Few countries have operators w/ as much experience. That’s what makes Israel stand out, they live in the conflict zone in which they continuously operate. As an American combat vet, I’ve gotta say that the Duvdevan impress me the most. There’s a reason their name translates to “cherry” (the cream always rises to the top, and a cherry sits on the cream). You have to think that all of the other units have their squads w/ them, they have their support standing by, etc. Duvdevan operate totally different. Those dudes go into some of the most dangerous spots on the planet by themselves, no support, no squad, just a few dudes by themselves. They run their missions internally, they conduct their own intelligence, they hit and leave. That takes a different kinda person. Aaron Cohen (the dude who trained Keanu Reeves for “John Wick”) is former Duvdevan. Also, kinda cool fact here, but Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu served in Sayeret Matkal (as did his brother, who was the only casualty in the legendary Entebbe raid). Israeli SOF units are all top notch 🤙🏻

It may be a part of the police however they may still be special forces. In the U.S. many government agencies have special units which are referred to as special forces because they go through a tough selection process and get training in similar skills and tactics overall.

I know the army has a unit called special forces however that's why they also call them SF or Green Berets to distinguish them from other units. Also not all other units are considered to be in special operations as they do not fall under SOCOM such as Marine Recon or Ai Force PJ's who are not in special tactics and many other units but instead call special warfare combatants or operators. Also technically since all other units around the world are also not under SOCOM they are not special operators but special forces.

Marines have Recon and Force Recon who fall under marine command and not SOCOM so are not special operations as well as Air Force PJ's depending on whether they get assigned to a special tactics unit which operates under AFSOC that operates under SOCOM or get sent to a rescue squadron which falls under air force command so even if they have same training and go through same selection they are not Special operators but are special warfare combatants or operators. Also the term special forces refers to a specialized unit which is a term used by the entirety of the world to describe the job/type of soldier as such it can still be relevant and used to call a Navy SEAL as such however yes there is a unit which also started to go by the unofficial name Green Berets in order to distinguish themselves from other units because of the name that they chose to go by Special Forces. The rest of the world does not all have a special operations command for the term to be relevant of special operator with exception of Canada and possibly few others but very miniscule to everyone who does not have their own separate command for operators to fall under instead just put them under the main military branch.

I know from friends that in this current war, the Lotar unit is working alongside Matkal, Shaldag, Yamam, and other SF units. They’re one of the top but nobody ever speaks about them.

Yamam is not an army but a Police Unit, still the best of its kind!
It may be a part of the police however they may still be special forces.
In the U.S. many government agencies have special units which are referred to as special forces because they go through a tough selection process and get training in similar skills and tactics overall.

@@Mrcuddlesworth_ special forces is the term for the job special tactical units in general. U can still call any unit that's more than qualified as special forces and not be wrong. I know the army has a unit called special forces however that's why they also call them SF or Green Berets to distinguish them from other units. Also not all other units are considered to be in special operations as they do not fall under SOCOM such as Marine Recon or Ai Force PJ's who are not in special tactics and many other units but instead call special warfare combatants or operators. Also technically since all other units around the world are also not under SOCOM they are not special operators but special forces.

Many other special units can be support like Navy EOD who also get dive, airborne maybe free fall training and tactical skills.
Marines have Recon and Force Recon who fall under marine command and not SOCOM so are not special operations as well as Air Force PJ's depending on whether they get assigned to a special tactics unit which operates under AFSOC that operates under SOCOM or get sent to a rescue squadron which falls under air force command so even if they have same training and go through same selection they are not Special operators but are special warfare combatants or operators.
Also the term special forces refers to a specialized unit which is a term used by the entirety of the world to describe the job/type of soldier as such it can still be relevant and used to call a Navy SEAL as such however yes there is a unit which also started to go by the unofficial name Green Berets in order to distinguish themselves from other units because of the name that they chose to go by Special Forces. The rest of the world does not all have a special operations command for the term to be relevant of special operator with exception of Canada and possibly few others but very miniscule to everyone who does not have their own separate command for operators to fall under instead just put them under the main military branch.
