    Great stuff! I went to high school with Chuckie Jutras, Charlie’s son. We’re both the same age as Tommy Olszta who might be the greatest candlepin bowler of all-time. Chuckie, like his dad, was a heck of a bowler too. I love watching these shows hosted by Don Gillis, the voice of candlepin bowling.

    i've league bowled for over 40 years and at 70 years old i had my very first 3 strikes in a row and by chance it came in the 10th box of a string. it was like a dream come true for me but i only got a 136 out of it.

    wow, quite the match and even the 1-7-10 hi-lo jack at the end was exciting.

    back in 1967 or so, I worked at a bowling alley in Hillsborough NH. The owner was a steady 120 bowler and had one of the smoothest deliveries I've ever seen. His backswing took the ball to 12:00, and his release left no bounce. The ball usually generated not only exceptional speed, but 'action' when it hit pins. I can't remember his last name! His first was Al. I know he'd entered at least one or two roll offs for the show.

    I just started watching Candlepin bowling and I can't stop. Hubby's going nuts. This match was awesome. What a cool style of bowling. I grew up in Maryland around Duck Pin and now live in FL retired. I bowl 10 pin in a league. I wish I could try Candlepin.

    First and third strings, and obviously the finish, were incredible. That 2nd string was grotesque....

    Thank you for this !! The most amazing match in all of bowling. Look how happy Tom is and the fact that Craig was just as happy for him is fantastic. I do not know how this showed up in my TH-cam feed but I am so glad it did. Look at the 8th Frame , I thought it was over for Tom But no !
    Only way this could have been better if if both of them knocked down those three pins in that bonus contest at the end and it was close !!

    I wouldn't mind a 111 or 112. I'm getting scores in the 70's and 80's. Haven't bowled since the early 2000's. It's still as hard as I remember.

    Do candlepin and duck pin bowlers have their own ball with certain specs like in tenpin?

    • @GetDerezzed
      @GetDerezzed 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope! I don't know duckpin specs, but candlepin balls are made from different materials depending on what you like (rubber, urethane ect.), other than that all balls are the same weight (2 lbs., 7 ounces) and size (4 1/2" in diameter).

    • @Ebinsugewa
      @Ebinsugewa 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Duckpin balls are usually between 4 3/4" and 5" and typically weigh between 3 lbs 6oz and 3 lbs 12 oz

      @rangerodonnel9564 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all candlepin balls weigh 2.7 they range from 2.5 to 2.7 most lanes try to maintain 2.6

    I have never candle pin bowled before, but after binge watching a bunch of it, it kinda seems like they throw the ball way too hard. I really feel like they would get more strikes if they put less mustard and more English on the ball. I literally know nothing about this sport. Is it a sport? Ima call it a sport.
