Welcome Back! This is Matt and I love turning trash into CASH. It is Nacho Stuff but that doesnt mean someones trash can't equal cash. You see, many people have abandoned all kinds of random treasures and toss them into the trash. We take these lost valuables and figure out a way to make a buck from them. Sometimes it through resell, other times we might just scrap it. Either way, we are turning free stuff into cash. I prefer the curbside scene but occasionally find myself in a dumpster or two. Join me as I try to turn nothing into something.
I mostly consider myself a scrapper or repurposer of things that people have decided to discard. Some call it picking while others consider it a true treasure hunt. But at the end of the day, like most scrappers, I am trying to reduce our waste while lining my pockets a little in the process. Each piece of scrap metal, item of curbside treasure or piece of dumpster loot means one less piece going into our landfills and that makes me happy. I found a come-along and planned on using it. It has been in the back of the truck for months waiting to for just this job. It was broken - I guess that why it was in the garbage LOL Those 2 containers were from that same spot yesterday. Always find fun stuff.

Those garage door openers have a great copper motor in them.
They are pretty similar to the ceiling fans but much more work to get at. I get them sometimes but often just shred them

Do you have O'Reillys Auto Parts there. If you take them full size batteries, they give you up to $30 in store credit for them if. And it doesn't matter if you bought them there. Just thought I would throw that out there for you. :)
I thought it was a flat $10 on the batteries. Up to $30 huh? Might have to look into that further.

I listen to several podcasts and would love to be able to listen. I’ve actually tried to find one and there’s not any I could find. Awesome opportunity for y’all. You could interview scrap yard people other scrappers around the country etc, etc.

In the back of the mower there is a silver pin pull it and the mower will roll, and we do not watch pod cast, we call them talkie talks and change the chanel keep scrapping Matt.
I looked for the pin and didnt see one. I have made that mistake before. Not sure what the deal with this one is. I would still be scrapping - not giving that up. The podcast would be maybe once a week or so and an add on to the youtube.

next time use your tie down strap as a come along on the mower. yes it takes a little while but it will save your back OR do like I finally did and go buy a winch and mount it on the front of your trailer. my winch is wired directly to my battery using a hook up at the bumper like the one you use for your trailer lights but heaver duty. BUT uses a heavy duty wiring for the hoist motor. works great or mount a battery on the tong of your trailer but then you got to keep it charged.
That is actually how I got it up. I found a come along and planned on using it but it turned out to be broken. My mower guy has one of those electric ones and they are awesome. I hope to get one in the future,

I live in Carlisle Cumbria England and my local village where I live has a bike charity project that collects 2nd bikes and services them up & donate to families in need, health professionals so they can get to work, " Rebikes "

A Kia Soul Scrapper probably took those fridge doors parts on the washer and the insides of the grill too. I do that here. I can fit doors and such but not the whole thing and leave the big part for people that have trailers and trucks.

I can't afford to live in Florida until I do van life. That is my retirement goal. Once I get that truck or van to scrap bigger most of that income is saving to outfit for van life in about 8 years. I'm so close to getting a bigger vehicle.
Pod cast l would probably check it out. All in all good choice to make the second run. I don't know if it will help you or not. I flip mowers and when l get ones like that, that won't move l have cafeteria plastic trays. Put them under the tires they slide alot easier. Still would have been a fight with those front tires but even baking sheets or a frying pan l used one time while l was scrapping that was in the trailer lol. Great show as always.
Sounds liker a good idea - my biggest problem is getting of the thick lip I have on the trailer because the gate sags. We got her on there though

The yard made him. Said it was obstructing his line of sight. Wanted to make sue he could see his bins and scales. He removed all the plated and they will find a new home in his area soon

Y’all among others are fun to watch. But podcasts is not for me. I like the excitement of seeing what y’all find on the side of the road in the dumpster wherever the scrap maybe
The hunts are certainly a visual thing - the podcast would be more informational on what is going in the scrap world, personal experiences, explains or talking about items and guests (like Jeff or Kevin or really anyone that has some god stories and life experiences to share).
