Just FYI some pickle brands recommend against this because the brine ratio is off once you add fresh cucumbers back into used pickle juice. I'm sure they would taste fine, its probably a food safety issue.
I do this too but I always add back 1/4 teaspoon of sugar, awhole teaspoon of kosher salt, and a cap full of white vinegar, an I personally like to add a squeeze of a half lime because it gives it more "twang"
Yes this works. You will need to add a splash of vinegar and some salt to compensate for what went into the old pickles. Why not add some shit, like pepper corns, or chilli flakes or legit whatever you want. Those pickles are going to be week in flavor.

Personally I dont think the second batch needs em...if you want to add then add...simple
