Glad to have Tom back on after Rhodes/Black 3. The next video series should be a weekly meet up of Tom and Jack debating the trajectory of Cody. Ending with a xylophone tune from Tom vs one of Jacks outrageous raps of course
My *only* RoH memory is from the dentist’s chair in Sept. 2016 with a remote to change TV channels. RoH was on while they rooted around in my mouth and it got me back into wrestling for the first time since 2004! ...Haven’t watched a single minute of RoH since, but I guess I owe my newfound hardcore fandom to them!
Favourite ROH match for me is Joe vs Kobashi no doubt, that crowd is amazing especially when you hear that Kobashi was afraid that the crowd wouldn't know him
My favourite moment has got to be the formation of the Age of the Fall. That image will never leave my mind. As for favourite match, A.J. Styles vs Adam Cole, hands down. Just 2 amazing wrestlers doing what they do best.
Regarding Angle grapevining the ankle lock... Taz on TNA commentary said that when Angle stands he is asserting more pressure but it is easier to counter, but when grapevined it is harder to get out of but won't put as much pressure on.
2:12:56 Tom doing the Cody voice crack was spot on 😂😂 By the way. If Cody was to challenge Hangman for the World Title and say “I’m challenging you for the title because the fans want to see it and I promised them I wouldn’t turn and I am a man of my word” would be the perfect delusional heel thing for him to do. If he said that then I’d pop huge 😂😂
Pacitti: "Maffew there are some men in suits outside that wanna have a word with you" Maffew: "Strange, I don't recall having an appointment with men in suits......"
I heard this info on the Going in Raw podcast, the ROH tape library that is for sale is everything that was made from 2012 on... All the stuff that Sinclair produced, including the ALL IN footage. Everything prior to 2012 is not for sale because Sinclair Broadcasting does not own the rights to that library.
Tom talking about that defiant show with Walter's chops me an a friend were front and at one of the sides he did it, it looked brutal and made us wince
That jingle after the into to the podcast is very catchy. My fondest ROH Memory (for now) was seeing Jay Briscoe winning the ROH World Championship from Kevin Steen/Owen's. The Briscoes always been ROH and to see Jay reach the top of the mountain twice was fantastic!
I remember seeing PCO lose the title to Rush in st louis. My brother and I were cheering so loud for Session Moth eearlier in the night and the whole crowd was giving bully ray so much shit.
I have many favorite ROH memories. Honestly I have too much to name, especially from when I was obsessed with Ring of Honor in my teenage years from 2014 to late 2016, but there's one memory in my mind that goes back much, much further than that. The first ROH show I ever watched was Final Battle 2009, and the one moment from that show that I still replay in my head, was the moment where Kevin Steen turned on El Generico. Steen and Generico lose to the Young Bucks, Steen teases a retirement speech and then BOOM! He hits El Generico with a low blow before blasting him with a chairshot to the head. Then the last words Steen said were "I hate your fucking guts" That started a lifelong feud between those two, and little did I know that ROH would become a BIG part of my life many years later.
ROH was my first exposure to "indie" wrestling, Picked it up around 2013-14. Crazy how much I remember like them hyping up Mike and Maria's wedding on DVD. Jay Briscoe's undefeated run and feud with Lethal. Wacky gimmicks like Romantic Touch, Delirious, and Truth Martini, Prince Nana. The amazing commentary of Kelly, Corino, and McGuinness. Moose when he was good. Stuck with it until a bit after AEW started.
2:12:28 *GAAAASP* JACK THATS SUCH A GOOD IDEA! "I know I gave my word, but AEW needs a real Champion" OOOOOHHHHHH THE POP I JUST DID FOR THIS IDEA! SO GOOD!
HBK swings chair at Bret as ref started the attitude era. Taker goes after him. Shawn turned heel. Starts DX. Leads to the first cell match (people forget that was a number one contender’s match for Bret’s title) then next month was Montreal for the belt. Mr. McMahon is born. Best rivalry ever is Vince/Austin. Also HBK’s 4 year hiatus (caused by Taker) helps the mainstays of 98-02 to fully thrive like we remember. Boom
Usually the shows here in LA are at VFW’s and they have liquor licenses so we have alcohol. Went to summerslam in Vegas this year and supersized smackdown in ontario california. I got drunk at both shows. Even though the system crashed during the show no one could get alcohol I was able to get 4 tall cans after the shut down convinced the clerk to sell me 4 waters and give me beer but I tipped her heavily.
I know it's supposed to be an old wrestling reference but ever since I learned about it I can only think of the binturong when I hear about "Bearcat" Keith Lee
If only they'd waited two more months, NXT could've made a "Japanese men not understanding western holidays" bit with a little more authenticity: Kushida and Jiro showing up to a Christmas party with buckets of fried chicken.
CM Punk had just debuted in WWE and I was curious to see his early career. I went on Ebay an bought a lot of Ring of Honor DVDs, and CM Punk was in the opening match of the first show I watched. The AFI music blaring the crowd chanting....I was in awe. A few shows in and I watched Punk vs. Joe, and I knew it was something special. So sad to see the decline of ROH in recent years.
A better idea for the woman’s title swap would be a 2 fall triple threat/fatal four way one for each belt between Banks/Flair/Belair/Lynch where you could do the title changes you need to and give us a good match as well. You could even have a finish like Angle/Jericho/Benoit WM2000 match where flair and lynch steal pins to get the victories
Well that’s Tom Campbell proving he’s one of the best in the game by reading this comment and time travelling back 48 hours to say it in the podcast. Love you Mr Campbell
I think Dave said something good about Backstage WWE is when you hear a wrestler was "difficult" like Punk and MOX but when they have left, none of theis "difficulties" come up again . So we have too cautious about what we hear. Also WWE seems toxic, so Charlotte may be in real difficult position and may not be best place.
Tony would do it justice i think . With so much talent at an an all time high , if I was Tony , id keep ROH going . tape library ? shit , cmon its a no brainer if I was him . Cause ya know if it wasnt for ROH/NJPW platform that MSG card wouldnt have happened . Which spawned AEW
"Is Cody oblivious" The guy literally said "at that moment I thought of doing another move" referencing the pedigree. Not only is he self aware, he is self aware to a fault. When he said turning is too easy, I genuinely believe he actually believes that. Cody is in his head and he doesn't wanna take the easy way out. If he turns heel now, he's gonna be immediately cheered. It's cliche nonsense. Cody's gonna get to this heel turn on some rocket science shit...and it's either gonna make him the most despicable heel in the company or a year from now we'll be talking about Cody retiring. There's gonna be no in between.
I feel we have this conversation every time there's a season premiere. It's the network's season, not WWE's season. Networks in the US work on Spring / Fall seasons, which is why fixed-episode TV shows return at those times.
Sinclair really put in a strong move back in 2018 and 2019 in terms of getting ROH on a strong time slot that people know and signed Omega and Jericho I believe they could have been what AEW is now. But, that didn’t happen and I think AEW is doing ROH better then ROH. AEW is the next step in terms of a big time non WWE wrestling company. I think if this news happened in 2025 I could see Tony Khan buying the tape library because he would probably want to get more involved in streaming but I could see WWE buying it because they have a lot of guys who once worked for ROH in that company. I’d like to see Bandido in AEW I think he’d be best there and is one of the best indie wrestlers in the word. Imagine him vs Omega, PAC, Punk, Martin, Danielson, Cole, Moxley and so on. He has a cool look and would have fit perfectly in the WCW Cruiserweight division. Him vs Guerrero would have been a money feud. He is the PWG Champion and I look at PWG as the WWE of indie wrestling as the top indie promotion wrestlers would want to get to. The big non indie companies are WWE, AEW, NJPW, Impact, MLW and it used to be ROH but they are going to become an indie promotion (if they stay around at all)
Glad to have Tom back on after Rhodes/Black 3. The next video series should be a weekly meet up of Tom and Jack debating the trajectory of Cody. Ending with a xylophone tune from Tom vs one of Jacks outrageous raps of course
A debate series isn't a bad idea tbh
My *only* RoH memory is from the dentist’s chair in Sept. 2016 with a remote to change TV channels. RoH was on while they rooted around in my mouth and it got me back into wrestling for the first time since 2004!
...Haven’t watched a single minute of RoH since, but I guess I owe my newfound hardcore fandom to them!
That's very strange
This podcast is nectar for the mind.
That Matrix conversation is an all time classic podcast moment
Maffew looks like that guy you meet in the local that's travelled around the world and plays his guitar after a few beers
You calling him a Hipster douche. 😂
@@angelcanez4426 absolutely not we worship him
Good to see another long girthy podcast from the lads
I thought throbbing was a word they used.
As much as I hate my job I always love seeing 3+ hr run of the podcast ❤️❤️
The best moment of Greg Hamilton was Cena/Styles at the Royal Rumble. Go back and listen to it, absolute perfection.
Favourite ROH match for me is Joe vs Kobashi no doubt, that crowd is amazing especially when you hear that Kobashi was afraid that the crowd wouldn't know him
"We're off to a great start as always" -Maffew

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts, but this is the only one that I HAVE to listen to on day one every week! Go for 5 hours next time!
Wait.......this channel hasn't hit 1m yet?!? TF?!?
Been having a crappy day, but now it’s better. Thank you guys for providing us with great content.
that roh adam pearce joke from Tom might be the darkest thing he’s ever said. i love it
Timestamp? Just finished the podcast and missed it?
My favourite moment has got to be the formation of the Age of the Fall. That image will never leave my mind.
As for favourite match, A.J. Styles vs Adam Cole, hands down. Just 2 amazing wrestlers doing what they do best.
Desert Storm Dracula, is by far, the greatest idea ever conceived. Goddammit that was too funny.
Danielson vs KENTA, Glory By Honor V will always be my candidate for the greatest bell-to-bell wrestling match outside of Japan.
Damn good match
Regarding Angle grapevining the ankle lock... Taz on TNA commentary said that when Angle stands he is asserting more pressure but it is easier to counter, but when grapevined it is harder to get out of but won't put as much pressure on.

I keep turning on radio X and think I'm listening to Tom Campbell but it's Chris moyles 🤣
So tired but still need to watch this
This was my favorite episode… lots of deep stuff here. And it’s all fun :)
ROH got me to love the matches of Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe as a tag team. I also loved MATCHES between them too
Bustin' does mention ghosts, or, well, at least a "freaky ghost bed". Love that version.
Haha, that version is a certified banger 🔥💯

Often I need a mo to find the photo of the Hall Of Fame, but it turns out this week I was looking right at the exact place you've put JR :D
I think the fourth person in the roh match Maffew was talking about was Delirious
Always a joy to see Tom on the podcast!
Turn on podcast, see Tom, know at some point jack will get angry
Waiting for someone to make a "Is this an appropriate use of this meme?" template
I remember seeing PCO lose the title to Rush in st louis. My brother and I were cheering so loud for Session Moth eearlier in the night and the whole crowd was giving bully ray so much shit.
The Triple Jump mug did the donkey work and then made a hot tag! I hope that was deliberate 😁
38:58 Jack nailed this lol
I am absolutely loving how Cody Rhodes character is heel John Cena
i was the guy who @'d you guys on twitter regarding the my way promo package for omega vs hangman

Jack & Tom lol I'm here to see the aftermath of Cody beating Black 😂

Ok, now I want to see "American Dad" Bryan Danielson at AEW
I've never been so proud of a Jack pun
I luv all the cultaholic guys they are all sound
Is this where I sign the petition for "Cult dine with me"...
That was a nice hall of fame pick by Tom
Tom showing love for my hometown 😅
Aries beating Joe, summer of punk, Joe v kobashi..... Good Times Great memories as a wise man once said

With Jack and Tom marking out over old EWR stuff, if y’all ever have the time you should try TEW too if y’all haven’t

Jack doesn't know how to make a hamburger? Is grilling just a rite of passage in America 😂
Gonna listen to this 2moro while I put my Xmas tree up, maybe I should get out more but im kinda excited for it 😁
My favorite memory from ring of honor is 2009-2018 greatest years
Absolutely love Tom. He’s a treasure.
Ian Mcmillan was the poet on ITV.
If only they'd waited two more months, NXT could've made a "Japanese men not understanding western holidays" bit with a little more authenticity: Kushida and Jiro showing up to a Christmas party with buckets of fried chicken.
"Is this how you normally celebrate Christmas?"
*has Santa crucified on the cross*
cliffside flat sounds like the dudes place in tron legacy
Aka roh is toysrus. Ya loved it growing up then stopped caring about it. Now all we have are the memories
Last Rites, yes, but also what about the Testdrive?
CM Punk had just debuted in WWE and I was curious to see his early career. I went on Ebay an bought a lot of Ring of Honor DVDs, and CM Punk was in the opening match of the first show I watched. weird roh related memory i have is roderick strong losing the roh tv title to tomohiro ishii on just a regular njpw tour show. nvm it was honor rising
Is this the Cultaholic Wrestling Podcast?
I really like this video
I just wanna point out, Keith never lost his name. He's still called Keith Lee, they just added the nickname bearcat
Well it's a moot point now, but they did get rid of Keith and just went with Bearcat Lee at the end of it.

Cobra > Humphandle slam. The Cobra was more protected than the OWA.
The bigger companies were letting people go while posting record profits.
Shout out to Triple Jump!
It's Friday again. You know what that means.

Tom!!
We haven't seen Ross Tweddell in a while. Is he okay?
What’s up with the Atlanta talk? I’m playing this in the background
Love how Tom says he's not superstitious then spends a minute explaining his beliefs in karma...
I really do think you guys are getting worked by this Cody Rhodes stuff, I think they're really going for some meta shit with Cody.
5 minutes in and Maffew has fallen apart lol
Where’s “time stamp” guy?? Can’t find where they start talking about favorite Ring of Honor match/memory.
2:58:26
I found it, if anyone else was wondering
they didnt even mention how outstanding Deeb-Shida match was.
just recapped it like it was a nothing match
I agree it's a shame they didn't give it more praise.
The Elite are great during AEW programming but the BTE stuff has gone pure cringe at this point.
Poor DOMINIC , screwed by wwe and had his name gotten wrong on the podcast! :P
