- I continue my serie regarding The Battle of Britain with probably the most important and best known German fighter of the war: Messerschmitt Bf 109 E4. This aircraft fought from Spanish Civil War to last day of IIWW, It was drived for the most important German Aces achiving fantastics result along Spanish Civil War and in first years of the IIWW however, during The Battle of Britain it known the defeat for first time…

I know it's not popular but I always love to see a pilot figure within the cockpit. To me, it puts it all in perspective.

To see someone brave enough to put themselves onto a channel is to be commended so all hats off to you. Your work is really great and I think that however you chose to deliver the content is entirely up to you. I'm happy that you share your work with the rest of us so thank you for showing us your skills in building, painting and weathering the 109. Keep doing what you do as there are many of us out there who really appreciate your work.

I really liked the job paint so much, in the part of the landing gear, I am not sure if it is because of the angle of the camera, but I see you got the struts so vertical and bf109 used to have them in a wider position, is just an observation, thank you very much for encouraging modelling airplanes from Battle of Britain era!!
Thank you Ramon!. I think is both, angle of the camera and also that landing gear is not 100% in right position...sorry!.
@@TurbineModels yes all 109's are truly very hard to make a proper alignment in landing gear, what I do in these cases I prefer to glue then before painting so it makes easier the adjustments and later on paint work you can avoid damaging paint hehe :)

I thought you were going to make the pilot Douglas Bader's long lost cousin. I love Gauzy gloss coat, use it on all my IP's. I don't do much with sponges, I like to dry brush. I'm not an "E" guy, because P-47's only dealt with "F"'s and later, but saying that - NICE JOB! Congrats!

Hello and thanks for this nice work! The whole Bf109E model is awesome and I have only one formal notification towards this concrete model. The information from the drawing scheme (at 19:07) is not correct. This WAS NOT a fighter flown by B. Lampskemper from JG 3. This concrete colour and well-known scheme is surely for 1/JG 52 and this "white 12" was flown by Fw. Heinz Ürlings. He had to make his force landing after the combat on September 2nd 1940 and became a prisoner of war.

Thank you! Not exactly, usually I paint with laquer: hobby color, Tamiya and AK Real Colors Set...You can watch more details about this in my videos
The small photo-etched parts are difficult to work with for a beginner. And the 109s paintscheme is difficult to paint with a brush so a bf109 with photoetch is not really a beginners kit.
My point of view is different. The smaller photo echted parts are in the cockpit and most part of them are optional. About the scheme: the kit suggest 5 different profiles, it's not necessary to chose the motling one neither. Otherwise this is one of the easier Eduard kit that I ever have built...

Beautiful work, but just a couple of tiny nitpicks. Firstly, your fabulous pilot looks as if he is positioned way too far forward and secondly, it would look as if there isn't quite enough "splay" in the undercarriage legs. Other than those, fantastic work, especially the weathering. Classy job.

@@TurbineModels The leading edge of the wings and the top and bottom of the fuselage. Every reference photo I can find has a rounded leading edge on the wing and a near invisible seam on the top and bottom of the fuselage. Minimal filler would work. Your skills in airbrush painting are far superior than my own though so please don't take this constructive criticism as an attack.

Luftwaffe pilots uniform in 1939 for the Jagdwaffe were a kind of blue-grey color (feldblau so they called it). Why did you paint it that kind of buff?

No soy un experto en uniformología pero tanto el propio kit cuando lo compré, como la documentación que encontré al respecto apuntaba a un color arena o kakhi para los pilotos durante la Batalla de Inglaterra...por eso me decidí por ese color.

Es verdad que algunos eran kaki, pero me parece que esos los usaban las tripulaciones de bombarderos, y por la forma del casco y las gafas del piloto, parece ser que este es el caso. You need more practices on your mottling paint needs to be a lot thinner like 80% thinner 20% paint low pressure then build it up......
Paul, it depends of the kind of mottling pattern that you are doing, there is not a “magic formula”. Of course, if you are doing a smaller dots an so well defined you would need more thinner and less pressure. It’s not the case with this kit. Anyway, thank you for your comment! 😄
