As a hobbyist woodworker, the vacuum seal was likely so that the wooden box doesn't warp while in storage. Different locations have different humidity/moisture levels.

Hey George, there might be some give and take, as the KANN Cube has a higher output voltage makes a big difference in the sound quality, but the SP2000 provides a higher degree of detail that's especially notable with hi-res audio files and streams. The HP-1 is relatively easy to drive, so there might not be a noticeable difference between the KANN Cube and SP2000 in terms of power, but there would be some improvement in the delivery of detail and resolution from the SP2000.
Mc Mcx i don’t think it’s about better or worse, but more to do with preference. I haven’t listened to the SP2K yet, but many said the SP1K cu had slightly more low end. I imagine this will be the same here
If were going to study Chemistry Copper is more conductive than Stainless Steel (Meaning the electrons can move freely than other type of metal), as Sound Engineer their is an effect in the grounding of your PCB (Printed Circuit Boards), after the DAC converts the frequency into Analog signal, there is a noise signal that will attached to your sound frequency even you have good and quality filters. As a results, some non-filtered signal will filter out the higher frequency and cannot be hear on the diaphragm then the high frequency part of the music could not be heard. Then if your grounding is made of copper, the absorption rate is much better even in the heat. Heat causing by your electronic equipment can cause noise too and copper is much better heat absorption. I think the best metal they can use in the future release is Gold or Silver, it is much expensive but good quality in terms of circuit effectiveness.
The SP2000 has significantly more soundstage, and detail retail in general. The higher res I pushed the tracks, the more it felt like the KANN Cube lagged behind, and the SP2000 really delivered all the new information from the high res tracks.

Oh and one more thing, could I ask you to name the tracks you listened to and what effect the DAC or media outlet had on those tracks, it's a common mistake for some the reviewers out there not to do that. Leaving 'us' out there clueless as to what the DAC is attempting to play...

I think they have to limit the speed of the CPU to reduce EMI. It's all about sound quality.
I agree with the lag which is annoying but all in all it’s a great DAC!

The headphone rule is ~ wired headphones always sound better. The New Apple phones have no hole for headphones. Therefor they will always sound worse.
What would 6vrms for the SP2000 or 12Vrms for the kann be translated to Watts at (say) 16 or 32 ohms?
