In 1984 Starlgiht was waaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of its time with its "diverse" cast and did nto beat you over the head about it. Look around any theater in the US and England...guarantee you that it will be 98% white Caucasian. Where is the diverse audience that need to be represented??? Please educate me.
It was waayyyyy ahead of its time, that is why other musicals in the 80's were called Mega-Muscials like other ones like that like as you know like : Cats, Les Mis, Dave Clark's "Time", Mutiny, Chess, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, etc
Andrews like an over excited child. I like some of his early shows but I hate it when he's suddenly trying to re image or up date it as suddenly we need to be all woke or pc or tick boxes .it should be still based on who you hire can thay sing can thay act .and if so can thay bring that story your going to see alive instead of preaching the woke message at you

When I saw Starlight 40 years ago Rusty was played by a person of colour as was most of the cast
