Dance gavin dance is flawless all around, Will swan is such a good guitarist, matt mingus is an amazing drummer and Jonny`s amazing vocals make them a great band. The EP Whatever I say, is royal ocean=perfect.
Facebook showed me one of my "memories" from 11 years ago. It was a simple post that read, "sailing in the dark isn't smart kids." I was confused for a sec. What the heck did I post that random phrase 10 years ago? Then it hit me.......Emarosa!
I did an essay and i referenced this song to a part of my life. The way i did it was that Jonny Craig was talking about "perfection" deciding our lives and "watching over us". Being that Jonny was atheist i think that he is saying that religion plays a major important role and in his case it held him back. So now he's "swimming in this lost ocean" to seek out the directionless lives that we live without the influence of religion. Just my interpretation =)
In the documentary Johnny actually said that he just makes up his lyrics on the spot and they don't really mean anything. Like he was just drunk and saying stuff that sounded cool. I was bummed to hear that
1:50 - 2:10 this part alone makes this my second favorite track after the Past Should Stay Dead on this album. But man this album is just so damn good all around.
most defiantly, unfortunately thats just how it is for instrumentalist in general... Vocals are easiest for the idiot mass to follow. I find it ironic "Music listeners" find that the actual Instrumental music goes right over their heads

Bring such sweet memories
I listen to this song on repeat at work for hours. Cause I too feel like i'm swimming in a lost ocean.
2019. And neither Jonny nor Emarosa will ever be nearly as successful as there were together as they are now seperate
Bottom line is that he’s screwed up in every band he’s been in

I love Johnny Craig's voice. it's so soulful.
This song has that authentic sound, just saying. It IS an overall great song!
Rise Records has many good bands Emarosa being the best of course.

Jonny: brilliant but flawed
That’s a great description. He’s made great music with every band he’s ever been a part of.

@mlerkin23 No, it has always been on the album...
To this day Jonny Craig will forever be the top g in vocals
Do you think the other band members know they were outshined by Jonny? I don't even know their names.
Is the album cover meant to be those little furry things that stick to you when you're walking?
It was the record label.
@leron240sx it's a record label
tabs for this song?
This ain't Google, mate
This band is great! I wish they had more technical riffs and more energy... then again I am pretty sure then they'd just sound like a DGD imitation.
Who is DGD?
Reno Dance Gavin Dance
Reno Dance Gavin Dance. Jonny Craig was in tht bands for a couple albums (the same singer from Emarosa)

I wish Jonny Craig wasn't such a wasted talent. He just can't get his life together
Pssht! That's why I's be bringing a flashlight, bruh. xD (The ['s] was intened for slang. It's no longer funny after the explanation.)
most defiantly, unfortunately thats just how it is for instrumentalist in general... Vocals are easiest for the idiot mass to follow. I find it ironic "Music listeners" find that the actual Instrumental music goes right over their heads
