LINN VAN HEK - INTIMACY (original Terminator video clip)

- This is the original video clip of 'Intimacy,' from The Terminator score and film, produced by Dolceamore Music, storyboarded by Lin van Hek, and directed, shot and edited by Chris Lofven and Chris Worrell. The clip was originally made before the Terminator film was shot and subsequently re-edited by Joe Dolce and Village Roadshow Australia, the distributors of the film, incorporating trailer footage of the as yet unreleased movie.
The song 'Intimacy' was sung and co-written by Lin Van Hek. It was Executive Produced and co-written by Dolce, who also played lead guitar on the track, and produced and engineered by John French and Trevor Courtney, at Music Farm Studios, in NSW, Australia. The record was released by Mushroom Records 'White Label' on a 45 rpm and an extended play 45 rpm dance mix.
It later came to the attention of music supervisor/producer, BUDD CARR, (Alexander, Seven Years in Tibet, Twister, Nixon, Natural Born Killers, JFK, The Doors, Born on the Fourth of July, Alien Nation, Wall Street, Platoon, The Patriot) who chose it for Terminator.
THE TERMINATOR was the breakthrough film that launched the careers of Arnold Swartzenegger, James Cameron and Budd Carr. It has recently been included by the US Library of Congress as one of 25 films being added to the National Film Registry, along with films such as Truman Capote's, "In Cold Blood", James Dickey's, "Deliverance," and the classic Gary Cooper movie, 'Sergeant York."
R.i.p Ginger. She was the best celery drummer of all time.
💯 & her 🥪 🥪sandwiches looked 🔥
Oh man those sandwiches looked tasty.
She never had a chance to try them.
And she was cute with a capital Q!
she'll make a belt out of u !!!
😂👍
This really makes me want to watch "The Terminator" for the 10 trillionth time.
Me too👍
Shit im going to watch me some terminator right now! Should have won "best romantic drama" that year
Ten trillionth, LOL
My VHS tape was warbled at the love making part! Mmm hot stuff!
Why though?? Why are we like this? I’ve been having this toxic relationship with both movies since i was a little kid!!! WTF??
Lmao !! Me too , my first time watching The terminator was when I was 11 or 12... I'm 33 now. And I've watched it over 60 to 70 times. I've lost count when I hit 55 and would watch it everytime I'm with a new girl lol
39 yes later, still one of the greatest movies of all time!
This movie gonna be 40 years old. Omg. Can’t believe it. I remember the first time I saw this was on rental vhs when I was only 2 with my mom and uncle. The actual T-101 metal endo skeleton scared the hell out of me.
31 years later : still a good movie.
+Papi Elric Will always be one of the best movies of all time.
+Papi Elric .......32 years later the Terminator is for real.
Still the best one imo.
Your goddamn right.
31 years later... shit song lol
This is why the 80s was the best decade of all time ❤
No doubt ❤😊
100 percent
❤80s
Indubitably. 👍 ❤
Can we just hit reset and live that decade forever?????? 😅😅😅
It doesn't get much more 80's than that!!
Adam Caffrey All you need is the Trans Am
Back when you had to go out to experience life instead of living it through a cell phone! This movie will be a reference for people to remember what America was like when it was free. We had to deal with terminators but That’s cool
People used to be more "intimate" with each other.
@@blueblade455 and then everybody died of aids
One thing I love so much about the first Terminator, is how the plot heavily depends on payphones. Strong 80's vibe watching it.
What a bout Druve( A Gosling mowie)?
payphones and shotgun shells left out on the counter!
eh???@@georgegordonbrown9522
Same with Die Hard With A Vengeance, except the movie came out in the 90s. Also The Matrix.
Duh, it was made in the 80s....
Don't make me bust you up man!!
I'm afraid Arnie already did bust Matt first. terminator wins and Arnie. don't shoot ginger in the back that's not cool
alex thompson
The terminator does not have no pity, remorse, or fear, and it absoluetly will not stop ever! Until you are dead!
+The7legacy touché
Lmao
The7legacy lol. shout out to Matt, for real. he didn't last even a minute, but the fact he tried hand to hand with Terminator in the first place is worthy of props and is commendable.
I used to think it was 'IT's A MACHINE, It's a machine, ya-ya-ya-ya'
Hah, totally makes sense!
I used to think it was "PIZZA FOR SALE ya ya ya ya" lol
Chip Drusano 'twas too early for pizzas :D
They got popular with TMNT in very late 80s.
I always thought it was "THIS IS THE DAY...THIS IS THE DAY...DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE" (which, of course, is what happened to Ginger)
Jamie Wilson Well, they aren’t wrong.
Still have my vhs copy from 84❤ watch it all the time
This song is so underrated!!
Jesus Christ
Well, the song was played in the background after sex.
THIS should've been a hit song.
IKR.
😔Who...understands Billboard Top 40...anyway?
This song is so kickass...80's style😎.
To hell with charts. It's a hit with me. We can all decide individually what is great.
This is lucky to be in and associated with one of the best movies ever made. Does it matter who was number 1 on the charts that week the movie came out?
R.I.P. Ginger
Gingers death and the Shootout at Tech-Noir...best scenes of the movie. "Hey that guy didnt pay!"...crunch.
police station was also very epic , suddenly Kyle isn't so crazy anymore :)
There are no best scenes in The Terminator......EVERY scene is a best scene
He killed 17 pigs um whoops police officers that night, men with families
In the German version she said: Did you see that? Hercules did not pay!
And the phone booth guy: Look after „asshole“, you‘ll find your number there!“ instead of „you got a serious attitude problem…
This is pure 80s new wave and dont 4got the songs burning in the 3rd degree and photo play.
Dang, I've never seen this before. I saw The Terminator in the theater as a 12 yr old, and this song is one of many things from that film that stuck with me through the years. I've must have seen The Terminator 200+ times. 😮
Dang??? Why not just use proper English and say "damn"? I guessing you must be some kind of illiterate black? 🤣
Uploads like this are what TH-cam is all about
We really didn't realize how fun and great the 80s were!! Damn, I really miss that decade😥😥
Will come back in variations; GAD is the Supreme Artist contrary to the "metaphorics" in divine books of griling hot dogs in Hellfire. He likes to store his creation in better lifetime -all about upgrades, if you will-
GAD owns everything he created and "uses" as characters. We are lucky to have won the lottery towards Heaven; all we have to do is just let HIM do HIS work...
I wish I could remember 😢born in 77
@jamesbevin2723 You can’t remember your childhood? Damn, growing up with nevending story, the goonies, hulkmania lol. Good times
The best Terminator movie
....There is really nothing better than the 80`s taste.
It would of been more exciting if the entire cast was dancing in this video including Paul Winfield as Lt Traxler. May he rest in peace.
....Damn yeah {:~)
Impeccably great taste b/c the porn star business mentality of the reptilian brain had not yet desecrated the art form> Now everything is porn.
Music to make a sandwich too...
Ginger ? Is it you ????
TheNaturalPatHarris Be careful with the iguana...
Lol nice one👌👍
Don't forget the milk
And to die for.
55 people are gonna make me bust 'em up, man!
Had no.idea this was a real song hum ok cool dudeacool awesome❤
Filme excelente, musica excelente, enfim uma combinação perfeita.
Thanks everyone on behalf of myself (Chris Worrall) and my colleague Chris Lofven! At the time it was one of a series of clips we made for Joe and Lin..(Joe was well cashed up from "Shaddap you face" and it came down to pay a motza on tax or use the dough to produce deductible projects.) We had no inkling of the Terminator connection at the time. Lin's performance was brilliant as usual and her dancing boys were great! Big Fun!..oh and Annie is my wife..somehow coming up under her name..Check out more of our stuff as Lofven/Worrall..
You and Chris (2) were masters. I wish you were still doing them.
Buena historia, gracias por esto
That movie was absolutely brilliant everything in was perfect I love that film so so much😊
if your going to listen to headphones whilst being murdered look no further this is your song!
😅
Movies in the 80s were so ballsy. Nothing about this song screams "robot from the future who rips out your insides, steals your clothes and murders 80 people in the space of a day." But it works. You'd never get that now. Can you imagine a up beat song in one of those shitty horror reboots? The Terminator is a sci fi horror, yet the soundtrack is very funky.
NoMoreHideTheBall That's one of the greatest explanations I've ever heard. Then again, the terminator theme itself is pretty dark. I hear Intimacy and I think of Ginger, I hear the title theme and I think of Governor Arnold.
James Cameron is a genius with this film Sarah's life is destroyed her friends killed mother killed Kyle who dies saving her life and carries Kyles son John which in T2 we see the hard as nails Sarah because of all this horror.
I saw THE TERMINATOR back in '84 and always liked the new wave music in it and wondered all this years what these guys looked like.
[RING, RING, RING] Hi, there. Fooled you. You're talking to a machine. But don't be shy. It's OK. Machines need love, too. So talk to it and Ginger, that's me, or Sarah will get back to you. Wait for the beep. [BEEP]
So ironic we hear her say that right after a machine kills her brutally
And that "machine" sure had the worst timing for certain too! (L.O.L.!)
"Ginger? this is Sarah pick up if you're there. I'm at this place on seacove blvd called tech noir! I'm really scared, I think there is someone after me, uh, I hope that you plaY this back soon I need you and Matt to come pick me up as soon as possible. The police keep transferring me around I'm gonna give them another try. The number here is 555-9175. CALL ME KIDDO I NEED YOUR HELP!!"
“Ginger this is Sarah, pick up if you’re there?!…”
@@RainReignsX”I’m at this place on Pico Boulevard called “TechNoir!”
How did I miss this pure 80s jam?!?
Totally Rad 😎👍
This is so 80s and its so POWERFUL!!!
This movie in 1984 was ahead of time and I LOVE GINGER
Don't make me bust you up, man!!
A little fight in you. I like that

Poor Matt Buchanan
Dude from Roxanne! Right
34 years and still my favorite movie. Throwback to the 80s
Why do soundtracks have the best music❤
This is why I love TH-cam!! I’ve been looking for this song since the 80’s! I’m a dope DJ.
I was born about 10 years too late (1987) to experience the 80s when this stuff was new. Shame, they look and sound like fun times.
I know your pain. I was born in 1986 20+ years too late
I grew up in the 80s
I want to go back so badly it hurts
My parents have sung this as “it’s a mistake” my whole life. They are in shock
Same here! Before I even learned English it was "It's a mistake" for me and then shock! After 25 years of singing "It's a mistake" last year I found out it was "Intimacy" 😮
I'm the same, always thought it was its a mistake. Trying to decide whether this has ruined my childhood.
@@dwaynehicks6714 We never should have found out...
I could never figure it out lol! Since I was 5 years old been watching this movie in 1984 …. I thought dick oh Moe day hahahahaha!!!!
Lol! For me it was "flippin' the flame" hilarious. At least I'm not the only one who heard it wrong. I still sing it to myself "my way" even though I know what it is now to this day. 😄
Ya Ya Ya Ya Great tune of the 80's,too bad it wasn't on the charts...
As a kid, I always thought it was "it's a mistake". What a great video. Thanks!
"Flippin' the flame" is waaay off. But hey I have massive attention span problems. 🤷🤷🤷 Oh well I'll keep singing it to myself my way lol. 🤔
I thought they’re saying “it’s a machine”
Into the sea.
@@sboloshis1188 This was my first hearing too.
A treasure this is....awesome fucking awesome!
40 years later still best movie ever
And nearly the same hairstyle as Ginger too!!
yeah your right LOL very cool
Brendan Richards even funnier, look at the purple dress she has on at 1:40. similar to the silk nightie Ginger had on to go get her last ever sandwich from the kitchen.
Brendan Richards
UNCANNY.
Musta turned down Cameronz INTIMACY, advancez.
I was gonna say, did anyone else notice she looks like Ginger from the movie? But some of y'all did hehe
This is a rare gem!
Terminator has became addiction. Can't stop to watch & listen its OSTs. Evergreen Sci-Fi movie.
Never seen this before in full, they even show the t-800 from the end of the film, love that song and love that film !
Best movie ever!
All these years I was CONVINCED that it was ‘It’s a machine!’
And its 40 years old this year ❤😊
I cant believe 35 years later this song is Arnold's ring tone 😎👍👌
How do you know that?
INTO THE SEA

GRACIAS CHESSLOVECHILD POR SUBIR ESTE SUPER CLASICO Y CONVERTIR A THE TERMINATOR EN EL CLASICO QUE ES... MUCHAS GRACIAS.
Love it.
One of the best soundtrack of all time.
RIP Matt and Ginger. Pugsly the iguana probably died of starvation since Sarah never went back to the apartment.
😢oh right
i Love That Music Video its Cool!!!
80’s music just had a way better hit then todays
Looked this up as I was making a sandwich in the middle of the night. Good sandwich music
This video has everything I've ever wanted.
one of the best songs describing the terminator :)
a real music !! 80's awesome. i research & listen since 2000, 80's music and don't finish researching.
especially Scarface and The Terminator Soundtracks awesome.
Joe, I bought a 16mm Bolex camera from you in the early 90s, and you were shocked that I knew both you and Linn (can't help it, I'm a music credits watcher). Got to meet you both, when I picked up the camera ... very fond memories from a film geek.
This is sooooo coool😮🤖🤖😻after 41 years😮

I love the terminator movie. It brings me back to the days when I was seven, back in 1989 my mother would pick me up from kindergarten and I always wanted her to put this movie on, my old man at the time had a vcr and had recorded the movie from HBO. Ha the good old days of vcrs, and vhs tapes. Great memories, I have to admit the first time watching this music video was when I was in the us army and we we're doing training maneuvers out in Australia. It's tripy I didn't even know there was a music video to this song, I just thought it was one of those no name songs you heard play once in the background of the movie. But hey one terminator fan to another, thanks for putting the video up boss.
This song - really gives me the 80s
Woaw i never seen that before it s a real discover thanks for sharing
Linn Van Hek's unforgettable song has been danced to by people in their underwear from around the world for over 4 decades now.
Woooo!!
I was a teenager in the 80s (blessed) and lived in LA. I dont remember this lovely gem being played in any radio station. Neither kroq, kmet or kiis fm for that matter. It should have though
This is soooooo 80s. I dig it. I'm a 70s baby.
Rented 'Terminator' from The Video Stop way back then and about 5 friends and myself were watching it. When it got to the part where Ginger, Sarah's roommate put on her headphones and this song came on, our friend Grace started moving to the music and singing 'paper mache' instead of 'intimacy' 😄
This is the most 80's thing I've ever seen.
Poor little Ginger !!!
Lorenzo Di Venezia she should have played dead
Lorenzo Di Venezia
@ least she got laid, whilst njoyin sum INTIMACY!
Poor little Ginger is right, especially after what I do to her. Hot
do u think she listened to the same intro as this song?
@@rickweir1039 ???
This is perfect
We kept renting the video back in the 80s so that we could constantly pause when the terminator sent ginger flying, we wanted to look up her nightgown😂
Better than mortal man deserves!
I love this song and video. Can't find it on napster... BUMMER
Me humming this song for nearly 40 yrs in my head brought me here… Didn’t realize this video even existed… It all has come full circle for me now… Ya, Ya, Ya…..😂
😅mint
this video is fire
Honestly, I thought the lyrics were "it's a machine."
I thought, "weird lyrics, but makes sense for the movie"
Beautiful.
A movie, a legend...
great use of the teaser trailer on Village Roadshow's behalf. i stil get the creeps from the concept art of the terminator (especially the close ups of Arnie's face)
Great track, I know they sing: "Intimacy" but I can't help hearing "Into the sea" as well :)
Love this song ❤
Love this song! So 80's!!!!
Voice is brilliant!
R.I.P. Ginger
I've been trying to find this song forever! I was about 7 when this movie came out and for some reason I remember this song. In my head it was just "Da da da daaaa. Da da da daaaa. Yaa yaa yaa yaa" lol
I finally found it!
