Back in the day, these use to be str8 sticking cadence's but now it's getting to the corp style, but Alcorn gave us neither. Yes they sound good, but everything was in sets of 4s-marching cadence style. -not talking bad about them, if you say who got the best marching cadence? Answer : Alcorn. But good job both schools👏🏽💪🏾💯

Alcorn had an overall clean look with uniformity. TxSU had the better material but the delivery of cadences wasn't cleaned throughout certain sections. Uniformity - Alcorn Material - TxSU Throughout the entire battle Alcorn played maybe 3 cadences that actually sold as battle cadences. The rest was groove cadences with loads of repetition or cadences that sounded like marching cadences. However, at this point it didn't matter what they played because they played as a section and had the overall better visual look. TxSU has the better material and showcased advanced cadences but visual presentation and visual mistakes threw away the weight of the cadences played. The battle could have easily went in their favor with no doubt but Playing good material doesn't save face when the material isn't matched with execution and uniformity. not looking uniformed/clean/together along with too many visual mistakes from cymbals to snares takes away from the battle going in their favor. The better section with Material goes to FunkTrain. Overall visual appearance Alcorn.
TazzKId I was thinking the same. Txsu got material it just wasn't clean. I liked three of Alcorns cadences as well, but if Txsu was clean and executed their material better I feel they would have won. However, Txsu didn't deliver and Alcorn execution was there.
I'm from Ms decided to go to Txsu for this very reason mane. Schools from this area love to play cadences like this against a real technical schools. Basically sounded like they were playing songs, plus trying to playing stuff they heard smh. When schools from the Sip learn to play based off the competition and not just some grove stuff, promise you will be a better match.
Alcorn because they stayed clean. TSU had the material but was all over the place. Once they tighten that up they will be good to go. Just like when playing on a set. I rather hear a clean pocket player than one who tries to much out of pocket and makes small mistakes
