JACKYL is Hair Metal and not Southern Rock. You do know Southern Rock was directly in the face of Country, Right? Country Music in the kingdom of Nashville never recognized them and they were a little tamer than Hair Metal. So man, Georgia Sattelites? Total Southern Rock. Jackyl? Total Hair Metal. But honestly it is about the music and the attitude and not geography.
Never considered Jackyl a "Hair Band" , even though they came out in that era. Jackyl is straight up a Rock and Roll band....always had been, always will be. That's why they are still putting out great music
I always considered the late 80s and early 90s to be a strange transition period. They had the long overly teased hair, but ditched the glam thing, and the music got considerably less campy. Bands like Guns N' Roses, Jackyl, Ugly Kid Joe, Ozzy's No More Tears Album, Metallica's Black Album, etc also served as the bridge from 80s hair metal to 90s grunge and alternative.
Tesla and Jackyl were guys in metal bands with Long hair, but they weren’t hair metal per se. Tesla was more traditionally hard rock, and Jackyl is Southern Hard Rock imo.
Jackyl : One of the Greatest Southern Hard Rock Bands of all time, in my opinion ! It's criminal these guys weren't more internationally recognized ! Jackyl ROCKS !

I'm Brazilian and I met the band Jackyl on a trip I made to America in 1994. As life is amazing, I still listen to the songs and smell the cd I bought at the time! Here in Brazil the band is little known, but I helped to spread its legacy 🇧🇷
I remember a free concert these men gave...i waited to see them for over 8 hours and I was the first one there. Jessie spotted me from their bus, he was impressed and just for that I was able to not only meet the entire band they posed for a group photo with me.... These guys are truly down to earth and they know how to rock and they make their fans feel important. I do not know if any of them will ever see this but if they do I would just like to thank them for the great show they performed for free for all the fans you guys were AWESOME...
Did they tell you they love the thought of you going down on them? I’m asking for a friend. 🤣 Seriously, not sure why this song popped into my head today but TH-cam tells me what I need to remember & shit. 😉
I've seen these guys in concert every single time they've come to town, and they kick more and more ass each time! God, I miss the 80's... LONG LIVE JACKYL!!

Started listening to these guys as a kid got the CD from my uncle. Right when the first one came out. Now after all these years I finally get to see them in September. Going to kick ass!
If only we had more bands like this nowadays that have their kind of attitude and not the sad bastards who dominate most of the world of rock music today.
PUH-POW! I usually don't comment, but I find it amazing that back then, all us young folks had to worry about was being able to buy an album. Now that I am in my 60's, I got kids in the neighborhood coming to me looking for something to eat! Thanks Joe. 😑🙄😡
Stony, a friend that Iived next door 2 me,used 2 be a bouncer, in club in DC,one of the many bands he had the opportunity 2 see live while he was working there! He sure was blessed!
WHEN JACKYL CAME TO A BAR IN RENO, NV FOR A SMALL CONCERT, YOU CAN BELIEVE SAMMY AND I HADDDDD TO SEE (OUR) BAND PLAY. WE GOT TO SPEND SOME ABSOLUTELY GREAT TIMES WITH JESSIE AND THE BAND DURING AND AFTER THEIR SHOW. THEY ARE SUCH COOL GUYS, IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO OUR THOUSAND QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR SONGS, THERE LIVES, FAMILY, ETC. THEY ANSWERED EVERYTHING. SAM AND I JUST HAD SUCH A BLAST THAT NITE. SO COOL! THANK YOU, BABE. I REMEMBER THAT NITE STILL, VERY WELL...ALWAYS WILL. HAPPY BIRTHDAY,BABE
I was so lucky to see these guys live in a little bar in Kennesaw Georgia near where I am from! I was thinking about them today and clicked on this and I swear it sounds just a good as the first time I heard it! I admit I have a bit of hair envy right now watching this video!:)
I saw Jackyl open for Aerosmith at the old Memorial Aud in Buffalo, NY in Dec. of 1994, a week before my 18th birthday. The first concert I could drive myself to, and cram a bunch of my friends into my '82 Datsun 200sx RWD hatchback. It was snowing, we took the Skyway anyway. Slid that rustbucket sideways into the parking deck. I've seen Aerosmith a dozen times since then, but Jackyl was the most awesome opener...drinking out of Castrol GTX cans, shotgun strapped to the mike stand, and Jesse finished the Lumberjack song by chopping up the bar stool he'd been sitting on.
haha - nice story! I wonder how Aerosmith was, though, by 1994. "Slid that rustbucket sideways into the parking deck" hahaha. I like Buffalo a great deal, by the way (might be different if I lived there, though).
loved these guys from the first time i heard them,,, but now looking back,, its like if. Extreme and Skid Row had a metal baby,,, this is the result,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, love it
It's a great song from back in 1992 when i heard it on my radio in my car. It brings back a lot of memories for me when i got my first job and was on my own.
So love them!. I used to do my exercises with their CD. Been watching full throttle lately. Love all y'all! Here in TN. Maybe I can get out to full throttle.

That's what I was thinking.A gold top,and a JR.Coudnt have picked two better guitars, but who knows if that's what they are actually playing on the album.
One of the absolute most underrated Southern hard rock bands. Show some love.
I just seen them under a month ago, great live band!
Down on me ,Beautiful!
Yes! One of my faves & you rarely ever hear them unless you look for it
Still love the 80s hair toss

when I first heard them in 93 I thought a southern version of AC/DC. been a fan since.
They do a song with Brian Johnson
I was thinking they are a southern version of acdc as well..alot more sexy though 😮😊😅❤

these guys were so underrated, i still listen like they just came out. we gotta keep this music alive.
Ya sure it doesn't sound like a bunch of middle aged musicians in a group project for a community college 1 credit music composition elective?
