He wasn't adding skills, he was showing what skills are active. The active skills are ones from your wolves "in castle" and your active wolf. I hope that clears it up a bit...

Can you try the Khopesh (One-Handed Sword upgrade) on Fire Guardians? They deal 3 Damage instead of 2 and it's slightly cheaper than Spiked Mace
