They have the most gorgeous bone structure I've ever laid eyes on. His (Japanese commenters refer to them as a man, so I'll follow suit) cheekbones are so high and sharp, and the lil faces he pulls are too cute! Plus the perfectly executed ganguro makeup and little skit at the end were adorable :)

How did this style come about anyway? Was it a natural development or did come from some marketing thing?
It showed up in the 90's in Japan, it's a street style that defies the typical beauty standards of their culture, which is dark hair, pale skin, natural beauty, etc. these girls defy that with bright blonde bombshell hair, darker skin, outlandish makeup and an idgaf attitude. It's a rebellious thing that says "I can live my life my way, not yours".
Pretty sure they just wanted to look like Westerners, or more specifically Californians.

it's serious. this was a pouplar style in japan (specific ikebukuro & shibuya in Tokyo). The trend started in the mid 1990s.
