Steidten is the glue man that is facilitating the ongoing incremental improvement of the performance of the club. This is via smart business in the transfer market where we sell high and reinvest into players that fit the system and with profit potential, selection of head coaches that fit the decided playing style and succession planning throughout the club. If Steidten could get Kudus to give up the release clause or raise it to £120m in return for an extra £50,000 a week, or even £100,000, that would be good business.
I think Steidten has done amazing adapting to the situation at West Ham - coming in under Moyes and signing players Moyes signed off, even suggested there was a committee..! Then we've seen Super Steidten 'Steidtnings' (signings), the professionalism he's brought to that side of West Ham is really impressive... Even with J-Lo, he has adapted to get a mix of players that suit the manager, the present and the future - staying within budget and the intricacies of the deals and wages to allow us to proceed with his plan - we actually have a lower wage bill..!⚒️
I think a some good markers of success for Tim would be do we have decent players in each position with a suitable back up, if we do sell players do we get a good deal and then how quickly they are replaced with comparable quality. Another thing would be the fuss of getting new players in. I think it might have been Gary Neville that said you can tell which clubs are run well by how soon in a transfer window deals are concluded. So at the moment I think the players are coming in with relatively little fuss and we have a decent team and a half. Still some work to do but definitely a thumbs up from me atm.
I believe he's trying to do that, but we need to start somewhere guillerme hopefully, but we have kudus alvarez paqueta, but we need these players to get there first, so it's going to be hard.
I think the making money question should wait awhile as clearly the team needed rebuilding, and that costs rather than makes money. Another aspect is that the cost is not just reflected in the sale price it is reflected in the wage bill also. Getting rid of someone on a free transfer may not seem like a great idea until you factor in that the wages saving means more room in the budget for new players to come in.
Didn't Moyes buy Irvine last season and loan him back to the club? Even if players do not play to their full potential this season, Steidten has exceeded anything I have ever seen at WHU in one transfer window. I’d argue you just judged us for producing this video 😉
@HammersChat no mate' hammerschat is my favourite west ham channel ' I was only making a comment no offence meant '' I have been a patron for a couple of years now but rearly comment ' ' maybe I should just watch and not comment 😀 😉
@@markgallagher3409 comment away mate, am just having fun
Any regrets getting players like Hugill, Ajeti, Vlasic, Philips , etc etc
No,banging transfers
Wouldn't want a Chelsea model, look where buying expensive superstars has got them.
I’m not interested in selling players as we shouldn’t be aspiring to be clubs like Brighton, we should be aspiring to be like the clubs who finished above us last season. Don’t mind taking punts on younger players like Brighton though, like we have done with Guilherme.
Villa had to sell Luiz and they finished above us
@@HammersChat Indeed, because they had to raise money. We don’t at this present time. I’m not suggesting ‘never’ selling players as it happens to clubs a lot bigger than us. See Beckham and Ronaldo at Man Utd. But we certainly shouldn’t be selling players every single summer window, as if you want to build something you need to keep a baulk of your best players and have some consistency.
@@MarkChippers2193 I get that and I half agree, forgive me as I can’t recall what video I said it in (we did one one Steidten which will be on forum channel) and I said am ok with selling one per summer, like Luiz, but as long as we choose who, also like Villa did!
You paid a down payment of 20m for that kid. Yet Duran would’ve been 40m plus. As Chelsea got told 45m.
I think Josh is also including the £25m we spent on Fullkrug so would have been the Duran fee
@@HammersChatThen that’s a different argument Geo. But you know how it works. That kid goes on to be a 80m player. Why didn’t the club buy him. That’s the game buddy 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
@@Sniffer-NUFC I know, we say this in the video!
it was never Guilherme over Duran
Agree (but we cover this)
Early days again , jury is out , surely he is judged on the performance of the team and the performance of the players he brings in . I don’t care how much the player resells for - I just care about watching a competitive attractive playing football team
Agree it’s early days but that’s why Josh asked HOW will you judge him and not how do you judge him today.
I’ve always said a DOF is a 3 year cycle type thing. Imo you can’t judge this summer completely until 2025/26 season.
Let's judge his work after 4 years shall we?
If you wish, up to you how you judge him.
You can't, it's your job. Totally understand that. Lol
@@ashton235 Tbf it’s more answering Josh question, we wouldn’t have done this topic otherwise! I am half inclined to agree, am very calm with any DOF and think he has to be judged long term
