That could be 1 voice or 10 at the same time. The strings cut like a razor. Peerless. I think, this has always been my favourite song on my favourite album. Ever.
Even if pet sounds ended up being a minimalist, bare boned album instead of the maximalist production I absolutely adore this would still be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard and still the greatest album I’ve ever heard.
@@sclerismockrey8506 Except for the fact that, if I recall correctly, Brian wrote for every single insturment in this album. She was just the conduit, playing what Brian had written.
This album (the first I ever bought - back when it came out) is amazing, any way you listen to it!! Just watched a bunch of studio cuts - great stuff! Thanks for this.

It’s insane to me that Pet Sounds didn’t chart well in the United States. Although, it is also kind of a reminder at how “far out” this album was at the time. Capitol didn’t know what to do with it.
+coolsquirrels Not exactly. It's a special edit of "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) [Stack-O-Vocals]" and "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) [String Overdub]" - both from "The Pet Sounds Sessions" box set - that I put together. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though!
carlmoore19 honestly, I found this through a Google images search; this is fan art by Andrew Kolb (which I hope he's ok with me using for this video along with The Beach Boys (and record label) for the track). I thought it was unique, interesting, very-fitting, and quite cool and I'm glad you have interest in the artwork too. Here's a link cargocollective.com/thirtythreepointthree/05-Andrew-Kolb
Brian Wilson is a miracle.
Agreed. A gift from God that we can all enjoy.

You are all a part of my extended family

In love with this isolated version, strings entry is one of the most beautiful moments ever.
I never thought I'd see the day but in the 4 years this has been up somebody has finally disliked this video, and that's a real shame for them
And to follow up on this, the first dislike happened on Valentine's Day - so maybe a breakup...
The people that disliled this song are probably rap fans
Probably a Beatles fan that couldn't handle complexity of this track.
@@waboom248 you know you can love and appreciate both the Beatles and Beach Boys right?
@@halloweenjack95 I absolutely love The Beatles. But if I had to pick one I would go with The Beach Boys.

Brian Wilson always double-tracked his vocals (as well as the rest of the BB's) in the studio to give it a fuller sound.
Big credit to Tony for the equally perfect lyrics. Gorgeous.
Well stated. I wish they'd used him on the Smile stuff.
This sends a shiver from my scalp to the tip of my toes.

I agree this 100% Paul McCartney says 'God Only Knows' is the best but I'm with you on this one buddy. This version and the album version. 😊

Correct. Beach Boys and Kinks hit the soul. The Beatles less so

Holy shit, it sounds better than original. I think I fell in love with that version.
I wish there was a vinyl of the entire Pet Sounds in vocals only.
there are bootlegs of it if you can ahold of one.
The Pet Sounds Sessions, from 1997. 4-CD boxset, worth buying/downloading if you can find it.

i can only dream to write a song as beautiful as this. the arrangement is also really incredible. that chorus melody is smooth like a new blanket.
I love how the illustration makes it look like Brian and Mike are parents to three small children. 😂
Other than that, good mix. 👌🏻
That's not Mike....the tall guy next to Brian has hair on his head
