Noodles is the only one on OverDrive who actually watches Sens games (he does the colour commentary for broadcasts), and not surprisingly, is the only one who actually knows how crazy good Sanderson is. On a Sens team with both Chabot and Chychrun, Sanderson (as a ROOKIE) was arguably the teams best dman by the end of last season. The hate from Hayes is literally just jealousy that the Sens don't have to pay double digit AAV's to keep their star players happy. Even O-DOG is trying to hate ("what if your core doesn't do anything" 🤣 oh the irony!), but as a former player, even he acknowledges that Sanderson is the real deal. Hayes is unironically sitting there complaining about a big pay day for player saying he hasn't earned it because he hasn't been in the playoffs, but spent all summer saying Matthews deserved ~14m x 8 years despite disappearing in the playoffs every damn year 😂😂
@@SeanDavies-Roy Personally, I would put Sanderson on PP1. In a limited sample size last season, I thought his mobility and passing were on par with Chabot, while also having more elusiveness. Chabot's puck movement was getting bit predictable IMO. That being said, I definitely see the logic of using Chychrun in that role. Like you say, he has a beastly shot along with plenty of PP experience from his time in Arizona. Luckily for Sens fans, Ottawa has 3 really good options for powerplay D-men!

The problem is the only one who earned their contract with the Sens at the time it was signed was Chabot. That can end up real rough with no knowledge of how the players perform year in and year out. This on top of the Korpisalo signing and a still mid-bad defence the Sens have with a lack of depth up front is going to make them a big ? for a long time.

@@DarthChewie The show exists to serve the Toronto market. Since they're already paying for it, TSN adds some cameras and puts it on TV as cheap content. That doesn't make it a non-Toronto show. But hey, if NHL teams want to continue to shoot themselves in the foot by handing out $8m contracts like candy then have to trade good players for a third round draft pick ti get under the cap then I will simply sit back and laugh at them.
Incorrect! First of all he still has another full year of ELC. This is why you're not a GM. Being able to identify elite talent, incredible hockey IQ, effortless skating and a total package like Sanderson… Just saved the Ottawa Senators probably 10, million over the term of this contract. He is Cale Makar level good
They're trying to do a Tage Thompson thing...
Used to be that you got paid base on what you did and now you are paid on what you might do, personally I think it's going the wrong way.
The Ottawa Senators will sign promising players before their entry contract is done to save money. People (not Sens fans) laughed at the Stutzle deal last year. But do u even realize how much money the sens just saved by signing last year, as opposed to signing him this off-season, after a 90-point season?
This panel is so brutal lol. Sportsnet shits all over this network
This isn't a network show. This is a local Toronto radio show that is simulcasted on TSN TV. TSN is much better than Sportsnet.
@@PeterDrake Local Toronto radio show? It's a TSN radio station: TSN 1050. It's a TSN radio station, also broadcast on TSN TV channels. They are literally TSN employees. WTF are you talking about?
@@DarthChewie The show exists to serve the Toronto market. Since they're already paying for it, TSN adds some cameras and puts it on TV as cheap content. That doesn't make it a non-Toronto show. Just a Toronto show that happens to get broadcast country-wide. I'm sure they try to be a bit less Toronto-focused than if they were only seen in Toronto, but that doesn't make it a national show, like the main network shows with Onrait, Hedger, or Duthie. TSN1200 is a TSN radio station. It's also primarily an Ottawa station. The fact that some of their shows also get repeated on other TSN stations doesn't make it a national station. Those shows tend to be focused on non-Ottawa topics, like the business of sport, or women's sports. Overdrive is mostly focused on the Leafs and Jays.
@@PeterDrake I recognize it primarily serves that Toronto market, and I wasn't arguing otherwise. You said it wasn't a TSN network show. I just corrected you by saying it's a TSN broadcast. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
@@DarthChewie Yah. I'm old. Back when local TV stations were a thing there were local shows and network shows and it was a clear divide. I still think Overdrive is more of a local show than a network show, but you're right in that TSN is airing it nationwide.
