We are Moving.... Saying Goodbye

  • This truly is a good chapter coming to a close. Our lives in our first apartment as a married couple, to adopting our kitties & raising our toddler is coming to an end. I am very sad about this change.
We love this apartment so so much!!! It is a brand new build (we were the first people to move in here!) The view is nice. We get amazing direct lighting most of the day (especially in the winter & afternoon) The location is very urban for Peoria Arizona with loads of shopping and restaurants very close by. It is close to where my husband works.
BUT we cannot afford to continue living here... It is officially out of our price range. When we first moved in, It was just the two of us & I was also selling paintings to help with our income. But now we have a daughter & two kitties so cost of living is too high to also pay for this rent. Every time we renewed our lease the rent just kept going up & up.
    So whats the plan?
We are moving in with my parents.
They have a big house in Phoenix that we can surely squeeze ourselves into. It does feel very defeating moving back in with my parents after being a full on adult with a husband & child. But hopefully this will only be for a couple years at max. JUST enough for us to save enough money to afford our own place again.
The main pro for moving in with my parents is that Marceline will be able to spend more time with her grandparents. My parents arn't getting any younger and they are not working anymore so they can spend as much time with their granddaughter as they can.
Another obvious pro is that we can save money. If we can save money on rent we can spend some money on fun actives, events, food, gifts for others & vacations. ALL of the things that were too expensive for us when ALL of our money was going towards rent.
Another pro for me is that I can have help for watching Marceline. Just on an everyday basis. I do not want to take advantage of my parents time & energy of course.
I am not looking forward to downsizing all of our things. Putting all of our apartment things in storage. Sharing a space with my parents (meaning less privacy than having my own space, i love my parents). I am worried about our cats getting used to a new home & them adapting to the more lively nature of my parents house. My husband will have to commute from another city into work.
I was able to tell this information plainly all the way up until I said how our daughter Marceline did all of her 'firsts' here in the apartment and I was sad to say goodbye to it.
I put a montage of some happy moments from our apartment at the end as a goodbye to this lovely apartment.

It truly is a bittersweet thing, moving out of your own apartment to live with parents again. As you were getting teary and the montage started, I started to tear up too. You've really made a lot of wonderful memories there. T_T
