Nice video guys, I love the way you two work together, especially with all the "crazies" out to ruin your day, stay safe and have fun, thank you for the content, all the best, Al
Thanks Dennis. Great to have you onboard with us. We do have a newsletter with the "inside scoop" of the loop. You can sign up on our website www.WhatYachtToDo.com It will also send you an Overview of the Great Loop. Cheers, Sam & Rev
Weekends and holidays on the water will test the patients of any soul.. Living on a freshwater water shows you thr crazies do come out in droves. Glad you held off happy hour until you anchored, most crazies start at breakfast. Good trip even though it was short but all is safe. Great. Enjoy.
I’ve done that trip many times-Paddleboarders, Kayakers, Skiffs, Center Consoles, Sailboats, and Yachts all sharing the same section of the Intracoastal. It can get very interesting at times!
You guys are a hoot. Marker 1 is my home marina and I boat that area all the time. The water does get a little skinny going from the marina to the ICW. You should see the traffic in the summer on a holiday or a weekend. There are tons of boat rentals running around, so you need to be extremely alert to inexperienced boaters. I leave the boat in the marina on those crazy days. Weekdays are great.

I like the part about keeping your head on a swivel! At least you guys didn't find yourself in the middle of a regatta! (Like I did a few times!) Great video!
Hate Holiday weekenders!!! Here at the lake we stay off the water and let the weekenders have their fun, come Monday the lake is ours again! On the hard Ed
busy busy busy, glad you made it through smoothly Captain. Ya'll went from barge traffic to multiple smaller vessels I bet the smaller boats are more annoying. So many dolphins this trip Rev, woohoo!! We have finally put a deposit on a boat and go for survey and sea trial on April 15th in Myrtle Beach, SC so fingers crossed all goes smoothly. Best wishes and be well youngsters. We hope to see you on the water soon.
If all goes well we will be back on the 28th to close on it. If you guys are gonna be there we would love to buy you guys a drink. Cheers!!@@WhatYachtToDo
Rev?? Sounded like you want to just do crossing's 😆😂 Thank you both for another great video... Safe travels 🙏 Scott PS Rev?? I think you should do crossing's in a personal submarine... What say you??
Locals call the jet skies "Murder Hornets" since they zip all over the place causing havoc. This loop you seem to be encountering more issues with shallow water (sand/mud bars) have you considered investing in one of the forward looking sonar units. I think Garmin has something as well as Lowrance and a few others.
I'd definitely want something like that, Colin from "Parlay Revival" recently installed them on his rebuilt Lagoon. The issue with the ones I've seen (so far) is you have to keep the speed way down, as in under 10kts.
Nauti Dog.. is that a sailing vessel? Sailing Doodles old boat was Nauti Dog. We are building a 65' powered cat for the Great Loop. It is my younger brother's boat.
It was Knotty Dogs. Wow, 65' is a big boat. Ensure the beam is less than 23' You might want to see our Great Loop Q&A: The Journey course. It is on www.GreatLoopAcademy.com Cheers, Sam
I've gotten to the point that I rarely go out on the boat whether back in Ohio or down here in Florida. Just like the way people drive cars and golf carts where I live in Florida, so many have seemed to have lost their minds and have given up following both the rules and common sense.
Well said! We had to move off the dock, so had to move on. Not my choice either. Currently waiting until tomorrow (Monday) to move since we have the option.
I actually HAVE PACIENCE :) hahahahah can't be a professional procrastranator without at least a lil' patience, WHAT I DO NOT HAVE is a TOLERANCE FOR STUPIDIDITY !!!!! :) my VAULT I place the stupidity into has a broke door so well lol I filled it with concreete and lol ;) DO GOOD & BE GOOD and make the WHOLE better while doing BOTH!!!!! One of the better videos in my opinion, cruising the loop with all the "crazies'." Nice work Sam. Take care, keep it between the sticks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Y'all anchored a mile away from me where I live in St Pete Beach! Love the videos!

Yes, I'll bet it is crazier in good weather! 😎

Right on. We do not like weekends on the water, but had to move off the dock. Too crazy!

Yikes! And encountering a sailing Regatta on a power boat would be bad! 😮

Yes, I have been watching that technology. Will have it on the next boat for certain!

Glad you enjoyed it. Hope all is well and cooler in Michigan! Sam

@@WhatYachtToDo She is 20' in the beam. Safe sailing!!
A little different than flying. 😂😂😂
Oh, yes!!
Anchored right by where I live/ boat.
That’s Corey Causeway drawbridge. Connects South Pasadena to St Pete Beach
Great quiet place and anchor held well!

Zero wake is bare steerageway. Minimal wake allows a little more speed but not much.
😊
I would have felt uneasy anchoring there in the open. If weather conditions allowed, would it be easier sometimes to just go out on the open water?
We were anchored off to the side of the channel. Yes, sometimes the open water route is best.
Cheers, Sam
they didn't have to take the intracoastal waterway.go into the gulf and avoid the traffic.
If weather is good
As far as the rules of the road, it's probably safest to assume the OTHER guy doesn't know his ___ from his elbow. Just like on the highway.
