    Great overview of Teslas top attributes; just curious as to why you drive a Lucid 😉

    FSD...10 years from now some people may think that it was a value. But at that point they would have to buy it again since it doesn't transfer. Great videos, keep up the good work.

    One other great thing to mention is Tesla Service. I noticed a musty smell from the cabin air filters in our 2022 RWD Model 3 with the LFP. I went online, priced the filters and watched a few TH-cam videos on the ways to replace them in the car. Then, I decided to look up how much additional it would cost to have the filters changed through Tesla Service. I pulled out my phone and went in to the Tesla App. In Service, there is an option just for that specific job. You can book a service appointment right through the app, the tech responds and comes to wherever the car is and replaces the filters. I also asked them to spray clean the condenser to avoid a repeat of the smell.
    While the tech was at my home, they replaced a warranty/recall item I didn't even know was needed (trunk strut), checked the tread depth of the tires and the psi. Paid through the app and received both paper and electronic invoices. Fabulous service is a strong point with Tesla.

      So how much additional was it to have service replace the filter?

    Dave, good video you missed one important feature. I love about my Tesla their at home service although I had to use it once to address a recall they were able to do with my own garage

    Yeah, I only test drove it, but it was FUN. I love the firm, tight sports car feel of the car. I live in New Jersey and am waiting for the NJ incentive to return hopefully in July, $4000 off the hood. And you don't pay sales tax on EV's in NJ. So many Teslas on the road here and now I know why. Best EV on the road for the price since the Tesla price drop.

    One thing I really hate about our M3 is no “auto dimming sideview mirrors”. Well, wife hates it more due to her sensitive eyes. Other drivers driving around with brights on without realising. I cannot even retrofit them because good ole Tesla bloody decided just not to have the connection wire so there’s that.

  • @nms0

    Good point - How many manufacturers are actually improving the software and not just fixing bugs. So your car is not improving, just delivering what was promised to you. Tesla is getting new features you are not even expecting. Huge Tesla advantage!

    Funny Dave & Kathy, these are ten positive things about Tesla, and you gave short shrift to EAP and FSD. You rightly forgot that EAP included: “summon”, automated lane change, autopark and nav on autopilot. These are features, all of which, don’t work that well with the exception of auto lane change. So $6K is an elevated price for basically one feature that works flawlessly. FSD, as you mentioned is too beta.

    • @scottbreseke716
      @scottbreseke716 ปีที่แล้ว

      I kind of like the Summon. It helped when I had parked too close to a thorny bush. I had it back up a bit so I could get in the driver's door better.

    • @bluedog9935
      @bluedog9935 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it’s ridiculous that autopilot doesn’t include auto lane change. Or at least allow the car to remain in autopilot while the driver makes the lane change. It’s not a big deal, but still…

    Is there no way to silence the satnav voice turn by turn instructions in a Tesla? That voice would drive me mad but then my electric Mini S E has a HUD to show them in front of my eyes……..

  • @Yanquetino
    @Yanquetino ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Supercharger network; OTA updates (great, but to be fair… some updates have made the car worse, not better); ease-of-use via phone bluetooth; regen and one-pedal driving; cabin pre-conditioning; driver assistance (EAP is one thing that an update made worse, "standard" AP is better, more than enough I've found); dog mode (I use it all the time, Rivian has pet mode, Hyundai Kia Genesis utility mode, but… I also put SIGNS in the windows, as people don't bother to look at the screen); sentry mode; dash cams; entertainment (meh… jingle bells, farts, video games… all fun at first, but lose their charm quickly); safety (hope to never test it!). I would add: energy efficiency (much better than many EVs) and more important than any other positive: NO TAILPIPE! That's the main point of EVs in this climate crisis.

    even with all of that I need a heads up display before I can consider converting from Taycan.

    • @LordStevie
      @LordStevie ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t do it. I test drove a Taycan RWD, it rides a lot nicer than my Model 3. Yeah, there are trade offs like weak regen, no one pedal driving, Porsche doesn’t believe in driver assist, it’s a driver’s car. It would be a stretch, I’d have to give up my FSD and quicker 3.7sec 0-60, but I’d love to have the Taycan.

  • @LordStevie
    @LordStevie ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Put down the crack pipe, Dave. When you were talking about FSD, you said that the other brands like Porsche, Audi, Lucid are catching up, that’s only on the highway, and in some cases only on mapped areas of the highways. None of them come anywhere close to what FSD does ON ANY STREET! Yeah, it was sketchy back in December, but a much better system now.
