I’ve read some horrific novels, extreme horror, splatterpunk, etc. but none have made me as uncomfortable and disgusted as this- hh is a fascinating character, this was an amazingly written novel and the narrator is fantastic. This was a hard read but is up there with my favorites. Thank you for sharing this for free.

Ive read this once before, and i have to say Jeremy Irons did such a phenomenal job. His narration managed to somehow make this tragedy all the more harrowing, and i honestly hope he was alright afterwards. I cant imagine how hard it would have been to get thru.

That I could feel sorry for any character so repulsive, is truly a testament to the author's abilities. I've never witnessed writing this fabulous. And the narrator is the best I've ever heard. This is a masterpiece work, unsurpassed by any I've ever read.

I wouldn’t say it’s unsurpassed, but it is definitely and uniquely masterful coupled with a pretty prose.

Nabokov's writing is always amazing. I read Ada or Ardor before this and feel like it covers similar territory in terms of themes and content-- you might like it! There's an audiobook on TH-cam too
