Thanks for sharing Marco. I am on my 2nd attempt for level 2 and found it incredulously overwhelming in terms of the calculation, terminology and concepts. I found it very challenging having to study, understand and practice.
In fact I found it a mad rush for time doing revision and practice prior to the exams.
Is there a recommended exam prep provider? I have used schweser and edge designations but it is not aiding in my understanding of the curriculum.
    Thanks for the guidance!

      Hello Eugene,
I recorded a video on prep providers that I recommend you to answer your question:
      th-cam.com/video/L6s3UUPXx1I/w-d-xo.html
Upon reading your comment, it gives me the impression that you may have begun your prep a bit later than you should.
You probably already know my stance on the start date for the preparation, but to answer your query, I only used Edge for the mock exams.
With less than 2 weeks' time, you cannot afford to lose more time with the curriculum.
Practice as much as you can and use the solution to really understand what you're being asked and only then refer to the curriculum to confirm the concepts of the questions.
For further questions, please send me a pm on LinkedIn.
Wish you the best of luck for your exam.

@@marcoafonsocfa thanks, have pm on LinkedIn.
WRT edge, Russell is a great instructor, however, I found his materials are not updated and has many unrevised learning points. The good part is that it compels me to reference the learning objectives from the textbook and the annoying part is that I wasted lots of time trying to pinpoint the info only to discover that it is an unrevised one.
Moreover, edge designation app is poorly maintained, and most recently, the qbank had to be transferred into the link in google classroom.

      @@marcoafonsocfa thanks have PM’ed.
Russell of Edge is a great instructor. The good part about the this prep provider is that the ans requires one to constantly cross ref with the textbook becos the material is not revised accordingly.
In the same breath, the disadvantage here is that it waste too much time trying to find the correct info only to realise that it was from the previous curriculum.
I have used edge both for L1 & L2 but found the app and system severely lacking. For example, the qbank was previously on learn2 but for some tech reasons, edge had transferred the qbank into google classroom and have it saved into pdf.

    Hi Macro
    I am CFA Charterholder too.
I know that CFA charterholder are exempt from Level 1 of CAIA but is there any other criteria to know to get exemption. Please note i just become charteholder 2 weeks ago.

      Hello Krishna,
      Thank you for reaching out.
Yes, besides being a CFA Charterholder with a clean record, you need to:
      - Have a CFA digital badge (such as the one we get from Basno).
      - Have no CAIA exam history.
So, if you have never registered for a CAIA exam before, you should be able to get the exemption.
Of course, your request still must be approved by the CAIA Association.
Feel free to send me a private message on LinkedIn for further questions.
      Best of luck!

      Hello, thanks for the comment.
The worth of CAIA will always depend on what is your current job and what are your career aspirations.
By itself, it never hurts to go for the CAIA as you'll learn a lot.
However, you must be aware that Wealth Management is by and large a more exclusive career path and so it is relatively more difficult to enter the industry, especially if you make a mid-career transition.
It's your decision but be aware that even with any designation you may not be able to go into Wealth Management.
So, if you're willing to go through the program without that expectation and by adopting an approach of "I am going to maximise my learning experience and see where does this knowledge takes me", then go for it and you'll be fine.
Hope this helps. For further discussion send me a message on LinkedIn.
      Cheers
