Really like what you came up with. The oak stripe really makes the finished bowl stand out. Great work.

Nice work, l like your idea of filling the recess on the base with your logo disc can I ask if you create these yourself with a laser printer or do you have them supplied.

Thank you. Yes I make the logo discs myself. They really do add a great finishing touch.

Do you worry about differential wood movement causing cracking? I’m thinking of trying this using oak and walnut.

I store them in that same conditions and always check that the moisture content is less than 10. So far all of my glue up bowls are holding together!

That's some of the darkest oak I've ever seen! Around here (mid-Atlantic USA) we don't get any oak growing that isn't light beige and really, really chippy.

Michael, a lot of English oak has picked up a mineral from the soil it grows in. Many time they will actually call it brown oak. I’ve seen some turners using some much darker brown that this piece. Lovely stuff. I wish we could get it here in USA.

Very interesting, and I wish so too. It didn't look too chippy to turn either. Talk about a win-win...unless you are in the USA. Sigh.

I thought the same. Very dark for oak.
