Hey Ern. Appreciate your sense of humor. Baller on a budget. Before long I will be a pilot on a pension! Your wife handled the bumpy flight like a champ. The Green Hornet is looking mighty fine. Blue skies and tailwinds on the way back.
... I still remember being there...standing by the waterwall one day..taking pictures with our family .and the young architect friend ..who had actually helped to design..the amazing spa upstairs....
Hello Ern, nothing like a nice recreational flight . No customers in the back. I remember my flying days in Florida over the cost lines in the summer, bumpy.. It’s warming up in the Windy City, maybe a trip to MDW? Safe travels 👍
..yet another epic post..from our most fun Pilot ..flying today ..on the TH-cam...just post and repeat...with the always smiling.and extremely interesting...pilot Big Ern..please keep em coming...
Love your vlogs Ern. I vacationed in Vegas and SW USA in 2019 (from Australia). This brings back a lot of exciting memories for me. Can’t wait to return.
How do you like a video twice? Lol. Deserve extra likes not just for your plane but for your general attitude and personality and your fab co pilot. Love the videos. Keeping me entertained here in 🇮🇪
Its the aviation content along with the little things for me "that is not ours" "you could film if you had a better pilot" "what's wrong with you we haven't even been drinking yet" Awesome man!
@@FlyingwithBigErn oh, I’m in the same boat with my wife, but back in the day, when we were dating, her knickers flew off like a loose hubcap on a bumpy road over my piloting skills.
Captain! Always nice to see another upload, especially love seeing the GA content as I’m going through my training as well. Hope you have a great stay in Vegas and a safe flight home! Cheers!
Look at you ballin' with your shiny Cirrus! Those bumps remind me of my F33A time in PHX. What a blast! I was sure you were going to park right in between those 737's in front of that AECOM hangar... Anyways you got the private transport ;)
The heat comments brought back to me my memories of flight training at Burnside-Ott Aviation in a Cessna 152 at Tamiami Airport in Miami, 1978. Heat AND humidity, not like the Southwest! Emerged from the plane sweating especially after stall practice! For some reason I always wore jeans and not shorts. That's how it was then. Also amazingly my fellow students were Iranians and Venezuelans, their training paid for by their governments. Iranian and Venezuelan students....THAT's a change from now!
Currently considering a change in career. Im 24 and work full time in EMS right now. I love my job, but since a kid i've wanted to be a pilot. I'm going to get my PPL soon and go to ATP for all my other certs and checks. Can't wait to finally be living the dream. And thank you for your videos, I always look forward to them!
Couldn't help but to notice the "Janet" 732's! Either they upgraded to the -500 or went to the CFM engines, can't tell which though. All it means to me is that op is still up and running! Love the channel as well as WN! Safe travels sir.
Great video. Excellent video and audio quality. I just bought a Cirrus and would love to know your audio and video setup. Connections, adapters, filters and audio recording through the headsets. Thanks
Hi Jose! I use Nflightcam for the audio adapter. Works real well. The cameras are GoPros both 7/8. Standard filter for the prop. Good luck and congratulations on the Cirrus!
Great to see this.....Hello Ern! You have a nice Co-Pilot haha)) Your wife? If so,does she also work in Aviation? Fantastic vid.....Enjoy! So much thank for posting Ern;)) Stafe Safe and have a lovely week! Many greetings Betsy.
I laughed when as you were leaving earlier in the beginning you saw that Gulfstream.☺☺ Yes, the big wishes in life. Hahaha. But your aircraft and the ability to travel when you want is just as fine. Thank you!!!! Then flying into Vegas airport is just crazy!!! Those private jets parked there are always looking good. And yes to have your symbol or logo on the aircraft tail is cool😌. Thank you for sharing. You and your wife fly safe back home.✈😄
Great content but in the future if it’s possible and not personal can you share the price of gas and how much it cost to leave your plane in Vegas or else where for a day.
It's the ATIS for the airport you're using. It contains non-control information such as weather information, runway(s) in use, etc. If you look up the acronym you'll get more info.
Cirrus says no extra speed for gusty conditions, but I appreciate the wisdom of experience. Gusts to 17 knots still out of my personal comfort zone with only 150 hours in the SR22. Perhaps we'll run into each other on the ramp to discuss sometime. Home base is across the field at Signature. Nice video, I'm an editor myself. Happy to help if ever needed.
Hey Jeff! Yeah but after a particular gross landing in gusty conditions back in SDL I feel an additive is wise. Just my personal opinion though and I’m always receptive to others experiences. I may need you skills😁. Getting hard to edit and fly the extra trips out there now! Cheers!
He Ern- great video. When I’m flying an SR22 to Vegas, I either go to Henderson or North Vegas, though I’d rather land at KLAS - just intimidated by the Bravo I guess. Any motherhood you can offer heading into KLAS? Thanks!
It can be very daunting but really it’s not that bad. For sure get flight following there. They usually land GA on the 1/19 runways. Easy taxi from there. The fees I found were reasonable at Atlantic. I’ll be using them next time I head there too. Cheers!
curious if transitioning from 737 to single engine is a challenge on the rotate on landing. The 737 rotate/flare timing versus the cirrus rotate/flare. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts and comments on that aspect of craft change.
That’s a good point! I’ll talk about that in an upcoming video. Honestly it takes a min or two then it’s fine. Your brain will recalibrate pretty quick on the sight picture. The Cirrus lands differently too. Cheers!
Take off is a lot bigger deal actually. But their runway is very long and rolls downhill slightly. I’ve never had to lighten up (kick passengers off) due to heat. Even at PHX. I’d imagine Ernie might have, since that’s his base. That’s why Big LUV didn’t get stupid and buy any hyped up RJ’s! The 7-3 can tolerate about 10 more degrees of heat than any of them. Now that G650 in the video, it is smaller, but can out perform any commercial airliner. FL510, which is ballsy, even being the technical wonder it is, it’s still operating in a tiny window in which a high speed, and a low speed stall can both happen. It rides the coffin corner!
It’s starting to get warm Will but hiking is always awesome. Tons of trails out here. I’d recommend Camelback then over to “The Henry” for lunch.👍🏽. Cheers!
Henderson didn’t save me any money actually. By the time I did a round trip on an Uber it might have been cheaper at LAS believe it or not. Plus it was just convenient. Cheers!

Thanks for the compliment captainduck1607! Just happy people enjoy them. Cheers!

Nice Janet action on the ramp in LAS. Would have been sweet to see a 736 in WN colors with split scimitars
Saw that too Andrew. Janet has been around a long time back to the early '80s. "Dreamland" flights.
Bout time you went out and enjoyed yourself and let your hair down. Thanks for taking us along and enjoy the Mandalay Bay. 👍🏾
Another great video. Love seeing both your commercial & GA trips! Id love to sit right seat to ya. Happy flying Capt!
Those 736’s at LAS are super-duper-uper-duper ballers.😁👍
Oh yeah for sure😁
Seeing all the fancy FBO's as we went through the states was my favourite part about flying there, they treat GA really well
They really do! Cheers!

Hey Bernard! It’s actually what Sam and I came up with for the plane. Cheers!
I used to own a G5 myself, but I traded it in for a Chevy volt.
Why is the cover from the CAPS flapping?
It’s just a cover with Velcro. Comes off if you don’t press on it well. Has no affect on the system. Cheers!
Very nice.
