Greatness of this song in my humble opinion is because of Sahir Ludhyanvi's lyrics. Sure Rafi and Asha did a good job singing. But without the lyrics and its deep meaning I don't see this song have its oomph. Sahir sahib - there wont be another one you - We dearly miss your presence in the movie industry.

More than the lilting music, the voice of Ashaji is mind blowing to say the least. Especially, the 'Gamakas' emanating while singing -khuda kare ke quayamat ho -will take the breath away. Even the mighty Lataji might not have matched the versatality Asha has shown while singing this song. Golden voices and golden music of a bygone era. We miss it so badly.
