Pulisic has been working on his strength, he was easily pushed around now he is attacking and defending better physically. He is composed and helps out defending more than Leao like you mentioned. @@footballkush Idk but I think there's an allowed area. However, I heard other analysts say that after checking multiple angles, they saw it rebound off of his chest which would make it legal. Idk really, but a win is a win, and this one was totally deserved.
The first time i saw the replay I swear it hit his upper but the more I saw I really think it came off his chest so I think that's what they saw in the var so when its not clear you go with call on field
I didn't get the Maignan red card either but he didn't seem to argue. Giroud is so awesome. Not easy to fill Maignan's gloves lol. You know Giroud was about half a centimeter from getting a spike in the eyeball on that save. I agree...Pulisic did get a favorable call on the goal. All i can think is the ball hit his chest more than his arm. gotta catch some breaks in this game. Chukwueze is a good player and will make a contribution to the team throughout the season. however, Pulisic should be ahead of him and i'm not gonna question Pioli's decision on that call. Pulisic is at another level of play than Chukwueze. Pulisic won the game for Milan and Giroud saved it lol.
It's generally the case that players who find themselves outside the preferred 11 end up playing a lot with rotated lineups along with other players outside the preferred 11. That's the life of the player trying to break into the preferred 11. Also, Chukwueze has started 3 of Milan's 10 matches. Against Newcastle he started with Leao and Giroud. Against Cagliari he started with Pulisic and Okafor. He hasn't been thrown on with garbage. He just hasn't been that good so far. I hope he does better. I think he'll do better. Pioli has obviously been trying to get him minutes to get him integrated with the team.
Well said!! Stop making excuses for his performances. Sometimes it’s ok if People you didn’t predict to be great end up being one of the teams best players lol
I think Theo was looking for that yellow. There was probably conversations with the manager as well that it's better to get the accumulation over with and restart the counter in this game and miss the Juve game instead of risking missing the Napoli game. I think it was the correct decision, we can handle Juve's right flank without Theo
By that logic he should've gone for second yellow or direct red after 85 mins of game against Lazio because could've bailed out Genoa more easily than Juve without him?
As always, very nice breakdown. IMO, Mike was super ambitious going to head those balls. In real time I was just like "holy shit he's absolutely wrecking these guys". I wasn't too surprised for the red, especially after seeing it in slow motion. That had to hurt like hell taking a knee to the chest/chin area with that kind of momentum. Though it was amazing to see Giroud not only step in, but step up. Then after Martinez got his 2nd yellow, they stopped the advantage from Leao when he could've went down and likely scored with no one in goal. After that I didn't feel as bad about the Pulisic goal standing. I believe that they didn't have 100% clear evidence to overturn it or whatever, so ruling on the field had to stand. Either way, we'll take the win!
I feel the decision of Pioli to do all those rotations was initially a good idea however after inter dropped points earlier it added extra pressure to win which had an effect on the new boys to perform, so I wouldn’t get too carried away with them not being super good this game.
Adli looking good. This is a big call, I know, but he reminds me of Pirlo a little. Now going back to reality 😂, he seems to have the quality to be better than Krunic in that position, but still needs more experience. Just gonna keep improving step by step and he could be a great asset
I watched the goal Pulisic scored from a clear angle in frame by frame. It did not touch his arm. I was surprised. I think the position of his arm and the manner in which it bounced from his chest made it appear that it hit his arm.
I agree it did not touch his arm. His arm is pulling back leaving the ball hitting the side chest shoulder area. It's very hard to tell as his white shirt makes it impossible to distinguish between his arm and body. At the end of the day because it was called a goal on the field there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call. It did not clearly touch his arm. It was an obvious error to overturn. Furthermore, if you put aside the current interpretations of handball and think about what the spirit of handball actually means (i.e. handling the ball with the arm to create an advantage when the arm is not in a natural and reasonable position) then this isn't even close to a handball. There was no advantage gained, deliberate or not. His chest controlled the ball. If his arm was hypothetically amputated before the game it wouldn't have changed the result of the play at all.
Watching that last 20min was fantastic, two keepers sent off and a great goal from Pulisic. Having Mike and Theo out for Juve is a concern though, but overall Giroud playing in goal for the last few minutes was amazing
A little late to this one Kush but this was a solid character win for Milan. Against an opponent they should've beaten more soundly but kept it together to come away with all the points. Games like this, while frustrating, are the games that make champions. Giroud stepping up to done the gloves was fun, inspiring and nerve racking all at the same time. Every player went to him after he smothered that ball at the end. Musah was great and has really stepped up with the injuries. His play means that they don't need to rush anyone back before they are ready. He's shown he's worthy of a starting spot. The disappointment for me comes from the decision for wholesale changes to the lineup. Pioli loves to have these "lines" almost like he's a hockey coach. From the front line why can't one or two be rested at a time? Why all 3 at the same time? At least he isn't having the full squad change at the same time like last year. With the signings this offseason I was hoping we wouldn't be relying so heavily on just a few but it seems like it's the same old story. There was just no bite to the attack at all, lots of possession with nothing to show for it. It's going to be a very tough game against Juve with the absences.
Hard game in Genoa with only 48 hours to get it ready. The Marassi was on fire 🔥 and fans super excited to beat us… but somehow we did it BELIEEEEVE ♥️🖤
Mike definitely deserved that red card... I love the man, but if it were up to me, I'd give him additional game suspension and even fines. The way he jumped up knee-first in the opponents neck/chest could've sent the opponent on a wheelchair for the rest of his life!! It is normal for goalkeepers to jump with this "knee-up" technique in their own box to give themselves an extra protection in certain "corner-like" situations where they are in their own box and have the right to protect themselves from running strikers by putting up one knee and I understand this technique of jumping is instinctively natural to him as a goalkeeper but running outside of the box and jumping the way he did at an opponent sprinting towards the goal was extremely reckless and dangerous....both players are very lucky, this could've resulted in a tragedy.
Chukwueze needs to learn to use both feet. Suso for all his other shortcomings did it, it is doable and will improve his game so much. The difference in playmaking ability between Jovic and Giroud is enorm, it is early to hit on Jovic but it is also night and day. Okafor should continue to play in the middle but in his defense it was his first bad performance. Maignan needs to do what he did, it is pretty much a red card but there isn't really much else he could do and he also got the ball. Of course you can also send the other guy into coma in that situation, that has to be said as well, it is dangerous. I think if he had only half touched him with the knee the ref may have let it slide but with the full frontal contact the dangerous play guidelines are probably too strict to allow any leeway in interpretation.
Agree, Maignan had to make that play, it is a red but he got the job done. Chuk is good on the run but he looks weird when he is still or defending, like his legs aren't really attached to him or something, idk how to explain it. He doesn't have control of himself when hes not running forward with the ball.
I understand you want to give chuwk some time but lets be honest he has been given a lot of opportunity to show he skills but I feel like he isn't confident enough with the ball and he is always trying to run and he outruns himself and loses the ball. if I am wrong let me know but chuwk rn is not in good form yet...
We didnt need Chuck, we could have kept Sala and still be gold on the right, actually we might have been better. We could have used that money for a back up LB
Actually all you guys who say that Pulisic's goal was a handball are looking at the WRONG VIEW. If you look at views from the side of the field or at an angle from the goal towards Pulisic's back before he turns, the ball and his right arm are simply projected on top of each other. It's simply an optical illusion based on the 3D locations of the ball and his right arm superimposed on top of each other onto a 2D image (see my example of how I can get you to think I have touched the Moon, below). There is simply no way to tell from these superimposed views whether the ball is touching his arm or is one or two or 10 inches away from his arm, simply because the two structures are SUPERIMPOSED on top of each other. The key is that there is actually a view looking straight at the goal, and looking straight at Pulisic's chest at the moment when the ball rises up to the level of his chest, where the ball is NOT superimposed on top of his right arm - in this view, the ball bounces only off his chest and as he turns, he bring his right arm AWAY from the ball and HIS RIGHT ARM NEVER TOUCHES THE BALL. So, all you people saying this was a handball need to FIND THIS VIDEO SHOT OF PULISIC CHESTING THE BALL CLEANLY AND TURNING WITHOUT EVER TOUCHING THE BALL WITH HIS RIGHT ARM. And then you can STOP making these STUPID UN-INFORMED comments about this being a handball. Seriously, think about it. It I take a photo of me pointing at the Moon, and my finger is superimposed over the Moon on the 2D photo, are you going to then conclude that I am actually touching the Moon with my finger? The one photo you need to prove that I'm NOT touching the Moon with my finger is not the image projecting my finger over the Moon, but a different angle, as perpendicular as possible to this other projection, that shows the full distance between between my finger and the Moon. Here are the video views that shows this WAS NOT A HANDBALL th-cam.com/video/UGKhYwy37P4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/UGKhYwy37P4/w-d-xo.html
I thought Chuck played alright. In the third minute he puts in a beautiful ball that Okafor couldn't convert. He also had a couple of other nice balls into the box. His issue will be that he is too one-dimensional in that he gets the ball on the wing and tries to dribble people. Its not going to work against low-block opponents. Pulisic is picking his spots and making better decisions which is why people claim he is disappearing at times and not being aggressive enough. In actuality he is making tons of runs to put him into space that are constantly getting ignored. If Milan had a better playmaker, played quicker, or were making the extra pass rather than being selfish then I think you would see him with the ball in dangerous spots more with a chance to score / assist. If he constantly tried to dribble people a la Leao, he would be dispossessed a ton (like Leao). People would be up in arms about it.
It's was a dangerous play defo when you jump for a header you don't have your knee in that position.last 15mins was insanity.your content is amazing forza milan
We could have been 2 goals up but the ref blew the whistle too early just to give a second yellow to Genoa keeper. Leao and pulisic were through on goal for an empty net
why does chukwueze need to take over the right wing position when pulisic is playing how he is? he’s only 25 it’s not like he’s on his way out of his prime. pulisic should be starting every match if not for rest or injury.
I couldn't that last 10 mins was real, what a game ! Giroud was so good with that save, being an out field player ! Even regular goal keepers might not of done that!
So now Pulisic is a *target man* 😁 Yunus' cross was fizzed at Puli who took it down beautifully, but then he didn't fiddle about with it trying to get it to his favorite right foot... he turned and shot with his left. Now... I don't want to get on the kid too much, but it was Bartesaghi who put Maignon in the position where he *had* to charge out of his box. Bartesaghi let a ball over the top bounce where the Genoa striker could get on to it. Mike did exactly what he should have done. And... it was a red card. But hey! That gave us the opportunity to watch Ollie do something we'll never see again 😁
As to the Non handball. A player can score with their shoulder. The rule defines the shoulder as from the jersey sleeve up. That's where the ball hit... off his chest into his shoulder and down for the shot. If he had stood still it probably would be handball, but he was turning so quickly to shoot that it never hit his arm on the way down.
Chuck is not ready to be a starter. Maybe in a couple of years. He's got to be able to do more than make an occasionally good dribble. Other aspects of his game are rough. That is not going to be fixed in one season.
No tenemos esos 2 años, si no rinde debe irse y darle oportunidad a luka romero que ya a pesar de ser joven parece mostrar entusiasmo, la serie a de italia es una de las 3 grandes ligas y por ende chukwueze debe mostrar su valia
Lets break this down. Pulisic is playing out of position. His last two goals have come from his weaker foot. He is improving on the defensive side of the ball. He is tied for leading scorer on the team and has more goals than the "fan favorite" leao. The fact anyone is talking about chukweezie over pulisic, is either because they are anti american, or overhype other players. Everyone is replaceable. Including leao. You either perform or you are benched. Pulisic is peforming at team high levels.
This is not Tottenham-Liverpool game that communication was ridiculous. If VAR check on this goal says no handball, there is gotta be rules defining if that was a contact by the arm or if the arm was still considered as part of the body. Today we still do not hear anything about the call as a blown call or someone apologizing. So I do not even consider that was luck. What was lucky should be that freekick hitting the crossbar. No way Giroud could have done anything if it was going in. Maignon’s red card is justified. Not because of intention. He was outside the box and it would have been a red for outfielder hitting someone’s head/neck with the knee. So it is just the unfortunate incident for him. Next game against Juve will be tough without him and Theo… Hope Kalulu is back as sub (Florenzi on left and Calabria on right) so we do not have to play 3 man defense again.
omg dude, just accept Pulisic is better than Chuk. And I don't dislike Chuk at all but if you swapped stats Pulisic would be getting KILLED by you right now, not getting excuses of better 'service' from Giroud and Leao
In Real time the Keeper challenge looked like an NFL tackle and with the freeze frame it had to be a card for dangerous conduct. I get he got the ball but if the player was a little shorter he'd be knocked out.
Damn, i never knew Giroud was a good goalkeeper 😂😂😂. But seriously he has done a great job and actually kept a clean sheet. Davide Calabria was responsible for Mike getting the red card i mean how can he lose track of the genoa forward? Mike had to do that otherwise it would have been goal. I don't know what pioli sees in pobega and Calabria and they were not even included in the Italian national team. Florenzi is the only Italian that has been playing well and u can include bartesaghi too. I hope Calabria doesn't play against PSG as he has to deal with kylian mbappe. Its great we got the win and and at the top of the the table over inter but they need to do a good job against a surging Juventus. Milan management needs to bring in good Italian players like beradi of they want to maintain the Italian image of the club. Lastly, a pretty disgusting behaviour from the genoa fans , i mean just because ur team conceded a goal u r going to throw thrash on the opposition players? It was happening all the time throughout the game. Milan needs to file a complaint with serie a about Genoa fans behaviour 😡😡. Also pioli should give Okafor another chance in the game against Juve and let leao and smauel Chukweze start together.
The images on the goal are inconclusive. You can only see the ball touching the chest, to overturn a decision taken on the field, the var has to have no doubt whatsoever. The red card was a red card. He hits the player before hitting the ball. No biggie tho, he had to do it and if he could have anticipated the action by 0.2 seconds it wouldn’t even have been a foul.
Tbh i dont think there is clear shot that demonstrate the handball, during the broadcast they showed 4 different angles and only in 1 suggests a touch in the arm but its not clear at all. On maignan´s red card that was a big mistake on the referee, mike wins the challenge and jumps in a natural position as a gk, on the replay you can see mike preparing to jump for the challenge and the striker still goes to that risky challenge, the knee hit is a cosequence of that, not a deliberate attempt to hit the player or stoping him directly. There was no foul and no red card but since he sanctioned the foul the var had to intervene since considering that a foul means the red card, so Var was on point this match but the field referee was TERRIBLE
Chuk was doing fine in the game. I just think he needs directions told to him on where he needs to be in certain attacking plays. He needs to get himseof in the box as Musha and the full backs can cross and he can get to the end of those.
In real time, I thought that was completely fine but definitely understand why it's a red card and not sure I would argue against it. The only thing is that if that were in the box and Maignan caught the ball with his hands, I think he wouldn't have gotten carded. Nevertheless, I think it was a fair red card. What ensued afterwards was as exciting as the 2022 WC Final... insanity! Grande Giroud! Man can't help us score lately but at least he can help us not get one in on our net as well.
that's a scudetto worth save from Oli ... the upside is that Theo and Mike will be fresh againts PSG and Napoli (which I think is more dangerous then Juve) .. that is assuming they don't get injured playing for the national team ..
POSITIVES: Thiaw and Tomori continue to impress. Giroud made a great save. WE ARE FIRST!!! NEGATIVES: We did almost nothing offensively for 60 minutes. Theo's idiotic yellow and suspension.
Not a handball for multiple reasons #1 arms and hands in a natural position inside the body frame... #2 by current rules nothinh anove the elbows is a handbalp if arms are in a natural position inside the frame of the body
I adore Mike, he's the best but he almost killed that poor guy. Theo is one of the best LB in the world but dirty player and a diver as well. Giroud is a knight. Chukwueze and Jović must fight for their places. This is neither Villareal nor Fiorentina. This is one of the greatest football clubs.
Pioli: Ok, abbiamo bisogno di un Custode, chi è disposto a farlo?🤬 Pulisic: I am-. ☝🏼😃… Giroud: Uh, excusez-moi, Chris. ✋🏼😌j'ai compris. Oui oui? 🧐 Pulisic: 😶
Your still shot doesn't show it hit his arm. It doesn't really show anything. In motion, the video from that angle may show something, but only if there is a deflection of the ball that only makes sense to have happened from the arm. You cannot tell depth from a telephoto zoom long shot. Video evidence needs to demonstrate a clear and obvious error. That means there needs to be little doubt that the ball hit the arm to overturn the no hand ball call made by the referee. It's not enough to conclude "It probably hit his arm." In any case, from other angles there's no suggestion the ball got anywhere close to that low on his arm. If it hit his arm it was most likely high on the arm, perhaps high enough that it wouldn't be a handball anyway.
No was Florenzi gets a green. The 4th goes to musah or Pioli himself for doing the opposite gameplan he did from dortumund and taking off okafor and especially chukweze for CP. I’m sorry but when are we gonna realize pulisic, although different from Leao in attributes is literally just as influencial and is maybe a fraction below his level of not on par with him. Pulisics passing, decision making in the final third and finishing is better. And this isn’t some 2 game sample size. It’s a 5th of the season. Chuckweze had a myriad of chances but only Lost possession time and time again. And pulisic demonstrates his elite skill and finishing under pressure afain. Also Rafa needs a call out for a poor second half. If you hold others accountable when they go quiet do the same for someone who was supposedly talked about in the same class as mbappe and Vini Jr. Said it before and I’ll Say it again. Pulisic will lead this team in GA and Rafa and he will be so Close but that’s what will help them win scudetto. Forza Milan!!
It *probably* was a handball, but according to protocol, VAR needs to be 100% sure to overturn the onfield decision. The fact that the replay had some doubts (although minor) meant they couldn't overturn the decision.
Mike's foul really was a red card. That's a knee to the throat. Besides that, the game was crazy at the end and we got vital 3 points before a crucial month.
There is alot wrong with how Pioli plays. The players don't either know what to do with the ball or just give it away. I have been a Milan fan all my life but even if we are on top of the table, we don't play sh*t, we were so lucky today same with previous match

When Inzaghi scored the first goal to Liverpool in the 2007 champions league final, the ball had hit his shoulder and upper arm, just like it did Pulisic's. So, unless the rules have changed, I don't think there's any issue with this one.

The first time i saw the replay I swear it hit his upper but the more I saw I really think it came off his chest so I think that's what they saw in the var so when its not clear you go with call on field
Yeah, I just see Arm every time 😅
I didn't get the Maignan red card either but he didn't seem to argue.
And on the Pulisic goal, call or not it was an incredibly clutch goal with innate and perfect timing...
He was very good against Cagliari, just hasn’t gotten those contributions but let’s not forget that performance.
I dunno McKennie and Weah are no slouches and Weah can beat people for pace without a sweat.
@@wuxiagamescentralit’s not all about pace
@@FournovateWebsiteExpert it really is if we're gonna have to see Kjaer fill in for any amount of time
As always, very nice breakdown.
De echo eso mostró que pioli debe ser más ofensivo, ya que depende de la recuperación, si preciona más podrá ser mejor
What a match! The important thing was to take home the 3 points! Let's go guys!
keep up the good work kush, really appreciate the video

Adli looking good. This is a big call, I know, but he reminds me of Pirlo a little. Now going back to reality 😂, he seems to have the quality to be better than Krunic in that position, but still needs more experience. Just gonna keep improving step by step and he could be a great asset
Krunic is probably still the starter but Adli’s upside is tremendous!
The ref stop a potential attack for Milan to give Genoa keeper the red card, he should have allowed the play and give the card later, am only saying
I agree
💯
Hard game in Genoa with only 48 hours to get it ready. The Marassi was on fire 🔥 and fans super excited to beat us… but somehow we did it BELIEEEEVE ♥️🖤
You had Milan in 1st in the preview, you saw it clearer than many!
I was so bored I went to the cinema and then my phone was blowing up and hearing giroud was in goal I couldn’t believe it
😂
Come on Milan ❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤

Giroud ❤🖤
Did you notice the defenders were not screaming for handball? That’s all the proof I need. The VAR was icing on the cake.
Good job bro ❤🖤❤🖤
We didn't sign chukwueze for both feet. Let's give him a break
@@obainomilano It makes him too easy to read. For 4m net wage it isn't really too much to ask for improvement.
Chuk just needs time and minutes, the guy is too proven to have to change much. Needs that goal and assist to get him going!
I understand you want to give chuwk some time but lets be honest he has been given a lot of opportunity to show he skills but I feel like he isn't confident enough with the ball and he is always trying to run and he outruns himself and loses the ball. if I am wrong let me know but chuwk rn is not in good form yet...
~200 minutes is hardly enough time, don’t let the appearance count fool you.
We didnt need Chuck, we could have kept Sala and still be gold on the right, actually we might have been better. We could have used that money for a back up LB
I somewhat disagree, Pulisic has exceeded, Chuk has underwhelmed, just how this sport goes sometimes.
Why is this dude always so hung up on Chuk, when you have a clear goal scorer and chance creator who is earning the minutes? That’s the point.
The guy was just acknowledging that Chukwueze played well while saying that Pulisic has earned the starting role. Seems fair to me
Actually all you guys who say that Pulisic's goal was a handball are looking at the WRONG VIEW.
Here are the video views that shows this WAS NOT A HANDBALL

He's a good player but not a starter really
Which one?

What a game!!

why does chukwueze need to take over the right wing position when pulisic is playing how he is? he’s only 25 it’s not like he’s on his way out of his prime. pulisic should be starting every match if not for rest or injury.
Pulisic has to start, no doubt.
Bartesaghi made the game far more exciting! 😅
@@footballkush
He certainly did 🤣
Chuck is not ready to be a starter. Maybe in a couple of years. He's got to be able to do more than make an occasionally good dribble. Other aspects of his game are rough. That is not going to be fixed in one season.
No tenemos esos 2 años, si no rinde debe irse y darle oportunidad a luka romero que ya a pesar de ser joven parece mostrar entusiasmo, la serie a de italia es una de las 3 grandes ligas y por ende chukwueze debe mostrar su valia
i feel so bad for passing out during half time i wanted to watch the game so bad but im still happy
Giroud epic game! This is fun AC Milan team
#Pulisic2024
Main downsides from this match is that theo and magic mike are suspended for the juve match😅 forza milan
The way juve are playing I’m not worried
After the match I saw some videos of him in training stopping some training ground shots too!
Keepers are taught to jump w/ the knee for protection BUT those privileges don’t apply outside the box
forzzza milan.. giroud did a great job..
It was a fair red card. Nobody goes into those situations looking to hurt the other guy but if you do. So it was the correct decison.

Florenzi is more efficient than Calabria in terms of positioning and situations reading but that traded for the lack of support for the RW
I love pulisic but chukuwueze is not getting a fair look by fans. He’s actually good
I think from the start you said Chuku would be the starter. So, yea u are not pulisic fan and its ok to admit.
I like the comments you made, Theo needs to behave as a leader & a captain, how can be a captain?
Yeah, he definitely shouldn’t be a disciplinary liability for his team in a key season.

Nice for calling that goal a hand ball because it was 👌🏾
Meanwhile, nice shirt bro
It was not. The ball landed near his armpit rather than his hand. Multiple angles showed as much.
It's not enough to conclude "It probably hit his arm."
In any case, from other angles there's no suggestion the ball got anywhere close to that low on his arm. If it hit his arm it was most likely high on the arm, perhaps high enough that it wouldn't be a handball anyway.
Exactly, it needs to demonstrate clear and obvious error. Which this doesn’t, but.. it’s a handball for me.
Hey Jovic is decent his stats say it.
Chuckweze had a myriad of chances but only
Lost possession time and time again. And pulisic demonstrates his elite skill and finishing under pressure afain. Also Rafa needs a call out for a poor second half. If you hold others accountable when they go quiet do the same for someone who was supposedly talked about in the same class as mbappe and Vini Jr. Said it before and I’ll
Say it again. Pulisic will lead this team in GA and Rafa and he will be so
Close but that’s what will help them win scudetto. Forza Milan!!
It *probably* was a handball, but according to protocol, VAR needs to be 100% sure to overturn the onfield decision. The fact that the replay had some doubts (although minor) meant they couldn't overturn the decision.
Didn't look like handball to me

Mike's foul really was a red card. That's a knee to the throat. Besides that, the game was crazy at the end and we got vital 3 points before a crucial month.
There is alot wrong with how Pioli plays. The players don't either know what to do with the ball or just give it away. I have been a Milan fan all my life but even if we are on top of the table, we don't play sh*t, we were so lucky today same with previous match
