    You are a lifesaver for making this! I am new to soaping and I have been getting so frustrated! I love that you got straight to the point too. No 20 minute lecture first like all the other videos. Looks like I need to get a stick blender!

    I've decided to use (at least for now) melt and pour as my primary soaps for my Etsy store and for the markets I'm going to work this summer. I do CP but right now it's hard to get a lot of those made and then waiting for the cure. THANK YOU for making your videos, they are teaching me a lot about how MP soaps can be adapted and customized, and how they can be just as great of a product to sell as CP or HP. Just deciding to do this has taken a TON of stress off of me because restocking these and making them personalized is so much faster and easier, and I have found some high-quality, amazing bases that are still great for people with any skin type. I was afraid people might not consider my soaps "handcrafted" or "homemade, natural" if I used MP, but as I learn more I see they are right up there with CP soaps, and just as good and beautiful. Blessings to you and wish you continued success!~

    I am new to this, thank you for showing how the stick blender helps w/ oil. I couldn't figure out why my carrot seed oil would not seem to mix in! I used a stick blender yesterday, but it put a ton of air in it. The bars are not very hard (I can actually bend my bars!) Watching this video again I see what my problem was. I should have tilted the stick blender so the air would escape. I will know that for next time. I am making these for myself, so not a big deal because I can still use them. :) thank you!

    How do you manage if some of the additives settle down or float on to the soap base after the melt & pour base solidifies-- Apart from all these ingredients you can also add some powdered rock salt to make the soap hard.

    Love your video, question I added goat milk powder to my base with a stick blended all was good, but the powder seemed to rise to the top of mold once it set. Gonna try again allowing the base to thick in some. Soap was really creamy and still bubbly!

    • @805Soap
      @805Soap  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can spray some rubbing alcohol in the goat mild powder to break it up before adding it to the base, make sure the base is hot...around 135-145 temp to help incorporated the powder into the base...thanks for watching.

    How do you keep your soap bars from sweating? The melt and pour bases that I have used, even the ones that are labeled low sweat feel greasy to the touch or like they are melting when I am trying to package them. Do you let yours dry out before packaging? All of the tutorials I've seen on melt and pour say to put them in shrinkwrap or plastic right away.

      No baking soda in soap. Use lemon or Anise (EO) for hunting or fishing. I'm a woman angler and use Anise in soap and shower the night before fishing with it...it takes human scent and masks it...it a wise tale but after fishing I use the same soap(Anise) and the smell of fish comes right off....lol...hope that helps.

      It could be the base you are using (I got one that is a flat, scored 2 lb slab that hardens instantly). Alternatively, you could be heating it too high, and that is how burned soap reacts.

    I’m a very very new soap maker. I’ve been using the melt and pour soaps for a week now. I noticed that my trace would be great one minute and the next minute it was setting up. I had to put it back in the microwave. I then just use a little fragrance and I mix mica with a little alcohol and mixed it in the soap. Next think I know, it gets thick again .I stir but it didn’t help so back for a few seconds in the microwave. I finally got some soap but they were a little kind of sticky. I’m now running a fan on them. I took one to see if it lathers. I think I put too much black mica in the batter because the lather turned gray. I’m watching many videos but find it very confusing because I don’t know why it is not looking like the video. Helppppppppp. Wish I could find a class or a teacher I could pay. These soaps are to help my daughter in her new store. She is counting on me.
