Sikkim Flash Flood Triggers Alert In West Bengal And Jharkhand; Heavy Flood In Kalimpong

Sikkim Flood: A sudden cloudburst in Sikkim has prompted neighboring states of West Bengal and Jharkhand to be on high alert following the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast of heavy rains over the coming days. West Bengal has already issued a flood alert for seven districts. As a precautionary measure, residents in the districts of Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and Jalpaiguri in West Bengal have been evacuated to safer locations. Visuals from Rangpo, Pakyong district in Sikkim show the adverse impact of the flash floods on normal life. The death toll in the North Sikkim flash floods has tragically risen to three, leaving many distressed by the sudden cloud burst.

Yes my friend was living in kalimpong.. building went into water.. he also jumped into the flowing river without any option.. he died.. he was missing.. today his body was recovered from gajoldoba

Darjeeling is located high in the hills therefore the flash flood will not affect it leaving it comparatively in a better condition
But the roads that connect Darjeeling and Kalimpong to Siliguri have been severely damaged .
