Hey Lara, it might depend on the situation. I don't have a lot of experience with ring lights, but what I understand is they positioned in the same spot as the camera. This does provide soft light, but it also removes all shadows from your face. The soft boxes would provide soft light, but also also you to get a little bit of directional shadow on your face. I think it comes down to personal preference. You could do a search for "ring lights vs softbox lighting" to see if you prefer one look over the other.
How does the reflector help in lighting the subject? What color reflector should be used for interviews?
