    Had the pleasure to fly with Joris today, in reallife, for the firsttime as we've only been "flying and controlling" in the online environment in the years before. Now, being a FISO radar controller myself since last year, this flight has helped me to understand even more how important flight information can be for situational awareness and at what times and in what situations it is more helpful than in others (into the sun, hazy conditions, more than 2NM out etc) Appreciate the video!

    It is good procedure to cross check the heading indicator against the runway direction right before take off. This is because it takes some time for the gyros to warm up, so checking the direction with the compass usually creates a deviation later in flight.

      agreed, i usually set my heading indicator after start and then check it again after runup

    Thank you very much for your interest sir! Cessna has 3 engine types (so 3 variants of the C172) some use a carburated version but others use a fuel injected or diesel system. These 3 variants use different procedures for starting. You describe the one for a fuel injected engine so not a carburated one (as seen in a piper on the video) If I'm honest I don't know what happens, but if you follow all the checklists you will be always fine. ;)
    Greetings and happy landings, Finsent0

    erg gave video, had vandaag de eer even met captain kniep een gesprekje te hebben op het online IVAO netwerk over de PPL. maar ik had eigenlijk nog 1 of 2 vragen waarvan ik benieuwd was of hij die misschien kon beantwoorden, en of ik hem die vragen op een manier kon stellen. ik hoor graag van U, groet Lejo

    One thing that was not done was checking the local altimeter. The altimeter was showing -100 feet the whole show here...

    • @finsent0
      @finsent0 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First of all thanks for watching! The check 'instruments' also includes setting the altimeter with the QNH given by tower. The field has an elevation of -20 feet, but I guess that the tower gave us the incorrect QNH.

    So push the mags to start with full mixture inn? Not like the cessna were u gotta wait for the engine to start fiering before u introduce mixture. What would happen if u cranked the mags on the 172 with full mixture?

    Is there any possibility that you can email me the checklist for 50 hour inspection and 100 hour inspection checklist? for piper 28-181 Archer 2

      Dear viewer, I do not have these documents. This because I don't own and fly the aircraft myself. Thereby these checks need to be done by a certified maintenance center (in The Netherlands) Experimental maintenance is not promoted through aviation and leeds to many incidents, so be careful!

      Hello sir,
      First of all thanks for watching! For so far I didn't had the chance to make a video about all the procedures of the PA28. It's definitely on my bucket list. Hopefully next year, Thanks for the suggestion.

    Couple of mistakes. Altimeter incorrectly set (potentially dangerous) and DI not set against runway heading.

    The field elevation of Lelystad is 12. You didn't set your altimeter and you didn't get the correct barometric pressure reading (or your altimeter would have indicated 12'). That's a terrible habit to get into. Shame on your teacher.
