This is an excellent video. It contains no vocals except a description of each move. Each movement is repeated slowly, from another angle enabling one to clearly see both hand and feet moves. Thus, move by move you can learn and gain confidence in what you are doing. I enjoy this style of learning very much.
Thank you to those who have presented this video.

HAVE HAD ONLY 2 LESSONS AND I FIND THAT THE ABOVE MOVES CONFUSE ME. IS THE TUTOR DOING THE MOVES FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES/ I CAN'T QUITE FIGURE THIS OUT.

I taught taoist Tai Chi Beginners Classes for many years and went to many Mr. Moy workshops as well as Orangeville a lot - watch the diving the knee should be perpendicular to the floor this is preventing you from from providing a clear example to students who would then exagerate the movement and might cause harm - square the hips - relax and watch the lines

The same people have now put out a video which you can purchase online either as a DVD to be delivered - or as an online link to the same video. I purchased both as I can travel with the online vid - but at home put the DVD through my TV.
I am doing this because I have an inherited condition called Aphantasia - ie I see very little in my mind's eye and must rely on muscle memory and logic to learn the steps. Not everyone can visualise well, and have good visual memories. This video gets me between my lessons and helps me practice. "108 Tai Chi moves" and has the same tutor.

You are not using proper tai chi principles to maintain your balance and grounding. You are over-extending your movements, locking your elbows and not starting the movements from your waist. You might want to try the Chen, Wu or Yang style tai chi.

+Tee Jay This is supposed to be Yang Style,. Everything you said is totally right. I don't think people should post video's like this. There is a reason we agree not to teach at our Tai Chi school unless given permission by Grand Master Fu and this is it. These video's just lead people in totally the wrong direction.

I agree with Tee Jay- qualified or not - one should not attempt to teach Master Moy's form without a proper understanding of the basics. Her form is just terrible.

Westerners are generally more stiff and do not have all the cultural advantages necessary for an implicit understanding of all the subtitles of the traditional forms. I think the exaggerations are deliberate modifications intended to aid beginners and the uninitiated. At any rate, I would say it is commendable to be doing something rather than merely criticizing those who are.

    • @christrevino5620

I would argue exaggerated modifications are exactly what beginners DO NOT need.

It is good you do tai chi, but you chin/nose way too far forward, chin in nape of neck straight, you also seem to float up and over the floor, tai chi players usual sink down into the floor, 'sung chan' grounding sinking the chi, relax and sink! good luck

You should learn some basics before teaching :(
Plant a seed, and get pupils when they can train in the shade of the tree.
