That orange looks fantastic on your blue Mustang. Tips for others interested in doing this and in no way referring to this video as his calipers were NOT glossy to begin with. I*f ourn calipers to be painted are glossy, sand thoroughly areas to be painted with 100-120 grit sandpaper after cleaning with brake clean to G2 paint can adhere better, then brake clean again and I like to wipe it dry with a clean lint free cloth or blue shop paper towels as it cleans much better than just spraying brake clean. In Canada, you do NOT get a can of brake clean in the kit due to shipping restrictions to Canada. If remembering correctly, I use about 2 cans of brake clean for one vehicles. And do NOT use the brush in the kit. The bristles will likely come off in your paint. The brush kit shown in this video or similar from an art supply store or Home Depot is what I’ve used many times using G2 with zero issues. And this paint is thick and gets tacky quickly so do not brush back and forth too often or brush strokes will be visible when it dries. G2 paint is a very durable paint unless hit with tools or gravel(roads) and driving quicker than you should on those roads.
Love your personality and being real with the audience about your most challenging part before painting. I, too, am hesitant to jack my own vehicle up at home. However, it's time to dive in and just do it so I'll be buying the tools this week. I have brand new wheels I feel comfortable installing as well now that I'm taking the plunge and doing it myself.
@@QueTheChaotic ended up buying jacking rails and now got addicted. Swapped my wheels for 19x10/11 a few weeks ago and now I'm painting my calipers tomorrow. On Saturday I'm going to install lowering springs. Crazy
I think you did it perfectly. Applying the paint with the small brush made a great later so when you used the big bush it stuck so well. The way the coats came on were ideal for how you would want that type of paint to spread and lay on
When you said you were painting your calipers orange i thought to myself self “What the…???”. But after seeing the end result i have to say that they look amazing on your car. Great job!!!!
Perfectly deeply detailed so I know exactly what I’m getting into with buying this stuff. It looks a lot like powder coat. The blue and orange together looks great man!
Excellent job young man!!! I own a GT500 in velocity blue. The red/orange calipers in contrast with the blue is one of the things that attracted me to my car.
Nice work bro, did my car today with a calliper spray can, like you not comfortable jacking up the car on stands etc but now that its done 8hrs later, feels heaps rewarding doing it 💯
Glad I came across this video, just waiting on my custom color G2 order for my 2016 mustang gt and have been thinking that I should have ordered 2 kits. But after seeing how many coats you got on your beautiful GT350 I think 1 kit will be enough. Nice job looks awesome
You did a real good job 👏. I Customize calipers as well but I use a Auto paint production I get made in a Airsoft can through my supplier. But For your personal car this is a great way to test thing out. Im also glade you put that tire and jack underneath your car after jacking it up. Also where you got the jack 👀 at in the middle of the car. You could of lifted it there and then put the two jacket stands under with 1 lift, instant of two lifts. It saves time. Thanks for the video. Peace ✌🏾
Thanks for the comment. I wasn't comfortable with any of this process. It turned out great though. I wanted to save time jacking the car up but I wasn't sure where lol. The jack pads only fit close to the tires on this car. Spraying would have been much easier
*GREAT VIDEO!* They came out looking great. I was seriously questioning your decision to hand paint them vs. spray painting. I thought you had messed up big-time. But the evenness of the coats looks good in the end. Although, I still think spray painting would have been easier on you and ensured a more uniform appearance.
Like your video. Want to do this on my Mustang. You should definitely invest in set of Kenny Brown jacking rails so you won't mess up your pinch welds.
Thanks for the lengthy video with all sorts of tips and even sharing things that didn’t go so well like nearly running out of paint. I thought since they are actual Brembo’s that you may try to paint around the logo, or try to get a Brembo sticker to put on afterwards, are they even available ?
I'm late to the party ha! Nice work! Great car! I ordered the G2 kit. One question, did the brush strokes level out? Is it a smooth finish? Thanks for the video it is very helpful.
Thanks a lot. The brush strokes evened out. Just make light, even coats. I sometimes wonder if spraying them would have been better. But they still look good. Even after taking it to the track
Nice job. How have they held up? It’s pretty easy to take off the calipers and pads and rotor and then put the caliper back on and paint it. I think I would suggest doing that, but I haven’t done it myself yet.
Great job. Your car looks and sounds amazing. I'm gonna try this on my 2011 gt. It's Kona blue I'm thinking red calibers, hope it turns out as nice as yours.
How did you get the pinch weld adapter on there and still get it under the car???? I have to use a low profile jack, go up a little bit then put another jack (same exact one you have), under the car then lift it up higher then repeat the other side. You only used 1 AND the pinch weld part 😮…. Must sit higher than my 08’
Spraying it seems easy and fast but you might paint other things unintentionally but the brushes mean you will paint only the parts you brush….I might use the brushes
I need my calipers painted but cant tell if this paint is worth it or just go powder coating through someone. I'm sure this paint looks great but the problem is a year or 2 down the line if it's going to look the same
@@QueTheChaotic appreciate the response! So you obviously have the 6 piston fronts, i have the 4 pistons which are slightly smaller but still think i can get 4 coats on all them? It does look good but there's no way I would have painted over the brembo lettering and symbol I would have left them they way they were or painted them white but still all in all good job definitely better then the boring non noticeable Grey color for sure!
@@QueTheChaotic definitely I appreciate it! I have a comp orange Gt so I’m looking for as close to the color as I can get. I have dark bronze Ferradas on the car and I think it would look good with this color behind them

I applied 4 coats of Yellow on the calipers because the paint was not covering. Becoming disapointed with the product. I did have plenty of paint for the project so that was not the issue. The issue was that it did not cover the calipers completely. It just kept bleeding through. Might want to use a primer first.
G2 is a great product but they're ripping you off with the amount of paint for $70. I purchased a kit 5yrs ago and my can was full but now they give a half a can worth for the same price.
