+Jordan Chen Thanks! Yes of course a good set of hair helps a lot! Then comes the right technique plus product that works good with with your hair and style. And a decent cut is also preferred.
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course Great one! Thanks for sharing.I just wanted to ask, what is the best length for this version of the pompadour (front and sides)?
I've only used Black and White & Royal Crown. B&W smells great and RC has very nice shine. I use them mainly as a topper. So I like classic stuff but they do have to work with my hair. Sweet Georgia Brown, DAX, Murrays. I love the smell, oldschool artwork. But I mostly use modern home brewed products like American Greaser Supply, Lockhart's, Pomps Not Dead & Big Slick. Works great for me and has a more clean feel than those factory products.
Is your hair trimmed diagonally, on top (the front hairline being the longest and then trimmed gradually shorter at about the top middle section, the sides and back of head)? Is that how your barber cuts your hair, sir?
Yeah it's aways good to pay extra attention to your white tiles and floor while you wash it out. That goes for all grease but the black beeswax is more noticeable. Nothing you can't remove though.
I have a question. I can style a pretty good pomp, but after awhile my hair right in the front ("pomp") decides to just separate and my hair just splits instead of staying together. what can I do? I'm not sure if my hair naturally does it. I have thick straight hair.
+SKILLZ707 I totally missed this question. It's hard to say what the problem is. What kind of pomade are you using? Sounds like you need a more heavy and sticky one. Make sure that everything is coated from root to top. Also the sun/heat can ruin a lot when you are using a petroleum based pomade.
+How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course what he's trying to say is that when he styles the pomp everything is perfect and all slicked back but after a while the hair will split in the middle and leave a part with no hair covering it. I know this is what he's trying to say because it happnes to me. When my hair is parted in the middle, you can't see it from the front or back view. Only people taller than me can see it unless I tilt my head down. I could send u some pictures if u don't know what I mean
+ExpertGaming7050 He was talking about his front splitting. You might be talking about a cowlick that is fighting you. I had that all the time in the beginning when I did a full pomp. The only solution was to get more length and I started parting right before that area and go against the grain (you do need a good length for that). Sometimes I also go along that line and comb the really stubborn parts where they naturally wanna go to. Difficult to explain in words. But also make sure you apply enough pomade. Get it evenly coated.Very important.
+Robert Meyers Thanks Robert! In my experience the black is a bit heavier and stickier. It does have a very particular scent so you better check that one out before you buy it ;)
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course Except that I may have to use a lot of pomade.... And I have what one might call a "metal hairstyle", so knowing how to set all my hair would be a lot of work. ... At least, I may be able to get a teddyboy hairstyle, or something like the character of Josuke from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Can be a number of reasons. I myself am not able to do a slickback because my hair is to coarse. It will stick up or split unless it's pretty long and has a LOT of buildup in it. But in the end my cowlick always wins. Can be that the product your using is too dry and/or waxy too.
This is exactly how i have my hair but i use hairspray so its a dry look to it. idk what it is but all of the pomades i use just don't work with my hair.
Nick Hernandez Really? You should show me. Makes me real curious. I don't like the feel of hairspray. Pomade you can leave in all week and gives a nice shine.
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course thats the thing even if i pull off a deccent pomp it only last bout 30 minutes before it just breaks apart :/ . It really bums me out, but a pomp is a pomp even with hairspray am i right? Lol
Nick Hernandez Sometimes it takes some practice to apply it in a way that it's evenly coated or you need a different kind of pomade. But if hairspray works for you, you should go with that ;)
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course Ill try out different pomades lol but i just really wanted that shine look to go with my greaser style. Thank you btw
Thx for sharing pal. What a slick pomp! I just wondering during ur pomade application, did u apply it directly to the front or back of ur hair? And did u totally cover up ur hair with pomade, or just on top of the layer area? Thank you!
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course Hi there i loved ur video do u have to blow dry and what type of hair cut u need i.e? how many inches on top and sides and what type of clippers thnx
David Pavlovich Hey there David. I practically never blow dry my hair. In episode 01 you can see what my hair looks like after a fresh cut and fully degreased. I don't know the exact figures since my barber uses shears mainly. The sides are tapered and on top it's fairly long because I have hair that wants to stick up all the time. The front/bangs are passed the tip of my nose but eyebrow length should do the trick also.
ok cool got it i did the elvis 1968 comeback special hair today i have a lil past my eyes actualy but i do use a polish serum and blow dry and mouse lil water & hairspray is cool for a matte look can u recmomend me a pomade? thnx alot
David Pavlovich Cool! Do you have any videos are insta's of it? Recommending a pomade is always difficult. I'm into heavies so American Greaser Supply Super 90wt together with some 40wt. Bone Crusher is great stuff too.
+MrFireDragon It all depends on what kind of hair and hairline you have. You need a symmetrical cut for a pompadour. Grow out the top and especially your bangs. For some guys eyebrow-length will do the trick. I think mine was till the tip of my nose in this video. Just experiment what works best for you and only copy the techniques and not the hairstyle itself. Thanks!
This is great. No taking a half an hour. This video just lays it out and does an amazing job!
This guy comes along and just shows you how it's done, pure and simple. 👌
Damn. Perfect pomp.
You have a splendid head of hair, and I think that's the most important other than product to style a good pompadour.
+Jordan Chen Thanks! Yes of course a good set of hair helps a lot! Then comes the right technique plus product that works good with with your hair and style. And a decent cut is also preferred.
You have the cleanest and sickest pomp I've seen so far on TH-cam dude
That's very nice of you to say. Thanks a lot!
really greasy... like that Style. Great Video.
Greetings from Germany

How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course Great one! Thanks for sharing.I just wanted to ask, what is the best length for this version of the pompadour (front and sides)?

So flawless
Damn bad ass hair bro im jealous 😃
my granddad had this hairtyle in the 50s . is it become popular again in 2016 ?
Absolutely, though people usually have their hair shorter on the sides and back in comparison to back then.
Tom Cruise!
BimaMusisi that’s what I thought!!!!! He looks like Tom Cruise at some points!
Hey, these videos are great! I have very similar hair to yours in terms of thickneness and straightness- still growing mine out though
I will try this technic, thank you
wow nice pomp!
+Ian Glenn Daganio Thank you sir
What is your opinion on the classic oil based pomades like, black&white, royal crown and lucky tiger cru butch.
Nice! 👍👍
Thanks man. All you guys are really nice. I appreciate that.
Very nice 😎
Thanks!
i like this alot!
+Amirul Ashraf Thanks!
How many inches of hair do you have, sir, to achieve this terrific looking pompadour?
You just need enough to work with. A bit of length is definitely necessary
Is your hair trimmed diagonally, on top (the front hairline being the longest and then trimmed gradually shorter at about the top middle section, the sides and back of head)?
Is that how your barber cuts your hair, sir?
@@DennisFTowle-gi3gf In this video I can't remember. But in episode 4 and the Jusincredible video it surely was.
Does the black beeswax you use can stain things when you wash it out?
Yeah it's aways good to pay extra attention to your white tiles and floor while you wash it out. That goes for all grease but the black beeswax is more noticeable. Nothing you can't remove though.
Brilliant!
Thank you ;)
Is there a difference between regular murrays beeswax and murrays beeswax black?
I'm not sure. The black seems just a notch more firm but it probably is just the same.
Thanks! I heard the black is less hold.
I have noticed that Murray's has the Black Beeswax featured in your video and a regular beeswax. Have you tried them both?
Yes I did actually. I use the black one more often. Makes for a great topper as well.
what a different between side part pomp and only pomp?
Well with a full pomp you don't part your hair and make a symmetrical pomp. Like here: th-cam.com/video/kEYqRm2OK1w/w-d-xo.html
sir how to make pomade own in the house strong hold any ingredients bcoz in the market based sale pomade with camical
No I don't know anything about that
I have a question. I can style a pretty good pomp, but after awhile my hair right in the front ("pomp") decides to just separate and my hair just splits instead of staying together. what can I do? I'm not sure if my hair naturally does it. I have thick straight hair.
Try A Super Hold Like Layrite Super Hold
+SKILLZ707 I totally missed this question. It's hard to say what the problem is. What kind of pomade are you using? Sounds like you need a more heavy and sticky one. Make sure that everything is coated from root to top. Also the sun/heat can ruin a lot when you are using a petroleum based pomade.

+How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course no it's not a cowlick is there anyway I could show u a photo
Like a boss
which beeswax has a stronger hold? the regular or black? great vid! stay greasy!!! oil based will never die!!!
+Robert Meyers Thanks Robert! In my experience the black is a bit heavier and stickier. It does have a very particular scent so you better check that one out before you buy it ;)
My hair is straight very thick I need help to do this with my hair cause I use hair wax. Is that what the problem is any ideas?
+anthony forzono Just saw your comment. What do you mean with hair wax?
I realised you're left-handed in this video :D
What makes you think that? I'm right handed ;)
How long do the sides need to be?
That's different for every individual. Just let it grow and see if you can slick it back. If it's really long it can get a bit messy :)
I wonder how far I could go with my long hair....
+Poodleinacan One way to find out...
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course

Perfect
I always seem have problem when I try slick my hair it always seem spilt
Spilt or split? You mean a slickback or just the sides?
How To Style A Pompadour - The Master Course when I slit it back it spilts in middle for some reason
Can be a number of reasons. I myself am not able to do a slickback because my hair is to coarse. It will stick up or split unless it's pretty long and has a LOT of buildup in it. But in the end my cowlick always wins. Can be that the product your using is too dry and/or waxy too.
So now I pretty much cut it to buzzcut to grow it out maybe that will help with spilts
Take a buzz cut and you'll never have to worry about it again haha
nice
How can i style with wavy hair? Make a video about it or give me some solution plsss

Any type will do
This is exactly how i have my hair but i use hairspray so its a dry look to it. idk what it is but all of the pomades i use just don't work with my hair.

Is Murrays bad for hair?
No. Just use it wisely and degrease once in a while.
Ok , thanks.
Thx for sharing pal. What a slick pomp! I just wondering during ur pomade application, did u apply it directly to the front or back of ur hair? And did u totally cover up ur hair with pomade, or just on top of the layer area? Thank you!
Hi there. My hair was fully covered with pomade in this one. Thanks for watching!
