great video. some questions. 1. Do you charge other drone pilots to list them on your website? 2. Why did you chose the drones you use over other thermal drones? 3. You talked about what a pet owner may ask prior to hiring a drone pilot. My first question as a pet owner would be, How much do you charge? That wasn't covered is this video. Was that left out on purpose?. I've been flying for 7 years, just recently passed my Part 107 and will probably be purchasing a thermal drone shortly. If that happens I'd be interested in connecting with you. thanks

Yes, we charge to be added to our map. We plan to be rolling out that info shortly. We chose the M30T for many reasons that I mentioned in my reply to your comment on a different video. It’s simply the best option currently. The cost for us to come out can vary depending on circumstances such as travel. I don’t know what other pilots charge but around $450-$550 is a typical base rate. Definitely reach out to us when you’re ready to purchase, we can get you set up with everything you need to get flying.

I've been wanting to get a drone for this very reason. I wonder if you could start experimenting and see what the temperatures of certain pets are given weather conditions and energy exertion. So that lets say you have a 30 pound dog, it's sunny and the dog could be running or resting, you know what the temperature range your drone should see that pet at. Then configure the thermal image to highlight anything in that temperature range. You could have a publicly edited spreadsheet that a recovery drone operator could filter based on pet size, type, weather, humidity, and outdoor temperature. There's also another technology that highlights movement. So given a reference point on the screen the technology amplifies any pixels that are moving. They've used it in baby monitors to see a baby's heart beating and breathing! Not sure how that tech would work on a flying drone, but it might be worth some experimentation as well.

Yes we have talked about these types of experimentation. In cool, overcast situations the thermal drone is almost a slam dunk. In sunny weather, it becomes more complicated. Just yesterday we were successful in sunshine with a dog at rest.

Nice job guys. Way to set the bar. Iv been flying for 5 years professionally and making a living mostly cinematic FPV fly through videos. Pet search and rescue has been a request pretty much on a regular basis. I’ve been out with regular drones and they just don’t do the job. So we finally picked up the Matrice 30 T and are making this a priority service on menu of drone services with 24 hour dispatch. Building out website pages this weekend a going into video production, and training in the 30T everyday until we feel comfortable with it. I’m also on the local volunteer fire department and we are setting up the first country wide rapid response sUAS team using my 30T until a grant comes through. I’m in Marietta OH. Hit me up sometime if you in the area and let us know if you ever need mutual aid. Subscribing to your Channel. Happy flying!

Thanks for watching, we will definitely keep you in mind! We are just east of Columbus so it’s good to have a contact in your area. Your FPV stuff looks interesting. That’s one drone area I have not yet explored but have been “back burner” interested in.

What a great job! This would be a fun and fulfilling job, flying drones and helping people.
Question: with these drones costing over $17K, you'd have to have 35 or 40 jobs just to break even, right?
Are there even that many jobs/calls in a 1 or 2 year period?

Great video guys, just wondering how you believe the M3T would go in this application? I understand you guys use the M30T. Keep up your great work fellas!!

It’s our opinion that if you’re serious about doing pet recovery, the M30T is a must. The weather resistance, speed, battery hot swapping capability, 200x zoom are just a few of the big advantages. The only real reason you would go with M3T is price. And that comes with a lot of trade-offs.
