It was the little Veronese, Gigliola Cinquetti, who at 16 conquered the stage of Sanremo in 1964, to end up triumphant also on the international stage of Eurovision in the same year with the same song, "Non ho l'età". A very sweet song became a global success, a talisman in a world where mass consumerism was established. With her sober presence, her delicacy and her composure that characterized those years in Italy, the "soap and water" girl reaffirmed the importance of chastity on a large stage. From the first verses transpires sweetness, shyness, a certain candor accompanied by small pauses and shy gestures and looks that make that pure, clear voice fly in the air that forces you to remain motionless, entranced in watching a small swan frightened by the power of the words it is about to pronounce ....her voice sounds like a whisper of angels. Two big eyes with a shy gaze, verses that fly in the air from the pure voice of the singer will make this song a symbol, the success of a little girl that the whole world has not been able to resist courting, appreciating and valuing her. Thank you for this one of a kind marvel , it was a brilliant idea to share it here , Italians will be grateful. Thank you ! 😊💥😊💥😊.

Non ?
When I lived in England in the early 1960’s my friends often went to Italy on their summer holidays, and would have records they bought there, this was one of them, along with Tony Renis’ - ‘Quando, Quando’. And of course ‘Volare’. Domenico Modugno. Love all Italian singers!
Those were the times when real honest and pure emotion could be felt in speech and singing. By listening to a song performed in this way, a person understood, even without knowing the text, what the singer is singing about and expressing his story. Nowadays, when I can find a text and a translation in a language I understand, I confirm that I was not wrong.

Angelic and long forgotten. We are seriously regressing as a species. Mother nature will not tolerate us much longer.

@@detdet3871 this song was written especially for Eurovision Song Contest. Gigliola Cinquetti would have been the first. Don't know who wrote it.
