations and bridges from Leicester to Nottingham/Sheffield need serious remodelling before the electrification can resume.
@@Fedderchini Until a set fails. I've seen what are meant to be 10 coach set dropped to 5 to London Paddington before due to failures and can tell you now. Gets very very cosy!
They can run on diesel and via overhead wires, so putting aside the aesthetics, they're better for the environment, cheaper to operate, and have better acceleration
I like to see something different on the railways but I'd prefer to see loco hauled trains than units. My answer to your question is.... those who wish to get from A to B quickly and efficiently. Even if it means sacrificing part of what made the U.K greater than the rest.
And it's Purple, I bet you're over the moon matey 💜
Absolutely. Strange that in 2019 when I created the channel. All the trains started to change from stagecoach colours to purple EMR. Yh I'll take that sign from up top. 😃
Great video and the nicest looking IETs yet !
Cheers. They definitely look different to the others for sure.
Will be nice to see these new Bi-mode trains in service very soon. Nice catch.
Cheers
Last time i've checked - they comming in 2025 ...
Yep April/May
Saw one in Wellingborough today!!
Yh nice. I've just been too busy to catch it
Very nice. I do think that the EMR Class 810 Aurora IETs are to enter service from next year.
Yh supposed to be spring
I hope the seats are moderately comfortable, never be as comfortable as our pre-refurbishment 159s though. I was impressed with the depot whistle, all trains should have that retro fitted.
You'll be lucky. This is the age of money is more important than people's feelings and comfort levels.
Nice vid matey, really liked the drone shots 👌🏻 I reckon the Auroras look fantastic. The crew change GBRf was a bonus 😁
Glad you enjoyed it

Cool. Yh they look epic Compared to the others
Nice to see emr testing their new trains also In the did I catch a glimpse of smile videos on the stasion as I've not seen new vids
Yh he's still around. I dred to think what he's been through recently. True warrior is Keith

More testing of the 810's this week, 5Q43 stops at Wellingborough for around 10mins according to RTT.
Yh I see that, just i've been wayyyy to busy
Yes he truly is diamond gesser and ways gives us good videos god bless him

Those 810's look smart, we've got Avanti's new ones just coming out now in service on my local patch - well the 805's anyway :). Nice catch 👍
Yh I've filmed them a couple of times now but these 810s have an awesome nose cone
Yes he truly is a warrier God bless the guy
😊
Nice to see the 810 out last week, hopefully it runs again this week
Yh about time we had something a little different.
Awesome video i no it won't be for a while yet but anty idea when they are to enter service
Supposed to be May next year
Spotted Smile Video (Keith) @ 0.53!
A real legend
Those look amazing
Don't they just
I bet that Hitachi are making a fortune out of the TOCs!
Yh I bet. It's becoming very saming on the U.K network
Hi Mr Purple, great video, I suffer from lower back pain please tell me they've sorted out the terrible seats 🙏
I couldn't tell you. I'm yet to see inside
Don't forget to take a cushion when using these, ironing board seats.
yh the journey to swindon was aweful on a 802
810 will have different seats - EMR announced this as "the best seats in class"
It's definitely the best looking of the class

I forgot to say I remember seeing those castle wagons in the early 70sso in think they must be from around that time
My favourite wagons. I did hear somewhere that the short wheel base can't travel parts of the railways but from St Pancras area to Ketton it can so we still get to see these wagons
Only 5 coaches? Is the MML a branch line now?
😄 restrictions at St Pancras
@@PurpleandCoRailwayAdventures Will those restrictions apply when these units enter service?
I'm not qualified enough to say
Is that Keith from smile video in the footage as well?
Most certainly is. He's a legend amongst us locals

THEY'RE HERE!!!!
Whoop whoop!
these new 810's look longer carragewise than the 222's, mind you ive always thought the 222's looked shorter than hst carrages.
Hmm. I've not thought about it tbf
I do love to come in the way! 😃
Not in the way buddy, just perfectly placed.
I haven't seen cement waggons like those 2 axle Castle Cement waggons for a long time, wondering how old they are ? I'll do some googling.
Interesting to see the 810
Thanks everyone 👍
Dunno what it is with EMR and the nose designs. I don't like them - 180, 222, 810. I love the smooth 8xx look and also the 395s.
I believe they are from the 70's. Definitely my favourite wagon set
Only 5 coaches though… any chance the units will be paired during peak hours
Yes like the 222s
Yep! It's probably the same with the 5 car class 222 which are coupled
I can only guess bud
How come it's running on diesel under the wires? Surely they'd do some electric testing by now.
How boring lol.🥱
What he said
Train travel far too expensive for me to use, but I might just be tempted by 45/1s on the MML.
Travel on a Sunday and you may get lucky.
Hi purple from Dan
Hiya Dan
Can they do 125mph on diesel or just 100 like the rest.
Good question. I don't know

Fingers crossed it's a step above the rest
It's Better Than The Meridians.
I think so but I haven't been on one yet
They’re nice but not as nice as the HSTs.
💯 agree with ya

Fair enough!
You should find out if you can get one named after your good self or your Son 💜
Purple's one is what I'd call it 😃
Diesel?
RUNS ON DIESEL AND ELECTRIC. Was being tested from Sheffield where there is no electric overhead wires.
Yes but they are bi-mode so can run electric when the OHL are complete
Meridians better in my opinion
Hmm
Sorry any idea
All goes well, may 2025

You're probably right and I've seen the state of the other sister sets BUT! its purple 💜
