shouldnt the swirling/shaking of the volumetric flask be done after you rinsed it through the wall of the volumetric flask? And the turning the volumetric flask upside down should it be done?, wouldnt the solution touch the stopper and actually affect the final concentration...?
I'm here searching for the right solvent I would use to prepare a stock solution for my plant extract. I was looking for a solvent that would preserve the citral component of th plant extract that I will be using. But I can't still find it 😭
Assuming you have a desired concentration and volume. You find the moles of solute needed by multiplying the concentration (in mol/L) by the volume(in litres) then multiply the number of moles by the gram formula mass of the substance you are making a solution out of and that gives you the required mass.

How much water did you add at the beginning and how the weight of sample
Water at the start shouldn’t affect the standard solution as it is measured at the end in the long neck flask.
