The weird thing is that they are friendly only to us. They hunt everything in the sea : shark, white sharks also, penguin, seal, whales and even dolphins
Its strange that the only wild animal species that are naturally friendly to humans are from the ocean. Sure you might find an occasional friendly squirrel or something, but those are exceptions. Even something like a seal on land, certainly not friendly, but underwater another story
I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE the audio in this video. The laughing and excited squeals are such a natural, beautiful reaction to these amazing sea mammals. I'm sure I'd be doing the same. Maybe even louder.
I feel like these Orcas were like look at these humans…they seem to love us and are easily amused and delighted…let’s put a little show on for them 😁. What a sweet interaction 🥰
This is how humans should enjoy orcas! Humans are on the orcas’ playground. These amazing, intelligent beings should never be captured and forced to spend their lives in a bathtub so sea world and the like can make millions while they kill the orca slowly and cruelly by taking away their will to live. Humans should be humbled and treat this rare opportunity to interact with these magnificent creatures in their natural environment as the blessing it truly is...
I am with you on that... They are born ro be wild and free.. Anyone who pays to view these creatures in aquariums are just as much to blame for their imprisonment.
You should try an Orca steak, come down to the Caribbean and try one and I bet you will keep coming back for more, over and over again. Oh BTW we called them "blackfish"
Какие они красивые, грациозные, эти морские владытчиц Ы! Так здорово увидеть их в своей стихии, смотрю и дух захватывает, спасибо за эти прекрасные кадры. 👍👍👍😊
Oh my gosh hey I think I would be even more excited they y'all I know my sister would be. Seeing them in the wild is so much more amazing than seeing them in a tank! So lucky!
NZ again, Orcas in NZ seems very familiar with people and really play with them. I watched many footage about NZ Orcas, such a gentle being, who knows, they are thinking these traveller are playing with them, too. You can see that they are social with them, no doubts.
When they flip over that, it means they're in play mode and having just as much fun as the humans. It's weird, but when not in play mode, there's a few videos of them bringing leftovers of what they just hunted and eaten, and they just take off again. Like they think you're in a crisis in the middle of the ocean, and feel sorry for you. So they bring you grub.
I hope I'll get to see a free and wild friendly orca one day.. I bet I maybe both in tears and laughter during that moment. I'm so jealous of the people in this video 😭😍💟
Such a great interaction with these friends. They were enjoying this interaction with you, as much as you were. The repeated tail slaps, and them continuing to follow you was them playing with you. You are super fortunate to have experienced this! I live in Puget Sound (Seattle, WA. USA), and we have ‘our own’ resident pod. They are cherished by the community, and when a newborn in the pod struggles, its a crazy big deal to us as locals… Sharing our water with them is a gift. Don’t EVER discount that view.
@VeroMithril yep but still not advisable to swim near them said by marine biologists and some experts coz they're still wild though.Humans should still keep distance.😊
in NZ Orcas are protected and some have been stranded on the beaches around NZ coast lines but with help from the likes of Dr Ingrid Visser a top Orca researcher in NZ who has helped many stranded Orcas with the help from DOC and the public to refloat them back to sea ,they seem to know that we humans are helping them in there need of help and dont seem to be afraid of human interaction
@@kimberlyh.1090 Luna the orca was wild, but acclimated to humans. if I were there, I would be super noisy so those Orcas would be more excited too! 😬➰ₕₑ➰ₕₑ➰ₕₑ so beautiful and brings tears of happiness. thanks for sharing🧡
From what I've seen so far, the orca in New Zealand are particularly notable for being friendly towards humans. There are even stories of them giving hungry humans fish to eat.
Got a laugh on imagining the orca were actually trying to tell you someone toppled out that little boat and is treading water like a demon about a mile away. "Hey!! OI YOU LEFT A MEMBER OF THE PLATOON BEHIND!!!" *Frantic tail slaps* "HEY WHERE YOU GOING HE'S BACK HERE?!!!!"
Absolutely agree. On the other hand their are millions of people who would never see an Orca in person (and other incredible, wild animals) without SeaWorld and Zoo's. How would you feel about an international Mandate that these places could only keep the animals captive, say, 2 years before having to return to the wild and recapture another. I know that's a little cost ineffective but if I'm not mistaken these places make huge amounts of money. Also I have no idea how long it takes to train.
@@jimkeller3921 The idea that the only way for people to see a killer whale is in captivity is false and delusional. There are plenty of whale watching companies that see wild killer whales on a regular bases, there are documentaries and videos clips online. The idea that you have to see an animal in person to care about them is bs - to put it lightly. Nor is there any evidence that seeing a captive whale or dolphin encourages compassion...it actually does the opposite. Do you know how violent and stressful wild captures are for these animals? Do you understand the amount of stress and frustration it causes the animal to be... 1) ripped away from their home and family (many animals die during captures) 2) placed in a small pen and starved until they accept dead fish (which can take weeks and sometimes they simply refuse and starve to death) 3) being trained to do humiliating tricks 4) contracting diseases and illnesses from humans Captivity isnt a 2yr 'job' and then they are released. Once they are in a captive facility it is almost impossible to get them out. The captivity industry doesnt like to to let the animals go, they fight it very very hard. I highly suggest you actually learn about this horrible industry. Watch clips of the dolphin captures in Taiji and the russian orca captures. Talk to people who know killer whale behavior and culture.
i thiiiiiinkkk am not sure they are thinking the little boot is food or looking for sure what it is.i love this video so much i hope i can see one in real life also
It is known that the area of our brains that deals with emotion is also present in orca's brains. In fact, this area is larger and more complex in orca brains. I wonder if the orca are actually capable of comprehending the emotions of the people in the video, the laughter, the excitement, and they respond in kind. These are without a doubt the most interesting non-human creatures on earth.
Maybe they were hoping someone was gonna jump in and play with them. Unless of course of that's their thing, acting all friendly right up until the moment you jump in.
I hope you get another chance to interact with them. Someone sooner or later will be the lucky ones to make contact. I hope it will be someone that cherish and protect that. I am so jealous and with joy for you.
Awesome video! you guys obviously enjoyed that. I'm pretty sure they were practicing hunting using your dingy. It's a good workout for them and teaches the young ones teamwork. And I'm sure they were having Boat Loads (pun intended) of fun.
Not deadly to humans. Not the wild Orca. Ones in captivity can be dangerous because they're miserable with their small, cramped living conditions. You'd lose your mind, too, if you were suddenly imprisoned for no reason and forced to do tricks just to eat.
I think orca's love how humans squeal when they come around. It must make them feel like rockstars, lol
lmao

I think they sensed your excitement. Those Orcas were having just as much fun as you guys were. Awesome vid.
Even underwater they can hear humans and they definitely appreciate their excitement. 😆

I believe the Orcas hear the sound of laughter and understand what it is. So they play with and entertain the humans.

I’ve sailed and seen orca whales many times, and one spy-hopped very close to starboard, but you got a rare treat! Thanks for sharing this delight.
They actually don’t need any training at SeaWorld to do all those tricks! 😍
The most playful interaction with people I have seen so far.
they like to hear human voice laughing.

Dr. Visser is great. Have seen her school lessons on YT - the children will never forget!
I was just worrying that the motor might cause injuries to them.
All boats should have a cage around their motors. As keen as an Orca is they can get hurt or lose their life from a motor. wake up people.
Wild orcas know better than to come close to a boat's motor.
