I heard that before duppy singing and dancing around a house ,a visitor come from England to bury a family member and the old duppies was so glad for the rum , curry goat ,and to see the foreigners them dance around the house all night and play drum ,that happen near linstead.
These young ones dnt know how easy life is for some of them now,life was very tough in the pass ,we of to grata coconut for everything pudding, porridge, rice and peas ,drops,gizada cake , some time that milk is pure blood fingers cut and bleed because of the sharp grater, walk for miles no transport,go to the woods for wood fire , every three months i was poorly with running noise and cough blowing wood fire to cook old tough cow skin,all of who born in those time most died and gone ,few left has had very hard time, these young one had it easy and yet most of them turn into snow flakes, and remember with the hardest comes the beating from our parents, looking at it now it looks like abuse but that was the time.
