      @@grottphd9090 Yep, i just stand there and hold still untill failure with a manageable weight.
      Very easy to read progression because of two things:
      a) lets say you do benchpress for 10 reps with x weight.... the progression you have to make to do another rep is far more than just holding weights up for 1 second more forexample. So you can see the progression in real time.
      b) your form lets say on a squat can vary much, and not only your technique but your range of motion, so you may think you have progression but in reality you just had bad form the last time, or you didnt go as deep this time... etc etc...

    This channel is so much gold. Can someone help with a programming concept I haven't quite grasped even after the Build Your First Program series?
    When trying to analyze your recovery, how do you differentiate between the increase in # of sets vs progressing to 0 RIR as you approach the final week? How do I know what really left me toast after the workout - was it the higher sets or the 0 RIR?

    • @jackm7603
      @jackm7603 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably both. But do 1 hard set and you feel similar as before. Do 4 hard sets and you feel screwed. Also RIR and sets to fatigue are correlated. 10 sets at 3 RIR will still tire you

    I found my lats really grew when I started pull-ups and then weighted pull ups, then rows, then pull downs, etc. all strictly up right. Too many dudes lean back all the way with Lat pull downs and manage to turn it into a 45 degree row/face pull hybrid. They just load up too much weight and change the exercise. Then their mid back is huge but you can’t even tell because their lats are barely there.
