  • As the flowers fade, I cut the flower stalk at the base. The green leaves are left intact to photosynthesize and and energy back to the bulb for next year's bloom. Dead heading will not result in more blooms, just a better looking yard!

    When we should plant it outside?? I live in Canada, Calgary

      Mine is outside in ground year round. Our winter low is about -12C at night. Ian in USDA zone 8 . I Giigled and Calgary is in zone 3 or 4. Hyacinth should be hardy in zone 4. Have you had winter kill when they are kept outside over winter.
      To answer your question, plant them outside after deadhead so the bulb can get more energy back from the foliage. If they normally cannot survive the winter. You need to dig them up and store in the fridge for 19 weeks before planting in Spring. Interesting to hear how things go if you can keep us updated. No worries if you ate busy. I have retired but most are not yet so.
