@@lakrima69 We definitely like Similan more! Racha is lovely though and is a lot easier to access so it's cheaper to go to as well.
The white powdery sand and the clear turquoise waters are so dreamy! I also love all the colorful fish, intricate coral, and of course, dolphins! This sounds like such a fun day trip with lots of cool activity options. I remember going on the banana boat the last time I was in Thailand...that was super fun!

Wow! Raya island is so beautiful! Definitely understand why some call it paradise island with the soft white sand and turquoise blue water, lovely place to snorkel and swim! Always so fun to see dolphins swimming in the wild!
The dolphins were the most amazing part. Such a surprise because it was not on the itinerary as they can’t guarantee that you will see dolphins.
Last year is December we went to Phuket and we also went to these two islands, It was absolutely amazing. I will never forget how my Grandma flirted with our instructor/ tour guide 😂

Those swimming lessons are paying off! That powdery sand and clear water looks dreamy! Tropical fish are always so pretty and colourful (no offence to the little med ones we have😂)

Hello Lovelies! Love the tour of this place! The water is so blue and so clear! Every time we watch your videos we miss Thailand more and more! We are considering going but may have to get the Digital Nomad Visa HAHA. OOO Dolphins! The sands are also looking to be super soft and also really clean beaches which is a total difference compared to Bali. So cool! Thanks for the tour you guys

That water color is so pretty! Wayne loves snorkeling; April has yet to try it. What was your favorite fish you saw? What did they serve you for lunch?
I loved the bright blue fish! It was my first time seeing that variety. They served standard Thai food like Tom yum soup, ands spicy chicken with rice and mixed vegetables.

This is one of the most beautiful islands around Phuket. Crystal clear waters, pristine white soft sand. And all just a short distance away from mainlan.

I assume you are still in Phuket now, I heard they have locked down some areas of the island now because of the covid spikes. Really gorgeous landscape scenes, I have never heard of Raya island but I clearly must go. Who owns Maiton island? Did you find out? Awesome video.
A hotel used to own Maiton island but I do believe the hotel closed now. I’m not sure of the ownership now. Yep we are still in Phuket. So far they have only shut down nightlife. Everything else is open normally.

Oh man, some great dolphins there, they look so lovely. A pity you can't enter Maiton, really wonder how a protected area now looks like in terms of nature.
Maiton looked pretty wild and rugged from our perspective. I don't think it takes long for nature to take over and flourish if humans leave it alone.

No, we decided to just chill on the beach. Kayaking is fun but not very relaxing. It’s a lot of work! 😂

One thing I noticed about your snorkeling videos that may be a useful lesson to others who are new to snorkeling: the inflatable snorkeling vests you wore promote a feeling of safety, but are a hindrance to diving down and staying down to where the fish are.
I wore a partially inflated snorkeling vest the first time I snorkeled in Hawaii, and it was a bad decision. I had to fight hard to get below the surface, so I was disturbing the water enough to chase away fish. I then found that I could not stay down longer than a few seconds before the vest floated me back up to the surface. Since most of the fish and coral were about 10 to 12 feet down, my videos were rather like yours, from a fair distance away, particularly with the wide angle lens of my waterproof camera. I finally took off the vest and could get down and stay down closer to the fish.
So, if you are at all a moderately, strong swimmer, I would recommend that if you do bring a snorkeling vest, don’t inflate it initially and see how you do without it being inflated. I would also recommend getting your snorkeling gear to your local pool and practice for a couple of hours (in the deep end, too so you understand the sensation of surfacing and having to keep yourself floating and breathing without the safety net of a 4’ or 5’ deep pool bottom) before you try it in a real ocean.
If you are not as strong of a swimmer, then the snorkeling vest makes sense and is a good safety device. For anyone who wears a snorkeling vest and wants to get good photos or video of fish, I recommend a selfie stick to get your camera an extra 2 or 3 feet further down below the surface closer to the fish.
Yes, we didn’t know how to swim at the time so a vest was essential.
Hello, have you been to the Similan Islands? Do you recommend more Coral and Racha or Similan?
Yes, we prefer Similan over Racha and Coral Island. Similan has the most beautiful water and islands. I can also recommend Surin Island which has the best snorkeling with the more colorful coral and clownfish. Coral and Racha are also beautiful but are definitely in third place after Similan and Surin. You can check out those videos below.
