I am no expert. But I think its a fake.
Genuine Samurai swords have wave pattern down the length of the blade.
Also a grove when used in stabbing the blood can drain out the relieving suction.
No angle near the tip of the blade
Then there is no lettering of the maker or insignia near the handle engraved on the blade nor motto or crest. Or is covered up as shown in the video. But WHY?
    Also, there is no patina,
    No wear on the handle.
Only the hilt ring could be genuine due to significant wear.
In summary the hilt does not match with rest of the sword.
Samurai carried two swords a longer full length and a shorter one for the other hand. The one shown above is the shorter of the two. For single hand operation.
Samurai swords were hand made to order by specialist craftsmen taking into account a number of factors such as their height and arm length, strength, flexibility of the individual, for the samurai by the local chief. Samurai were the ruling class royalty of their day. Not something you could buy in a shop. Depending on status and craftsmen It could take up to 1 to 6 months to make and fit a complete sword.
As such, not given a like for possible fake? or possible misappropriated sword. Placed on probationary boycott list
