Same. Used sticky balls frequently years ago when first teaching. Got fed up with them too, and there’s always one pest that thinks it’s fun to throw at the ceiling or a friend. 🙄
Versatile though, for dart type games, scoring, knocking down targets like cups (tin can alley style) and flash cards, picking up cards off tables, etc. Always found the miniature ones better.
Damp tissue can also work for lobbing, for those without. Tad messy but the kids like a splat.

I don't really prefer playing stickyball except if I could manage to come out with a fast-paced version. For example, I would adopt this game and draw two pizzas on the board at once, so two players can play the game at the same time. It will save a bit more time to let them practice more.

I have worked Sticky ball games, in class. I have used it for mental calculus ex: ( 2 + 17 - 4) the result is on board and they have to hit the number! That is an excellent activity which they enjoy til the bones!! I mean Children - Teenagers and Adults!!

Kids go crazy about stickyball games. The gimmick is just too entertaining for them.
I teach in Vietnam with 40-60 students & only a blackboard a lot of the time. I'm looking at how I can adapt these games.
Up to a certain age, this is all the kids want to play now, plus other versions of the same thing. Thanks for this one. :)
Why the looser of rock, paper, stone gets to expand or bigger space? Why not the winner?
Good question. In this game having a bigger space is worse. It means you are a bigger target for the next person who throws. Nobody wants to be out, so hopefully you can keep your space as small (and hard to hit) as possible.
